52 Chapter 52

[Third Person's PoV]

Alexia held Zenon's hand stopping him from using his sword and in one quick motion punched him in the stomach sending him flying backwards.

After their exchange was over both of them were panting, Alexia who was covered in cuts and slashes still had the will to fight and got back into her fighting position.

While Zenon was looking shocked at what is going on and at what just occurred 'There's no way! That's impossible, I'm the stronger one here. This should be an easy fight, I should be dominating her while she crawls on the ground begging for mercy, WE SHOULD NOT BE EQUAL IN STRENGTH...

I'm not going to use it, there's no way I'll use it against someone like her, using it would be the same as admitting that she's stronger. AND THERE'S JUST NO WAY!'

Just When they were about to engage they heard of sound of heavy metallic footstep coming towards them in a slow manner, making it more eerie.

With each step the atmosphere grew heavy and dark causing them to look ahead of them with trepidation.

A singular black knight walked towards them slowly with a hand on his bright blue sword to his hip.

Zenon pointed his sword at the black knight and demanded with caution "You identify yourself"

But the black knight didn't pay him any attention. And just made his way towards them with out stopping.

Igris the black knight stopped a few feet infront of the two of them. His action made both Zenon and Alexia take a step back unsure of what's to occur next.

Igris didn't pay them any heed and gracefully extended out his cape and waited. Alexia and Zenon seeing this just looked at Igris in confusion uncertain of what it wanted, they just stared at Igris purple glowing cape.

A foot then came out of the cape and as it set foot inside the dungeon Zenon was brought down right onto his knees, while Alexia was using all of her will power to remain standing. Alexia bit on her lip causing them to bleed, she was using the pain to remain standing.

'I am a princess of this kingdom I refuse to kneel before anyone'

Cid just coldly looked at them, well more specifically at Zenon.

They soon heard a cold voice that sent shiver down their spines.

"Pathetic... a child that just entered adulthood has more will power than you. What you are just feeling is 1 percent of my will, and it already brought you to your knees. What else can I say except... Pathetic"

Zenon had an enraged expression mixed with a crazed look in his eyes. First someone he considered lower than him matched his strength, then a being he had no knowledge of brought him to his knees and called him pathetic.

'Enough! That's enough, I will not be treated this way, I'm just one step away from becoming a member of the round. I should be treated with respect, not like this!'

Zenon quickly went into his coat pockets and took out a bottle of pills and quickly downed them in one shot.

He then started growing in size and in magic power, his magic power was practically leaking from his body due to how much he had.

Zenon's muscles started bulging out out off his clothes causing them to rip apart due to them unable to contain his size

Both Shadow, and Alexia who was panting heavily when the pressure came off of her just looked at Zenon in disgust.

They both then spoke at the same time "How disgusting"

Zenon didn't pay them any attention and just gripped his sword tightly, he then shot forward destroying the ground due to the force and rushed towards Shadow at full speed.

Shadow just raised a hand and tapped the sword with a finger causing it to freeze in place, which was followed by him slowly waving his hand and putting the same finger he stopped the sword with on Zenon's chest.

Zeno didn't even have time to process what happened, as soon as Shadow's finger touched his chest he was sent blasting backwards while breaking the sound barrier due to the force.

*BOOM*

Wall after Wall Zenon's body just ripped through them like paper.

Alexia just looked at this with her mouth hanged wide open she then muttered "What just happened"

Shadow just turned towards her causing her to freeze. Seeing her freeze up he smirks before replying "That sweetheart, was just a small redirectory of force, I absord all the momentum and kinetic energy from the sword, which caused it to freeze in place and I sent it right back at him which sent him flying"

Shadow's voice then grew colder "Now then"

Zenon came back limping slowly, slowly healing. "JUST WHO THE HELL ARE YOU" He roared

"Shadow. You may know me as Shadow, and it shall be the very last name your meager existence ever hears"

"I SEE SO IT'S YOU! You're the animal barking up our cult lately. You're strong I can say that much, i can see why you would become arrogant enough to think you stand a chance against the cult.

But unfortunately for you you're against Zenon Gryffie, the future 12th knight of the round! If you apologize maybe I'll consider taking you in and making you my subordinate, what do you say!"

Shadow just sighed before saying "I guess this is what doping does it makes you delusional. Which is followed by retardation apparently"

Zenon hearing him just sighed "Now you can't say the great Zenon wasn't merciful but unfortunately you are unappreciative of such a glorio-"

Zenon's word were caught short as Shadow now held onto Zenon's lower jaw "You know I'm getting sick and tired of your yapping"

Zenon with rage now present in his eyes flashes infront of Shadow.

'I couldn't even see him move anymore' thought Alexia.

When Zenon flashed infront of Shadow he started to madly swing his sword causing afterimages to appear. But Shadow would just wave his two fingers using it as swords and deflect all of Zenon's attack effortlessly

"How" Alexia whispered to herself

However Shadow heard her just find even in-between Zenon annoying cries of pain. "It's quite the easy concept to know but hard to reach. When you become as good with the sword as I have you become the sword. Anything and Everything will become a sword for you."

For example, Shadow just waved his two fingers and Zenon's arm was already off his body, after a few seconds Zenon fully healed and went into attacking once again but Shadow just kept waving his finger in the most plainful manner.

But to Alexia it's the most beautiful thing she has ever seen 'Is this the peak of this world'

Shadow then stopped and said "Im bored now, you have bored me, I have no use for something so boring"

Shadow then summoned a sword made of his slime and started coating it with his power. He turned his head towards Alexia

"Just now you thought that what I was doing was the peak of strength, that there was no way to get stronger right"

Alexia nodded. To Alexia what she just saw was the epitome of strength, the final destination when it comes to strength, to her at this moment that was the peak of strength.

Shadow's sword now glowed with a black and purple hue showcasing it's power. Shadow held the sword towards his face with it was facing upwards.

And in a deep voice he said "There is no such thing as the peak. The peak is a fruitless endeavor without ending... the peak is a bottomless well that never ends or has a bottom

The peak is an abyss"

Cid in a simple maneuver turned his sword and plunged it into Zenon who couldn't move a muscle since the beginning.

Darkness... that's all Alexia saw an endless darkness that has no end and swallows everything in it's path.

The capital as well as the entire continent were brought into this darkness. A fearsome darkness that if seen by those of weakwill would dissappeared if they stared too long.

A darkness so fearsome that light doesn't even dares and enter.

When Shadow unplunged his sword light was soon restored to the continent.

When Alexia opened her eyes she saw everything around her was gone, erased from existence, she was in a crater and inside that crater in front of Alexia's feet laid a dark hole that is impossible to see the bottom off...

Anyways I hope you enjoyed 🥰👋 today's chapter, I sure did, the reason I changed the ending is cause I wanted it to be something that represents him, him not having a peak and it just being an abyss meaning it's endless fits him well
