The First Wave

Once he had killed the boss and was heading toward Cayron to see what he was doing, something stopped him. That thing was the message he wanted the system to give him at that time.

[Due to the non-difficulty you are currently experiencing in the quest you will be transferred to a more difficult instance]

[Please choose whether you will do it alone or with your teammate. 1 minute remaining before the teleportation]

Seeing this, Kila hurried to Cayron to ask for his opinion. He certainly wanted something harder, but he also couldn't bring Cayron to his death. It was his friend so he would do everything to protect him, and he couldn't force him into something where he had no information.

"Cayron, I got a message from the system that says it's going to teleport me to an instance harder than this one" Kila told Cayron "And he asks me if you want to come with me or not" Kila continued with a smile on his face, anticipating his answer.

"Hmm.... Indeed, I don't see myself waiting here another 3 days for the next boss so let's go," Cayron replied, sending a smile back to Kila. As he had said, it became extremely boring to fight against such slow enemies. He needed a little stimulus or he would die from boredom.

Kila then accepted the message with a teammate and moments later, their vision had turned completely blank. Once the teleportation was over and the colors were coming back, the two boys saw that they were in something resembling an arena. There were wide walls around the structure that form a circle, a bit like a Colosseum.

Once they had come to their senses, another message from the system appeared before them.

[Welcome to the Colosseum of Bosses.

Here, you will fight during 3 consecutive waves, without any rest.

As soon as the last boss of the first wave is killed, the second wave will begin immediately, and the same will happen for the third.

To make things fairer, you will have full control of the element you are currently mastering, and those, only for the duration of the test.

Be careful, death will be definitive.

As a reward, you will be able to ask the system for something of your choice.

If you come out of this ordeal alive, you will also have finished the dungeon of the slime kingdom, and thus obtaining the rewards of the latter.]

Reading this, Kila and Cayron swallowed their saliva bitterly. It wasn't the fact that they were scared, far from it, they were even excited. But fighting for three consecutive waves without rest also means that their mana will not be able to regenerate between fights. They will therefore have to use their mana wisely so that they do not die as soon as they start the next wave.

However, even if there was that, the fact that they could perfectly control their element was a huge advantage. Kila will be able, for example, to freeze the entire arena so that things are to his advantage if his reserve of mana allowed him. As for Cayron, he could simply control the molecules around their enemies so that they could no longer breathe, or simply attack at the speed of sound, but like Kila, only if his mana allowed him.

A few seconds later, after organizing their thoughts, the ground, or more precisely, the entire Colosseum began to shake. Soon after, a few things appeared on the ground in front of them.

Not knowing what it was, Kila and Cayron took a few steps back, and once they were at a good distance from the thing on the ground that looked like a futuristic module, a kind of blue and white light appeared in front of them, about the size of a man. A few seconds later, things began to come out of this light.

Seeing this, Kila had a small idea of what the ground module could be. From the light it ejected, he could only think of a portal. If it wasn't that, he didn't see anything else that could bring things, or rather monsters in this case, from one place to another.

Once the three monsters were out of the portal, Kila and Cayron were finally able to see their shape, and to their surprise, they were 3 slimes. One of them was red, not flamy red but rather bloody red. One of the other two was flash yellow while the last one was green. However, it was not green like wind slimes, but rather a natural green, so surely having control over the wood.

Seeing them, Kila swallowed his saliva bitterly. His elements were almost ineffective against the green and yellow slimes if their elements were what he thought. As for the red slime, if his "element" was indeed blood, he was sure that he could finish it in a few seconds. If he did have perfect control over the water, then he could undoubtedly control the blood and thus explode the slime from the inside by bubbling his "blood".

"Cayron distracts the yellow and green for 15 seconds, I take care of the red during that time," Kila told Cayron who immediately agreed, seeing that the slimes had already started to move.

The yellow slime was the first to attack. He threw a flash from inside his body that was heading directly towards Kila. Seeing this, Kila was about to summon a wall of ice, but before he could even attempt to create it, Cayron came before him and immediately cut the lightning with his sword.

