The Rat Race

The rat race—why is it called that way? The phrase equates humans to rats attempting to earn a reward, such as cheese, in vain. Why do we chase material goods such as cars, watches, and many other expensive material items? It's precise because we do not have them, which is why we chase them. Have you ever experienced that you wanted something, then after you got it, you felt really good for some days, then you felt nothing? All you feel is nothingness and dullness. Unfortunately or fortunately, I have already achieved this feeling of feeling nothing when I achieve these material goods; however, the downside is that I feel nothing most of the time. So what should we do? Is this a bad thing or a good thing? Is it bad to want to be rich and powerful if, at some point in life, you do not want to feel this because you have already achieved this in some shape or form? It's like you were born into a rich family, then you become an adult and have started to work as one of the working class, and if you're already satisfied with your life, you do not want to improve it since you have already experienced the life you wanted to chase, but then again, it's always different for people.

And that's it for today from my rumbling because I have already lost all my money in a week after my salary went in. I really should have started budgeting.
