Sacred Weapons

And true to her feelings, the next page gave her the answers.

"Day 00, year XXX0.

I feel refreshed.

I won't go into details. Furthermore, I still feel hungry. Ronny was delicious.

I understand everything now.

The practice of Black Magic is distinct from the worship or deification of spiritual beings like the Spirits to produce beneficial outcomes for the practitioner.

Power, the most primitive desire of every single human being.

Black Magic can give that.

It causes destruction or misfortune, or to injure and kills without regard or remorse for human life. Dark Magic had the use of shadows. And it draws power from the hate and anger, or any other negative emotion inside the practitioner, user.

Dark Magic possesses the same capabilities as White Magic, though it appears to be slightly more potent.

Unlike White Magic, Dark Magic is not limited to evil Spirits, but also chanting, circle, and sacrifice laws. The user bound within circles is able to use their Dark Magic without cooperative aid from the Spirits.

I found something interesting. The only way to ward off the Dark Magic is using Sacred Magic. But only the Blessed ones, High Humans, and Devas can use Sacred Magic.

But because they are low in numbers, some of them have learned the blacksmith skills. Using spells and iron, with their strength, they've created many Sacred Weapons.

Normal Humans without magic can hold the Sacred Weapons.

The difference between humans without magic and humans with magic who hold a Sacred Weapon is the amount of Sacred Magic they can use.

But if the human holding the Sacred Weapon had some ulterior motives, the Sacred Weapon will deem those humans as an enemy, and it will decimate the human body and use the soul as nourishment.

Another catch is, the user of Dark Magic will die with one touch."

"Wow, I found something useful now. If I can get a hold of a Sacred Weapon, the Dark Magic will not touch my Second Royal Brother. It's perfect." A sigh of relief came out of Rosella's mouth. A heavy weighs lighter off her delicate shoulders.

'…'

[…]

An eerie silence fell.

"What?"

'I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm, but… there are only ten Sacred Weapons recorded in history.' The male childish voice threw cold water on her.

"What? Why!?"

[ During the war between the humans and the supernatural world, the Cherished ones, High Humans, and Devas made a thousand of Sacred Weapons. Each born with a White and Sacred Spirit.

Half of those held by the normal humans, without magic, and the other half held by magic users, humans with magic.

Each one of them fought with Dark Magic users and because the latter were stronger, the humans and magic users could not hold much longer. The Sacred Weapons' spirit saw the need to protect their possessor and chose to sacrifice. Using a self-destruction spell, they took the Dark Magic users' lives.

Only fifty of those Sacred Weapons survived. After that, years after years passed, many of them were forgotten, others lost. And the last ten remained Sacred Weapons, left out for the world to see.

Five of them were under the Human Kingdoms and the other five were under the supernatural world.

Two Swords, one dagger, one boomerang, one bow, one helmet, one war hammer, one mace, one frail, and one shield. There are the only ones recorded. As for if it is true, it is another story. ]

"I see…" nodding, Rosella, absorbed in the new knowledge, did not notice who was the one speaking just now.

"…"

'…'

'…'

[…]

"!!!"

'!!!'

'!!!'

"Who are you!?" Rising from the chair, Rosella looks at her surroundings with caution.

[ No need to fret, I'm the Guardian of this room. I saw your excited expression and paying attention to your words. I could not help but speak. ]

Rosella did not know wherever to laugh or cry in this kind of situation.

"So, the five kingdoms guard the five Sacred Weapons in the Human world?" asks Rosella to the Forbidden Room's Guardian.

[ Yes, each Kingdom has a Sacred Weapon exposed. And it's unknown if they've over one. Besides, only the King can become the host for the Sacred Weapon. And can only contract with one.]

Rosella understood, becoming a host is contracting with the Spirit of the Sacred Weapon.

The only thing she could not understand is…

"But… I've never seen my Royal Father weld any weapon. Nor even a sword." Muttered Rosella.

'Maybe he had it hidden?'

'Yes, it's dangerous leaving a Sacred Weapon a plain sight.'

The two King Spirits explained their reasoning.

Rosella nodded at their assumptions.

[ … ]

Only the Guardian did not want to comment about it. Some secrets are bound to be secrets until someone discovers them by themselves. But he could not help but thrown more cold water over their heated minds.

[ Even if he did not use it, the right to use the Sacred Weapon is solely the King's right. If the King is still alive, the next in line can't weld it. And the Sacred Weapon can only acknowledge the next King. ]

Rosella and the King Spirits understood.

She did not think further about the reasons behind her father's behavior. But she did not know, this kind of action, will lead her to lose something she cares about.

"Then, I've to search for a Sacred Weapon in secret and make my Second Royal Brother contract with the Spirit in secret, too. Protecting him from misunderstandings about the throne."

Rosella nodded at her own determination. Something is telling her she has to protect her Second Royal Brother. His eyes are too pure to be part of a disgusting Royal Family like the Cullen.

She wanted to continue the reading, but found that she had already read the last page. She found it weird…

What had happened to the owner of the dairy?

What had happened to the owner of the dairy's Master?

Did something happen to the Dark Magic?

So many questions, and no answer.

'Sigh!'

Rosella's sigh came, and the frustration grew.

"There is nothing else here. I hope to find something more about the Sacred Weapons in the White-Light Magic's Book."

She did not notice, but the part about the Sacred Weapons in the Black Book slowly vanishes by themselves when she was closing the book. And only the Room's Guardian discovered.

[ … ]

Those ten Sacred Weapons are real or are just recorded?

Will Rosella search for a sacred weapon in the other kingdoms?

Or will she search for the lost sacred weapons?