"Don't worry about them, I'll do my job so go kill the red one and come and take care of them afterward," Cayron said with a smile to Kila. He knew very well that he could not kill them alone, knowing that he did not know how the wind could work, or more precisely the advanced forms of the wind. He had certainly created a tornado, but he could not see himself creating gravitational fields with winds that attract towards the center of the field to hinder the movements of his opponent... So he could only count on Kila on that one.

Kila then began to run towards the red slime who was preparing a spell. When he raised his head to the sky, where the mana particles were gathering, he saw a huge magic circle covering the entire Colosseum.

The circle was red in color, and strange writing could be seen on it, coming from a language that Kila had never heard or seen in his entire life. However, even though he didn't understand the symbols of the magic circle, he knew what spell was being prepared. Very few spells involving blood could gather a cloud at a certain place.

A cloud that, after a while, will raindrops of poisoned blood. This poison was peculiar because it tried to erode things at an extreme speed, and if the thing affected was a human body, then the latter will begin to disintegrate at the place where the drop will fall. And knowing that it will rain thousands and thousands of drops in a few moments, Kila had to act quickly.

He then began to replace the red cloud with his cloud. Among the properties of water was water in the gaseous state, so it was quite normal that it could surpass the spell of slime when his mastery was supposed to be at its maximum.

The red cloud then began to take on a blue hue, and after a few seconds, the latter began to lower the temperature inside the Colosseum, causing frost to appear all around the battlefield. Once the cloud had turned completely blue, Kila gathered it just above the red slime before the cloud began to emit blue and white light in the center of the latter.

A fraction of a second later a huge magic circle was created in the middle of the cloud with shades of blue and white.

"Oh, monarch of ice. You who freeze an entire continent with a movement of your hand, rain down the sword of icy dreams on my enemy," Kila incanted.

Kila knew very well that incanting spells was very embarrassing. So much embarrassing that people had started to incant in their heads over time.

However, even if incanting a spell out loud was considered embarrassing, he could not deny the fact that spells became more powerful by doing so. The difference was minimal between an incantation aloud and in the head, but this difference could help him win this fight.

There were also incantations in spirits language, but Kila, unfortunately, didn't know it. He never thought the world could change so much. But even if he knew about it, it would have been very to learn it given the relationship between humans and other races.

After the incantation, a second circle appeared on the first, thus making the spell more powerful. Kila's plan had worked perfectly. Normally, to reach the stage of the 2 magic circles, a level much higher than 5 was required. And yet, he had proved the opposite.

The magic circle then began to emit a dazzling light, and after a few seconds, the tip of a sword began to descend from the cloud. This sword descended at a rather normal speed, but every time it went down, one could see how big and wide it was.

Once the sword pommel could be seen in the sky, the tip of the sword pierced the red slime, killing it on the spot. However, things weren't ending there.

After the slime was sliced in half, the sword sucked in its vital energy, creating a blue rose on the pommel. After its appearance, vines, or should I say brambles, began to spread across the Colosseum. These brambles quickly arrived at the other two slimes that were fighting Cayron and began to tight them, thus freezing them on the spot, then smashing them into a thousand pieces because of the brambles that tightened on themselves.

Again though, the brambles didn't stop there. This time, they were spreading throughout the Colosseum, and after a few seconds, it was covered under a wide layer of ice.

Just before the sword create this phenomenon, Cayron was fighting against the other two slimes. He managed to do a pretty good job against the yellow slime, but that was another matter for the green one. The yellow one only threw lightning in a straight line, leaving Cayron the choice of dodging or cutting the lightning.

However, the green kept creating vines to hinder his movements, and sometimes even tripped him, putting him in delicate situations. However, he still managed to regain the balance narrowly, but in return, he couldn't find an opening to attack.

It was then that he began to think about Kila. He knew he had to come and help him in a few seconds now, but he couldn't help but be jealous of him. He had a class that allowed him to do so many things, while he didn't know how to do anything.

He didn't know that Kila was able to do all this thanks to his knowledge and imagination that never stopped, but he had absolutely nothing to do with it. The only thing he wanted was to have his power to do things as great as him.

That's when he felt cold air around him. When he turned his head to his left, he saw a huge blue sword touch the ground, killing the red slime on the spot. Seeing this, he began to bite his lip. He bit himself so hard that he even began to bleed.
