4 A. First Feel

The two of them rested quietly, that night there was no distraction that required them to be vigilant, but they did not know if their existence had been noticed by some green creature. That night, Balam did not completely close his eyes, he was still half conscious, they were outside and in a dangerous world, far from safe, moreover they rested close to the lair of the goblins.

It was natural for Balam to be alert and half asleep, in contrast to Pino who slept quite soundly. Looking at Pino with a gentle gaze, Balam sighed, "Son ... how can you sleep this well, you should be more careful with the area around you, don't sleep this well."

Balam stretched all the muscles in his body, from the start he felt someone was watching him but he ignored it. Without having to check who was watching him, Balam already knew, they spent the night near the Goblin's lair, naturally there were several Goblins watching him.

After stretching his stiff muscles, Balam got up and immediately jumped into a tree, he was still on the tree. His eyes swept across the area around where he spent the night, he looked for the whereabouts of the Goblins who were watching him. Even though at night he was able to see clearly and also the moon was shining brightly, making his vision much clearer.

"Oh ... there you are, mingling with the bushes huh ... really sneaky. They are moving, son ... be careful, they are heading your way. Wake up ... don't fall asleep in your sweet dreams, there is a danger that threatens your life, "muttered Balam, he found the whereabouts of the goblins, and he saw the goblins come out of their hiding place, brandishing daggers and small swords, they were preparing to ambush Pino who was fell asleep.

Balam remained at the top of the tree, he hid his existence and quenched his bloodlust, observing the movement of the Goblins who were getting closer to Pino. Feelings of anxiety and worry began to eat away at his mind, seeing his only child in an uncertain situation, Pino was still drowning in his sweet dreams when the Goblins got closer to him.

Just paying attention to the situation from a distance, Balam did not come down to wake or help Pino. He drowned out any bad feelings in his mind, and watched the whole incident calmly. His fast breathing started to drown, his killing intent almost burst out of the bars inside him, fortunately he was able to withstand everything so that the Goblins didn't know his whereabouts.

The goblins were getting closer and only a few steps away from Pino, the five goblins approached Pino with slow footsteps, they were very careful. Every goblin that approached Pino started to get bloodlust, as soon as the opportunity opened up where Pino moved his body to the other side from where the goblin was standing. With lightning speed, the goblins swung their weapons.

Brakk...

One of the goblins attacking Pino flew and crashed into a tree with a cut right in the stomach. The goblins were confused as to why their comrade flew and received such severe wounds, they turned their heads to find out the origin of the attack, when their eyes were fixed on one point, they stared at that point angrily.

"Interesting ... I see, you already know their whereabouts but pretend to be asleep and turn your back to the Goblins. What a way to trick them, now what are you going to do, boy? After they lose their comrades, they will be much more violent than that. you think. The previous group that you eliminated… they didn't show their real strength because of my existence, now you are alone! "Muttered Balam, observing the battle from the top of the tree letting Balam know how much Pino had grown.

Four Goblins surrounded Pino, they attacked Pino one after another from one attack to another. Pino's sword swung incessantly, he repelled every attack that was aimed at him, his footsteps were so nimble even though his hands were busy swinging the sword, he dodged every attack, even though he was pushed and pressed.

"Are you just going to keep dodging, son? Use your feet ... attack them, aim for one of them and focus on finishing it, you have more power than this, it's a shame ... your experience is still minimal. Don't just rely on your sword to overthrow them, "muttered Balam, he was worried about Pino's condition not being able to get out of the encirclement of the Goblins.

Even though Pino had much greater strength than the Goblin, he was still lacking in real combat, just training without feeling the situation between life and death, would not make him progress. Balam was already holding his weapon firmly, he saw the Goblins as corpses, when he was about to get down and save Pino who was being pushed and pressed, he saw a quick and unexpected movement from Pino. A strong kick hit the neck of one of the goblins, sending the goblin flying and crashing into a tree.

Remaining three goblins, Pino swung his sword as fast as lightning, the path of his sword moved like the wind, dashing quickly cut through two goblins, leaving one goblin. Pino approached the Goblin who fell to the ground, he dragged his sword so that the ground split into a straight line, as soon as Pino got close to the goblin, he pushed his sword hard into the sky and made the goblin split in two.

The scene was bloody, the Goblin's organs were splattered and a rancid, strong smell forced its way into Pino's sense of smell. Balam was observing the whole incident and he had a bright smile on his face, he did not go down immediately but remained on the tree, he wanted to know what Pino would do with the breathing Goblins, of the five Goblins there were still living Goblins.

"Good choice, son. Don't leave behind the seeds of trouble, whether they are human or monster ... whoever threatens your life, they will have to pay the price. Killing two goblins who were already dying would be an appropriate mercy… not only did you erase the problem, you would also ease the pain they felt, "muttered Balam.

Pino swung his sword to clean the remaining blood from the goblin he killed. She looked different from a while ago, he was no longer nauseous and his face and eyes had a certain determination. He looked different, and the aura that was emitting from his body began to change. Turning and looking at the corpses of the goblins, there was a trace of displeasure in his eyes, but it was only for an instant, he felt uneasy.

"Killing ... like this feels ... It's very different when I kill an animal. That feeling is really terrible, did you forbid me from studying magic because of this? Was my decision to learn magic correct? Magic was far more terrifying than this, it could kill them like stepping on an ant. Huh ... I've decided to learn magic, so I'll use it well, and not disappoint Daddy, "muttered Pino.

He often heard the story of the heroism of a level 8 magician who became a legend, where he was able to bring down a mountain with just one spell. Hearing that story from Balam whenever he asked about magic, Pino was always excited when he heard it. He had wanted to become a magician since he was a child, but at this time he was a little confused about his decision because of what he had done, namely killing monsters.

Magicians didn't just fight monsters sometimes they would fight each other, which was certain. Moreover, he had heard Balam say about magic organizations that went astray instead of fighting monsters, they instead fought humans and wanted destruction, unfortunately he only remembered it vaguely.
