Chapter Twelve

We hadn't been searching long when we found a kingdom. It appeared we were in the commoner's part of town. As I glanced around I notice many people with darker skin like the girl in my dream. I scanned the crowd for any sign of her. At this point, Sam only knew we were looking for a castle so they started asking around. The first few people we spoke to only said gibberish and we quickly started to give up when a young woman with pale skin and light, almost the color of cotton candy, blue and pink hair came up to us.

"Hello, how can I help you?" she asked

"Hi we're looking for a castle," said Sam

She glanced up shocked then laughed a kind bubbly laugh and said, "Won't find many of those around here anymore."

"Where do your rulers live then?" I asked

"We are ruled by our government. They are everywhere."

This was the first I'd ever heard of a government. I didn't know what to say about that. It seemed weird to me but it was how they lived out here so I guess I'd have to get used to it. This also made our job a whole lot harder. If their rulers didn't live in castles where would we find the girl? I started to give up hope when suddenly I noticed a girl walk by in a flowy purple dress. She had to be a princess.

I ran up to her, curtsied, and said "Hello your majesty. Could you please show me to your castle?"

She glanced at me, scrunched up her face, and walked away ignoring me.

I followed her and said "Let it be known I am royalty. I would just like to view your castle."

She started to pick up speed but I followed her. At this point, we had drawn a crowd and they began to follow behind not wanting to miss a moment. She broke out into a sprint and I stayed close behind her. She ran to a building marked police and flew through the doors.

"Help!" she yelled "This girl has been following me and won't leave!"

At that moment I burst inside the doors and before I knew what was happening I was in handcuffs. I struggled to escape. I couldn't have come all this way just to be brought back. I twisted and turned until I finally popped the cuffs off but then all the guards jumped on top of me, pinning me to the floor. I hit my head hard against the floor and was knocked out.
