[Third Person's PoV]
As soon as Cid held his newborn twins, he felt a wave of relief wash over him. His first instinct was to check if, like their older sister Celeste, they too were reincarnated. A quick look into their innocent eyes reassured him—these two were untouched by any past lives. They were normal, pure, and entirely new to the world. He sighed, a subtle smile breaking through his usually composed demeanor.
He passed his son, Lorion, to Alpha, who gazed down at him with awe and love, her maternal instincts taking over as she cradled him close. Nearby, Beatrix, (who was totally in the room the entire time and witnessed the entire birth because the author didn't forget about her), edged closer, joining Beta by Alpha's side. She peered down at the two tiny bundles, her gaze tender, her lips curving into a small smile.
"They're beautiful…" Beatrix murmured, leaning over to press a soft kiss on Alpha's forehead. "Congratulations."
Alpha returned the smile, her eyes glistening. "Thank you… Here, would you like to hold her?" She gently passed their daughter, Loriel, over to Beatrix.
"Really?" Beatrix asked, surprised and a little hesitant, but unable to hide the excitement as she carefully took Loriel into her arms.
As Beatrix gazed down at the baby girl, her usually calm and stoic eyes softened, and for the first time, a glimmer of emotion broke through her usual composure. "She… she looks a bit like your mother," she whispered, a hint of nostalgia thickening her voice as her eyes began to mist.
Alpha watched with a tender smile. It was rare to see Beatrix show such raw emotion.
Just then, the others gathered closer, eager to see the new additions. Cid brought little Celeste over, seating her between himself and Alpha. Her eyes sparkled with delight as she looked at her brother, her little hand reaching out excitedly. "Bwby bwother…" she cooed with a twinkle in her eyes.
Alpha chuckled, leaning closer so Celeste could get a better look. "That's right, Celeste. This is your baby brother."
Delta, who had crouched by the edge of the bed with her tail wagging excitedly and ears twitching in anticipation, couldn't contain herself. "So… when can they go hunting?"
Cid and Alpha turned to her, both raising an eyebrow. "Delta, they were just born…" Alpha replied with a mix of amusement and exasperation.
Delta shrugged, an indignant huff escaping her. "So? The first thing Delta did when she was born was go hunting!" She puffed up proudly, clearly unaware of the humor in her claim.
Cid shook his head, a faint grin tugging at his lips. "I'm not sure if I should be impressed… or feel sorry for you."
"Probably dropped on her head as a pup, which is why she's so dense now," Zeta muttered with a smirk, earning a glare from Delta.
Delta growled, baring her teeth playfully at Zeta. "Careful, pussycat, or I'll show you who's getting dropped."
"Oh, I'd love to see you try, you mangy mutt," Zeta hissed, her eyes gleaming challengingly.
Both of them froze under a sharp gaze from Alpha. She looked at them with a cold, commanding expression. "Not here, you two. If this continues, I'll personally kick you both out of this room."
Delta's ears drooped, and she pouted, running her hand nervously along the bedside. "Sorry, Alpha…"
Their tension was interrupted by the sudden wail of the twins, piercing and insistent. Delta winced, covering her sensitive ears.
"They must be hungry," Alpha said, adjusting her clothing and preparing to nurse them. Beatrix gently handed Loriel back, and Alpha nestled both babies to her, watching with as they latched on.
Seeing them nestled against Alpha, Cid couldn't resist leaning in with a teasing glint in his eye. "Now, don't get too attached, alright? I'm only letting you borrow them for a bit for nutrition purposes," he said, pointing at the twins. "They're mine."
Alpha rolled her eyes, amusement dancing in her gaze. "Husband dear… Really?"
Meanwhile Celeste slowly turned her head upwards, her brows furrowed in confusion looking at Cid weirdly.
Cid chuckled and reached over, gently brushing his hand across Celeste's face. She swatted at the air getting into an invisible fight, annoyed. "Don't look at me like that,." Cid scoffed.
Before he could say anything else, he felt a light slap on the back of his head. Turning, he saw Claire standing there with an exasperated look. "What's the matter with you, Cid?"
Rubbing the back of his head, he muttered, "What? I'm just… protective of what's mine."
Claire rolled her eyes. "Maybe you should be more concerned with the fact that you're fifteen and already a father of three."
Celeste's head snapped up, a look of shock crossing her face. "Wah!?" It was the first time she'd ever heard her father's actual age, and she stared at him in disbelief.
Claire chuckled, lifting Celeste into her arms and cradling her gently. "That's right, sweetie. Your father was a bit of a wild one at such a young age. A natural born gigolo, can't keep anything in his pants."
Cid shot her a glare. "Don't say that to my daughter! What's wrong with you?"
Claire simply rocked Celeste, a teasing smile on her face. "She has to learn to stay away from guys like you. Just looking out for her early."
Cid paused, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Fair point…" He turned to Celeste with a serious expression. "Listen to your Aunt Claire, alright? Guys like me are bad news. Don't go for them."
Celeste nodded solemnly, as if making an important mental note. Cid's expression fell slightly. "Alright, you didn't have to agree that quickly…"
Laughter echoed around the room, filling it with warmth and joy. Cid finally settled beside Alpha, who looked up at him with tired but content eyes.
"So, how are you feeling?" he asked, brushing a strand of hair from her face.
Alpha gave a weak, but heartfelt smile. "Like I just gave birth… twice."
Cid chuckled, his hand reaching out to gently rub one of the twins' heads. "They're perfect," he murmured, his voice filled with love.
Alpha leaned back against him, sighing in contentment. "Yes… it was all worth it."
