Chapter 33: Dungeons and Difficulties

Valmus stared at the priest with an arched brow, his estimate of his stats were extremely accurate, frighteningly accurate that Valmus took an mental step back and accessed his situation.

A Level 100 NPC within a back water Village, positioned by the church, with a tired and almost sickly appearance.

He could smell a Quest from the Priest but didn't know of any ways to trigger it, he therefore replied to the Priest's claims.

" Yeah I'm stronger than most people, that's why I might seem abnormal."

" Is thats so? I won't pry too much into your matters since everyone has their own circumstances plus you've yet to lie to me." He chuckled briefly before adding, as a priest he had his means to tell truth from lies after all.

"If that's the case then I might require your aid Valmus, however before that to ease my heart I'll have you swear a heavenly Oath, I can't have the church's dirty Linel on display without precautions," he said with a sad smile before continuing.

" Repeat after me, by the Oversight of Vestia, I Vow not to reveal what I'm to learn to anyone outside this room."

Valmus repeated the vow and felt a tug in his chest as if a chain had suddenly lodged itself in.

" Good now then, Black water has been having a few skirmishes with the Cultists, they have their bases somewhere along the borders of the Barren lands and the Eurus Continent, we being on the border are tanking the brunt of their practices," he explained.

" If your still willing for a task, could you reduce their numbers as much as possible.

Although not powerful their numbers are too much. I've been at it for months now and the progress has been declining due to my lack of rest," he offered rubbing his eyes which were on the verge of closing.

" There's thousands of them who are at most level 30's, there's hundreds of them at level 50's, there's tens of them at level 70's and 1 level 100, and this is mearly a branch of the main headquarters."

" That's rather troublesome....."

" Troublesome indeed, but the 10 are injured and will be inactive for sometime as they'll probably go to the main headquarters to heal their wounds, the level 100 however is currently in the midst of a breakthrough based on our reports it'll take close to a month before he is even able to move.

This leaves their base with level 50's and 30's whose only advantage is their numbers and not their strengths.....that's why....are you still willing?"

"It's alright no problem.....but, I'll need a weapon and light armor, I can't fight bare handed now can I?" Valmus said faking embarrassment. He wouldn't recklessly reveal his possession of Divine and Immortal Grade items that would be stupid of him.

" Is that all? No worries then I'll even throw you a few potions, just reduce as many as you can and if possible locate their base, I'll appreciate the aid," the Priest smiled before leading Valmus to the church's vaults.

He then asked Valmus to pick a leather armor and weapon of choice while he added ten low grade health and Mana potions.

" Thanks Priest Anders, I'll return when the task is complete," Valmus stated before leaving the Church.

They were resourceful items which would be able to cover Valmus for a while, he went deeper into the forest before finally Equipping the items.

If he did so within the village, he'd surely attract unwanted attention which would hinder him considerably. After all a humans greed knew no bounds and he wasn't in the mood for needless slaughter.

' Black water has Six dungeons

The Rabbit Hole which is a Normal mode Dungeon for level 5 to 10 and finally

The Raven's Nest which is a Hard mode Dungeon for level 10 to 15.

The Wolf Den which is an Extreme Mode Dungeon for level 15 to 20.

The Rats Pit which is an Insane mode Dungeon for level 15 to 25.

The Boar Sty which is a Nightmare mode Dungeon for level 15 to 30.

The Bat Caverns which is an Abyss mode Dungeon for level 15 to 30.

Should I solo them, with my stats I am on par with a level one hundred but in real sense I'm mearly a level 0 so I'm actually within the confines of the Dungeon standards,' he mused before finally heading towards the said Dungeons.

He first ventured into the forest Areas with an abundance of the mentioned species and from then on mearly searched for oddities within nature

His First Dungeon was the Hard mode Dungeon Raven's Nest which had yet to be discovered.

At the Dungeon entrance hidden behind a foliage of trees, there was a hidden hole that extended underground.

Within it was a bronze Gate with a Single Tablet with only ten black numbers.

" With this I'll probably surpass the player base in no time," Valmus smiled before entering the now opened Bronze Doors.

<<Objective: Kill all the Ravens.>>

Inside was a dark forest with mist shrouding it, dried trees without leaves stood ghastly projecting a subtle feeling of dread.

Valmus took out his sword and heightened his sense as he slowly walked deeper Into the misty forest.

He was soon attacked by a Raven that came out of the mist, it's Talons and Beak were sharp, almost as sharp as steel. It's feathers were dark like the starless night and as hard as metal.

Valmus parried his stealthy attacker and countered splashing its wing, before wanting to add another strike as it fell but he stopped.

The Raven dropped dead in one hit unable to continue, Valmus looked down at the corpse with a satisfied smile.

He curiously pulled up his status screen wanting to know just how bloated his stats were.
