A smile tugged at the corner of my lips as I kept my eyes fixed on her silhouette from a distance. I felt a sudden rush of glee washed over my entire being when I saw her picking up my note along with the crystal container which I had left on her doorstep.
I wouldn't term it as a gift. It was more like a peace offering to her in regards to the newly formed relationship between us, our friendship. I didn't want her to leave my side any time soon, not at least until I had gotten some answers.
I accept that it was selfish of me to think that she might be the key to my lost and locked powers, but it was no longer the case. I wanted to explore the odds of her being my soulmate. I could see now why I had changed my mind. She wasn't half bad as a person.
For now, what mattered to me more was to find out what my vision meant? And if she really was the person from my vision and I had used that weird spell, which I could recite with ease for some unknown reason despite not being able to understand the words, then why didn't I remember the slightest of detail about it.
It couldn't have happened without me being there, and there was no chance of it being just a dream because it felt too real to be one. Now the main question was about the missing pieces of my memory, and I needed to find the answer as soon as I could.
A gust of wind passed by me leaving a tingling sensation in my ear. My eyes regained their focus only to find the door to her room shut.
"Damn! I missed her reactions."
I muttered under my breath while resting the side of my body against the wide tree trunk, mindful of my steps. Even though I would have barely gotten scratches after falling from this height lest any harmful injury, I wouldn't prefer the off-white shirt I was donning on, to look like a mess while I walk back to my own dorm.
It was a good thing that I was able to find a tall tree which would allow me to have a proper view of her dorm room just in time. Moreover, I was glad that it was heavily populated with green leafage. They acted as a protective barrier for me, hiding me away from her scrutinizing gaze as she looked around for the perpetrator who had disturbed her peaceful session with her own self.
But how could someone talk to their own self out loud? Having a chat with your own mind wasn't something unusual, but out loud? That was surely weird. On the bright side, I was beginning to like weird things these days, or people if I might say.
With these thoughts in my mind, I jumped down from the branch I was resting on, only to land on a lower branch. Leaping from one branch to another, I made my way down to the ground.
A couple of crunching sounds entered my ears as my feet made an impact with the ground while crushing the dry leaves which were accumulated on the forest ground. After dusting the little amount of dirt off my shoulders, I sauntered towards my own dorms with the hope that the next day would be better.

[Next Day]
I was busy talking to my friends in the hallway as there was still some time left before I had to attend the first class for the day, completely oblivious to my surroundings. We were having a discussion about the game plan which we might opt for our next match. I was too immersed in the conversation that even Dana wouldn't have been able to get my attention if she was to come and call my name.
But there was someone who managed to pull me out to the real world even from a distance. I shifted my gaze from Michael to the girl who had just made her way into the hallway.
There was something appealing about the way the locks of her white hair swayed as she walked with her eyes cast down on the tiled hallway. My eyes couldn't help but follow her every movement as she walked past me and my friends without looking up for even once.
"Let's discuss this during lunch time." I spoke up as I shifted my gaze to them. "I will see you guys later." I added before showing them a wide smile.
Not wanting to hear their protesting words, I retracted my steps away from them right after having my say. I had much more important things to do at the moment than discussing a damn game plan. Especially when it was almost the same for every other game. The least one could do is improvise it on the field.
"Hey!" I jogged my way towards her and called out loudly just to get her attention, which I succeeded. I saw her steps coming to a stop before she turned around to give me a faint smile.
The way she was looking at me made it obvious that she knew it was who had called her. And somehow, it made me a little elated. She continued to stay put in her spot as she waited for me to catch up to her.
"Where are you going?" I asked her the moment I approached her.
"I was going for a walk since there is still some time left in our first class. You can join me if you want, but I doubt that you are free at the moment." She offered me to join her for a stroll while complaining to me at the same time.
I gave her a questioning look as I couldn't comprehend what she was complaining to me about, only to get an eye roll in response.
I apologize for the delay in update, I was having a really bad headache and could only force myself to write half of the chapter.
This won't affect tonight's update, you will be getting it too after the daily reset.
