A New Life (1)

[Code #7693 will be reincarnated in a few moments]

***

In an extremely dark forest that usually sheltered no living beings except hungry monsters and adventurers who came to hunt them, a faint figure gradually began to wake up.

This figure was dressed in a simple T-shirt and white shorts. He was barefoot, had blood-red eyes and snow-white hair that let out a bright glow under the glow of the full moon.

"Gosh, I never thought this reward would have been so useful," The young man said after fully recovering. "And Cayron, if I find you... »

"*Sigh* Stay composed Kila. There's no point in getting upset about something like that. But if find you I'm going to pierce your ass fuc*ing bastard"

The reward Kila had asked the system for before he died was to survive or reincarnate in this world. And from the result, it seems that it worked.

After observing his surroundings, he felt glances upon him. He didn't know how but he was sure that something or someone was observing him. After a few moments, beasts came out of the back of the trees. These beasts look like white wolves but in much larger and wider. It looked like bosses but didn't have the aura of bosses either. They could only be monsters of a higher level than what he had seen so far.

Before the wolves could jump to attack him, he decided to create an ice sword and some bubble around him to protect himself and prevent them from getting too close. However, when he tried to focus on making his spells materialize, nothing happened. Not understanding why his skills weren't activated, he tried to find the reason. However, he had not noticed that one of the three wolves had started rushing towards him at full speed and that the latter was preparing to bite him

Still thinking, he was bitten right in the right part of his abdomen, causing a shock throughout his body because of the pain and bringing him back to reality.

He couldn't think calmly in the middle of a fight. A fight that could cost him his life if he was not careful enough. Gritting his teeth to ease the pain, he managed to hit the wolf, smashing the bones of his head thanks to the little momentum he had managed to gain by swinging his arm up and down, like a hammer.

Gradually losing his life, the wolf let his teeth in the abdomen relax which allowed Kila to jump backward to prepare for the next fight.

However, this time, he couldn't help but smile at the sight of the two wolves in front of him. He certainly still didn't understand why he couldn't use his spells, but it seemed that he had gained a whole new power, or rather a whole new body. He could never have imagined in his last life that he could kill a wolf with a simple blow to the skull.

Certainly, he could have caused damage with a blow like this, but never killed them. During his rush of adrenaline, he also received a message from the system making his smile grow to a point that he looked like a demon.

[5000 XP received for killing a white wolf]

Patiently waiting for the monsters to take the first step, he prepared himself for any eventuality.

He prepared in case of a ranged attack such as wind blades that would not be surprising for agile monsters like wolves, he also prepared for a certain skill such as an increase in agility or strength that could turn the fight in their favor. Even with a semblance of an improved body, he could hardly see himself stopping an attack that could be as devastating as a cannonball. 'Prevention is better than cure, he thought deep down.

"What's going on? Are we afraid? Pfft, no wonder" Kila sneered at the two monsters in front of him, even if deep down he was not as confident as outside. But, bluffing had never hurt anyone.

The two wolves who understood what Kila had told them began to get angry. They then rushed to him like the previous one, without any apparent improvement. Once within range, they threw themselves at him before Kila ducked to dodge their attack.

He then threw his fist upwards to directly attack the wolf's abdomen to his right. The struck monster having died instantly began to fly before crashing to the ground, while the last survivor landed on the ground at the back of its prey before seeing the lifeless body of the wolf that had accompanied him a few moments before.

"Pfft, pathetic" Kila Provoked once again.

The wolf then began to run again to shut the mouth of the human who was in front of him. But, unfortunately for him, his prey simply dodged his attack by shifting to the side before swinging his arm toward him in a straight line, thus bringing the wolf directly on the bottom of one of the many trees.

Kila had simply used the speed of his enemies against them, making the fight extremely easier than what was supposed to be.

Having killed all his assailants, he fell directly on his buttocks, huffing and puffing very hard because of all that he had just experienced. It would seem that his body had trouble holding such an intensive exercise just after his reincarnation.

After a few minutes of rest, he got up and also looked at his wound in the abdomen.

Against all odds, the latter had closed, or rather healed on its own, which made him extremely happy, but also extremely perplexed at the idea that a wound could close on its own so quickly.

He was also happy to have won his first fight since his reincarnation and on the same occasion having gained enough experience to level up. It had been a long time since he had leveled up so this alone was the greatest of his rewards.

He also thought that he might find the reason why he had failed to use his elemental powers. Who knows? With a little luck, he will find the reason.

So he decided to open his status, only to be even more puzzled than before.
