Childhood Dreams

After a couple of days, Rosella and some maids are standing in front of a big bronze mirror in her personal chambers. Her white dress with red pompous lazes falling from her waist, and the open chest, makes her slender figure showcase her curves.

Her platinum-blond hair fell, covering a great part of the dress, in her luscious curls.

Seeing her chest area, she found herself lost in her memories.

Since she was a child, every dress had an embroidery wolf with a crown in her chest area.

She forgot the exact date, but she never forgot the reason. She always dreams about a black, big wolf. The majesty of the beast is so great that it made her bend on her knees. But every time she tries, the wolf will stop her with its head.

And when the wolf's head touches her, she can see a silver crown over its head, the crown had several gems, and one of them is sky-blue like her own eyes, and another one is purple.

Both gems are in the center and close to each other, complimenting the other, like they are twins, born for the other, such feeling makes her marvel at such sight.

She always wakes up after seeing those gems. But the deep impression of the majestic black wolf, with a silver crown, moved her heart. So, when she reached the age of six, when she can create her own crest, she decided to use a wolf with a crown.

In the Cullen Kingdom, when a royal member reaches the age of six, they can create a personal crest, and all their personal items, from weapons to clothes, carriages, and many other items will use as it represents their name.

The Wolf with a Crown represents the Cullen Kingdom's third princess, Rosella Cullen.

Remembering the majestic wolf, Rosella saw her reddened face reflected in the mirror.

The sound of the knocking door interrupted her thoughts.

"Come in." Rosella acknowledged.

"Princess…" Lilith came in after the order.

Lilith, the maid following Rosella since they were children. She lost her parents when she was 5 years old. Both of her parents were born commoners, when her father found a magical artifact left by a small sorcerer, he did not know its uses and activated the magic in the artifact itself.

A commoner doesn't use magic. They don't qualify to learn it or practice it. And Lilith's father, not having trained in magic, leads them to the small town extermination, and Lilith, who was with her grandmother in another small town, became the only survivor of the entire village.

If there is a commoner capable of using magic, some aristocrats will poach him or her. If the commoner wants to make a name for himself or herself, some aristocrats will deem his or her actions as a revolt and deem their existence as a threat.

The reason Lilith's father could use the magic in the artifact is that he had a talent for magic, but when the aristocrats were searching for talents, he was older than the required age.

Rosella remembers, that when she was 2 years old, she dreamed about Lilith's situation.

When Rosella found out the reason behind Lilith's father's death, she knew Lilith had a talent for magic. So, she sent her more trusted man to find her and bring her to be her playmate.

The King did not allow her to become a playmate, it was beyond a commoner's right. And only allow her to become her personal maid after a certain time of training.

Lilith was grateful to Rosella, and being three years older than her, she took seriously her job. But being with Rosella allowed her to study magic, and became one of her personal guards.

When Rosella was a child, she dreamed about many other people, and all of them were under her wings. She never understood her abilities, but she knew her dreams will never hurt her.

It is just… Since she turned 15, she never dreamed about anything.

"Princess, the Honorable Baldwin is asking for an audience with you."

Lilith never called her third princess, for her, Rosella is the only woman worthy of that status. The eldest princess is arrogant and conceited, the second princess is too timid and fearful. Compared with them, Rosella is the only one capable of withholding the title of princess.

"Oh, let him wait in the study room." Nodded Rosella.

"Yes, Princess." Lilith gave her obeisance and retired from the room.

Rosella then waved her hand to dismiss the rest of the maids.

"Yes, Third Princess." The maids bowed and retreated.

Rosella was left behind, sighing.

'He came faster than expected.' Murmured Rosella.

'Master, do you think he will make a move or will make you retreat?' Luca knew what was going on, and felt his master's emotions in disarray.

'Either way, I've to confront him sooner or later. He chose to stand by my eldest sister's side. Not mine…' lowering her gaze, no one could tell her current emotions.

Raising her head high, she left the room and strode towards the study room, a couple of doors next to her chambers.

When she stood in front of a white metallic door, the door opened, Lilith was waiting for her inside with a man in his thirties.

He had a dark, thick mustache. His black eyes were filled with wonder over a friendly, iconic smile. He had defined cheekbones, was dishy, and his every move was like a leopard-like grace. He wore high-class clothes, leveling his status in the Royal Castle.

Upon coming closer, Rosella can identify a mint scent around him.

He wasn't an over-attractive male, but he should have been when he was younger.

The Honorable Luis Baldwin. The man who taught her magic was formally her tutor.

He's Earl Baldwin's third son.

He doesn't stand in line to inherit the title because only the eldest son can. But because his talent in magic is higher than the eldest son in the House of Baldwin, he could become the third princess's tutor.

When he saw her, he gave her his best smile and bowed. "Third Princess."

When Rosella heard it, she closed her eyes, the disappointment in her heart was too high.
