Mob A, Meet Mob B

Cid was now eating what was left from Yukikaze's beef stew, thinking nothing may happen soon and he would just return to mind his own business.

'.... I want to have a taste on tea soon.... Maybe she can give me some? Ah, I almost forgot I am acting as an NPC, but is it possible?'

His expectations, however were diverted when two people had approached him and Yukikaze.

By the looks of it, they were both brother and sister.

One was a heroine, and the other....

He made his own mob senses tingle to the extreme.

'This feeling... That barely noticeable aura, that bland look, that's.... Another Mob Character with his Heroine Sister? Here's the question; are you a Mob, or a Stereotypical Protagonist?'

The fellow mob Character looked pretty timid, as he was minding his business, it should be the time for a minor plot to happen.

"H-hey, you! Please return Yukikaze's meal to her!" The boy asked, just as Cid had already finished it. ".... Ah, too late."

".... Rude." Cid replied bluntly, putting the bowl down.

Yukikaze, having heard the boy who knew her, naturally turned her head to take a look at the new people she was very familiar with.

"Rinko-nee, Tatsurou-kun! What brings you here?" She asked, and Rinko crossed her arms below her chest.

"I didn't know you made a new friend, who is he?"

"He's Cid Kagenou, and we've been together for a while now, it's not much but.... he's been a great help to me."

Cid was introduced to the two of them by Yukikaze before he could, and it was making the two of them confused.

So he stood up himself to face the two to bow in front of them.

"Nice to meet you!" He said, briefly letting the two introduce themselves to him and allowing him to know who they are.

Tatsurou and Rinko stared at Cid, their faces lightly brightened up the moment they remembered something about him.

Hey, you're the one who gets late to your class most of the time, and... erm... gets punished a lot by the P.E. teacher..." Tatsurou commented, feeling a bit weak after mentioning the latter.

Cid wryly chuckled in embarrassment as that was mentioned. Thankfully this was just an ordinary interaction between mobs.

"Yeah... Cid the Masochist Taimanin, was it...?" Rinko spoke, recalling a title that was given to Cid by secret a few weeks ago.

She overheard it that time, and it sounded quite good.

"Eh... Am I really that popular?" He wondered why would a mob character like him be given such a title.

It's stupid, yet fitting for someone like him.

"Maybe? Barely anybody talks about you. Why don't you talk to my brother then? Me and Yukikaze are going to engage in very private talk, simple as that."

With that said, Yukikaze and Rinko slowly left the cafeteria, leaving Cid and his fellow mob alone.

Outside the cafeteria, the two looked at each other, wanting to speak something yet couldn't. At least for a while.

"I thought you and Tatsurou were together? What happened?" Rinko started the conversation, speculating whoever Cid is other than being the Masochist Taimanin.

".... Tatsurou..... I just don't feel like he is into me. I mean, of course he's kind, timid and shy, he's just a friend now that Cid is here." She admitted with a reluctant frown, causing Rinko to feel a few emotions.

One which was of disbelief.

"Yukikaze! You shouldn't say that!" Rinko reprimanded with a serious face, denying the fact that she is not gaining much interest on her brother.

It's not fair, truly!

But, it's up for someone like a big sister like her to begin acting. That's why she feels like being strict to the two.

"That brat, I'm going to talk to him!" Rinko had decided to confront Cid, but a tug was all that was needed to pull her attention to who she considered a younger sister.

"Rinko-nee, please understand.... Cid and I are very good friends, it would be bad if you suddenly tried to be between us!"

"... A-Alright, but I still want to talk to him."

Meanwhile....

Cid, however, didn't really have time to waste with another Mob Character who smells like a protagonist, so he took the trays to the counter to let a woman take it to the kitchen and walked alone.

"Hey, wait for a moment!" Tatsurou yelled, following after him to the hallway. "Let's talk, okay?"

"No way," Cid replied, clearly having zero intentions to interact with a fellow mob.

