13. Fight for Survival (Final)

Few minutes ago...

Ethan saw the masked men enter the room as soon as the Vampires left and they started clearing out the bodies of the dead people while few of them stood on guard with muskets in their hand.

Ethan sat down in order to catch his breath and be ready for whatever that vampire b*tch was planning for them. With his battered body, he wondered whether he could fight properly.

Well the same could be said for others as they weren't looking good either. The three people that Ethan had came with had already died in the hands of one of the ten guys. Ethan didn't mind as they weren't close at all.

The feeling of guilt in Ethan, on killing the people had subsided completely. He knew that although whatever he did was not right but without killing people he wouldn't have survived either. He was not a good person in the first place and instead of avoiding his actions, he decided to embrace them as a part of his survival. He knew that he needed to become stronger, physically and mentally, or the next person to die would be him.

He looked at the strongest person in the group, the dude with height close to seven feet. That person has killed a total of eight people, two higher than Ethan. If Ethan was told to fight him, the probability of winning was not that good.

Ethan was not a professional fighter or something who could beat a person bulkier and taller than him by the use of skills. He had no fighting skills in the first place. Though he had a bit of a knowledge about the way to fight from watching various anime and fights.

However the difference in watching and experiencing himself was quite wide which could not be breached.

Ethan shook his head and emptied his mind from all the negative thoughts.

As the group of ten individuals sat in a tense silence, the two vampires along who had put them in this twisted game entered the room. Behind them another vampire also entered the room.

Ethan yet couldn't believe the self control these three vampires had over as they were able to stand in the room filled with human blood without going crazy. Though he could see William scrunching his nose from time to time, but still he didn't lose control at all.

Ethan had no idea what type of self training control they must have gone through in order to resist such a primal instinct for human blood.

"You have rested enough. We will soon start the last round of the game," William spoke and then turned towards Victor.

Victor smiled and swiftly appeared in front of one of the ten captives. He then removed the glove from his hand and touched the arm of the captive.

A grunt came out of the captive's mouth as all the visible injuries on his body healed completely after Victor touched his forearm.

"Now you can fight with all your might without any problem. Be honoured that a higher being is using his ability to heal you filths," Eliza cheered with her seductive voice.

Ethan watched the new vampire healing the captives. His eyes gleamed with excitement as he knew that he could finally use his talent. The excitement was making him light headed, however he tried to control himself and didn't show a bit of expression on his face.

Soon Ethan's time to be healed came. Victor gently placed his palm on Ethan's forearm.

Ethan without wasting any time activated his talent. He could feel his body healing rapidly and all the injuries disappearing at an insane rate. But Ethan didn't care about that a bit. His entire attention was on the timer of his Talent which required five seconds of physical contact in order to generate abilities for him to copy.

One second.

Two seconds..

'Three more,' Ethan desparately pleaded in his mind.

Three seconds...

Victor took off his hand from the forearm of Ethan after three seconds had passed, giving him no chance to generate the abilities.

'Fuuuuu***k,' Ethan cursed continuously in his mind as his talent deactivated after Victor had moved on to the next captive.

'Only needed two more,' Ethan was feeling a bit of a despair as a good opportunity to copy the abilities was lost. His expressions twisted but he quickly tried to calm down and control his expressions. His expressions quickly returned to normal but a storm was brewing inside his mind.

However the change in his expressions was caught by Eliza who was observed him. But she just ignored it, thinking that Ethan was in pain due to the process of healing.

Her eyes lingered on Ethan for another second.

'Quite good looking for an inferior being,' She thought before directing her gaze towards the other captives.

A compliment coming from the Vampire itself could help one understand how good looking Ethan actually was. It was not baseless for him getting tortured by the leader of kidnappers for being good looking.

In no time all the captives were healed by Victor who then returned beside William and Eliza after his job was done.

Suddenly William swiftly rushed towards the captives and dug his hand inside the floor of the room, creating a circle surrounding the ten captives who huddled closer as William circled them. The circle created by him was quite small allowing only fifteen people to stand properly without exiting it.

"Now all of you will fight each other the knife in your hand till one of you is alive. The fighting should be done inside the circle. Anyone who comes out of this circle will be killed by me," William announced the rule of the last round of the game.

"As for the reward," Eliza added. "The last person to remain alive in the ring will be given the honour to become my slave," She announced condescendingly.

The atmosphere between the captives became even more tense after the announcement. Each of them wanted to survive after all.

The captives looked at each other with a mix of fear and determination. They were all aware of the stakes, and the desperation in the room was palpable. William and Eliza stood at the edge of the circle, watching the captives intently, their expressions cold and impassive.

Ethan felt a surge of anger and resentment towards William and Eliza. He knew that though the reward for winning was an utter humiliation, but it was also his chance for survival. If he could survive now, then he would definitely a get a chance to copy Eliza's abilities. He clenched his fists, feeling the weight of the knife in his hand.
