Chapter Fourteen
She led me to a dark room with nothing but a desk and two chairs. On the desk sat some type of machine. From the ceiling hung a singular light; there was only one door and no windows. It reminded me of the prince's castle if it were run down and I laughed a little at the thought. I was still in my handcuffs which she tied to the back of the chair. She hooked me up to a weird machine and proceeded to sit down across from me.
"Why were you chasing the girl?" she questioned
"I thought she was showing me to her castle."
She nodded and asked, "Where are you from?"
"The fantasy kingdom."
She nodded again before continuing "Why are your ears pointy?"
"Genetic mutation."
She shook her head and said "I'm going to ask you one more time. Why are your ears pointy?"
"I already told you, genetic mutation."
She shook her head again and came over to untie me from the chair. She forced me up and half dragged me back to my cage.
"You stay here. Your trial's tomorrow."
Sam made a shushing noise in my ear so I stayed quiet and just stared at her. She left and the guard from earlier came back to keep watch. He just paced back and forth in front of the cell. Time passed and I started to drift off but forced myself to stay awake. After a long while the guard was barely awake anymore but neither was I. He finally dozed off and I started to when I heard a rustling next to me. I turned to find Sam had flown out of my hair and was fiddling with the lock to my cage.
"If I perform a simple unlocking spell it should open," They murmured
They pulled out their mini wand (It's really just a stick) and pointed it at the lock. They waved it around a few times and whispered something that sounded like stinky cheese farts and the lock popped off. I was free but the sound of the lock had woken up the guard and he jumped to his feet and slammed down a red button on the wall. Sam pointed their wand at me and said something I couldn't hear as a guard grabbed them. A guard lunged for me right as Sam's spell began to work and I disappeared.