Tatsurou: "I mean, I still have questions for you, you know? Erm... Let me just ask this: what do you think about Yukikaze?"

Cid: "Her? Well, I think she's cute. For her own size. She's not really that open in terms of her own emotions, but she sometimes helps me, even if I don't really need it."

Cid's reply was honest and not really much of a lie since most of the time, the two of them play fighting games together without realising they were already dating.

Tatsurou: "... I see. I am her childhood friend, and... Uh... I don't know, we haven't been together for a while..."

Then the black haired mob glanced at him with blunt disappointment, something that made Tatsurou stop in his tracks.

'.... What kind of lie is that? Hey, I know you said that earlier, but I do guess she knows you, but I don't really feel like she has feelings for you.' Was Cid's internal judgement towards Tatsurou as it was figured by him through logical thinking.

He couldn't really help but have some dislike on the character, so what even is the point of this?

Shaking his head, he proceeded further down the hallway, and the stairs leading up to his room were almost near.

While they were passing through, the two noticed a blonde, tanned student bullying a student.

The two stopped and took glances at what was currently happening. Tatsurou is shaking on his boots, taking a step back knowing who that blonde bully is.

He is involved with many of the bullying sessions that happened in his life, that's why he naturally felt afraid of the bigger man.

And Cid is just as nonchalant as he should be, even if he was quite disappointed about the mob that was following him like a dog.

'He's still following me? Shame, guess I'll have to use the Mob Art: background blending distractive escape!'

"Ohoho~ you still have money there, pinkie? Come on, pay up or else!" Bully NPC said with a cruel grin, gesturing towards the girl to give him any money.

"B-but...! My money isn't mine, let me go!" The girl replied, but one of his hands had put pressure on the girl to keep her on the wall.

"Umm... Sh-should we leave? I think we should." Tatsurou asked wryly, glancing at Cid while looking like he wanted to not be involved to something bad.

But Cid was having none of his cowardice as he used his Void Art to displace a nearby pebble outside the academy to his fingers.

Then with a strong, quick flick, he launched the pebble to the side of the head of the bully, knocking his head to the side briefly just as his hand began to grope on the poor girl.

This was done so quickly that nobody noticed it.

Naturally, Cid smoothly turned to the stairs and started to walk to where he needed to go.

"Ow!?!? Who did that, he's going to pay instead!" Bully NPC yelled out, looking towards the direction he was hit.

The Bully NPC never noticed Cid as he looked like a passerby minding his business, but he did notice Tatsurou.

"Tsk, why you.... Out of all places, it had to be this doormat of a bigger masochist...."

"Aaahh! Rinko-nee, Yukikaze-chan, please help me!"

Due to irritation, the bully decided to begin hitting Tatsurou while the girl he was bullying decided to run away to call for help.

Although the beating was long and rough, Tatsurou managed to survive through all that before he was saved by Rinko.

He wanted to blame Cid, but at that point, he thought: "I... Can't blame him much, really. He saved someone, but risked mine. Should I have done better? I don't know...."

Soon, he found out that he and Yukikaze are now officially broken up, causing him to feel grief. Due to his nature he never confronted Yukikaze or even Cid, instead silently keeping it inside him.

"What do I do?" He asked, wondering why, without obtaining the right conclusion, further making him feel inferior.

In the afternoon, Cid was surprised to have been invited by Rinko to the gym.

What does she want now?

Author's Note: I might have made Tatsurou look even more pathetic than he originally was, I guess? He will be relevant at sometime, though.

Also he is pretty confusing to write, leading to some delays in writing, sorry about that.

.... Aight, I made little drama, not gonna lie. I just have to tone this part down a bit when using this later on....

Fun Fact: Mob Art, or NPC Ninja Art, is a Stealth type Ninja Art Cid created all by himself ever since he was 5 years old in his new life, hours after he awakened his ability to use his Void Art and manipulate Taima Particles.
