prologue ig?

   "Click click click"  Sounds of a keyboard being typed are heard in an office. 

      Feeling the oily keyboard keys clicking away against my sore fingers all I can say is "Another day done". What did you think I'd stand and scream to the roof for being born in such a bland and dreary world? 

     Rising from my chair and giving a stretch cracking my joints I head to clock out. This is how my job usually ends, there is little to no deviation from how it goes every day. I walk and greet my coworkers with a fake smile and wave continuing in this routine until I'm near the exit, feeling a tap on my shoulder I sigh.

     Turning on my worn shoes I see the embodiment of bubbly joy. This young woman has the brightest personality I've ever seen. I've always found it strange why tries getting close to me we're exactly what would be called opposites. You have me a man who's apathetic to the extent of caring little for his own life and then this petite ball of passion. 

    " ~Hey! Ryan, are you heading out?" The brunette looks at me with those brown eyes full of passion. How does she have this drive? What does she have that I don't? I ask myself these questions every time I see her, still, no answer comes to me.

    " Yes, I am thankful as always for you asking June." My voice comes out monotone as always, June seems to notice but ignores it. It's normal after all. Reaching her hand out and tapping my shoulder again. "~ Ryan you weren't planning on leaving without me again hmm?" Squinting her eyes attempting a glare it comes out unsuccessful, perhaps even cute.

     Sigh. "No, let's just go June, no need to get worked up." Of course, this is a lie, not that I hate June, she's just too bright.  "Hmph." With a snort, June walks alongside me trying to create small talk. Leaving behind the idle chatter of the office we head to June's car.

   Replying half-heartedly to June's gossip, I pull the handle of her car and slide in, her perfume is the first thing I notice once in. She always keeps her car clean, something I can appreciate.

   "~You know Ryan you need some more people in your life, not like I'll ditch you or anything it's just so easy to tell you have no real push that's keeping you moving forward." Pinning me with her gaze she says with concern. Honestly, June is too smart for her own good, an airhead perhaps but smart nonetheless.

   Waving my hand back and forth. " You know me, I have my books and manga to keep me company. Why involve people and drama?"

    "~Pfft you know no one would ever think you read that stuff. Oh, yea do you think I can borrow some more manga?" Putting on a miserable appearance and grabbing my arm she asks. "Yes yes, you can have some just let go you, airhead." Shaking my arms free I honestly don't understand her behavior sometimes.

   Giving a cheeky grin she starts the car.  Shaking my head at her antics I grab my bag and pull out the new volume of The Eminence In Shadow. This novel has to be one of my favorites, the protagonist has such a great passion for playing his shadow broker role it's pretty admirable. The only thing I dislike is how dense the protagonist is towards the women that love him sigh. If I had the chance….

    "Squeak" The familiar sound of my apartment door opening greets me. "June, did you have to follow me to my apartment?" Walking in and taking my shoes off I side-eye at the brunette who just had to come with me. Crossing her arms. "~That's not the proper way to welcome someone in Hmph." I can see the amusement and smugness on your face, you know.

   Sigh. "Please come in and make yourself at home," I say with a twitch of my lip, why does this woman have to be so persistent. She walks in, peels off her shoes, and flops right onto the couch with no hesitation or anything like she owns the place. She looks around for a bit then looks at me tilts her head and puts on her signature puppy eyes. "Manga?" Shaking my head I go to the bookshelf, grab some manga and hand them to her. 

   Sitting down near her leaving personal space which she invades by scooting right next to me. Sigh "I thought you were gonna get the manga and go to your place?" She glances at me. "What would you do without me huh? I'm just being a good friend and keeping you company." Then she continues reading and I begin reading my novel as well.

   As this time passes in silence. Until June yawns and looks at her phone. "Ryan, I gotta go and cook for my sister. I'll make sure to give your manga back tomorrow." With that, she puts on her shoes and creaks the door open, and speaks with her back facing me. "Hey Ryan, my sister wants to go to the amusement park. She asked if you wanted to come. So what do you think?" She's standing there playing with her hair waiting for me to reply.

   I shrug. "Sure just text me the time. Bye June see you tomorrow." "Yea see you tomorrow goodnight Ryan."

   At night laying in bed I'm trying to figure out why June keeps trying to get me to hang out with her. Ehh whatever I'll think about it tomorrow. Thinking about the novel I just binge read I can't help but wish something like that'd happen to me. Sigh but it's all fantasy. If I got reincarnated as Cid Kagenou I think I could play the shadow broker part and I definitely wouldn't be as dense as the origin when it came to women. 

   With those thoughts, I drift to bed…..

[Ok Idk why I wrote such a prologue that the only focus was him hanging with June. My original plan was to show some of how he acted before he gets reincarnated as Cid. But as I was writing I just gave up and went with what I did.

Also if you have any issue with the way I'm writing and like it's just unsatisfactory lmk so I can try to fix it. 

I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with this fanfic. But I'll probably stick to the main plot of the original work and try to add my twist to it. And this is going to be a harem if you've read the original work you'd know he had multiple girls that ended up liking him so idk. I'll probably add his sister to the harem to bc she always gave me the feel of a brocon so if you're not into that it's an FYI.

Also, I don't own any of this. It's all the work of the original author. So if you end up seeing this and don't like it, I'll take it down. Okay, that's all lmk about my mistakes and I'll try to improve. 

Oh yea I'm just planning where he goes to bed and wakes up as an infant cid with the original's combat experience. So yeah thanks guys!]
