Darius

Darius is a 10 year old kid from a family, not so rich and not so poor. He is a boy with great ambitions, he always heard about many great people we with magical powers.

The little Darius also want to obtained magic and become someone great. He also heard about a second type of people who obtained magic and use it for selfish gains and evil ways.

Darius wants to stop such cruel people from destroying places and lives.

The little Darius wakes up and make his bed, wash his face and brush his teeth.

Darius come down from the stairs greet his parents and and ate his food. His father is a soldier with some high ranking but after offending an arrogant noble he was stripped off of his rank.

His mother is a fire mage, she is an adventurer and even made his father joined.

Darius is also looking forward to becoming an adventurer, Adventurers are mostly called hunters.

"Bye mom and dad, I will go and visit Jack" Darius said as he went out.

"Alright, make sure you come before lunch" His mother said as she waved at him.

"Don't worry I promised I will" Darius run outside as he wave back at his mother

As Darius walks the street he greets people with open smiles, Darius seems to know everyone on this street. Darius quickly spot Jack and quickly run towards him. Darius takes Jack as his elder brother and he always told him about whatever he finds out and Jack is also his cousin.

"Little Darius, what did you find out today?" Jack asked. Jack is about fifteen years of age and he is much taller than Darius.

"Guess what? I am joining an academy, I will soon be a mage. And I want to ask for a favour" Darius said enthusiastic and he looked at his brother with pleading eyes.

"Alright, I know the reason you came to me early in the morning is because you want something. So you will not meet me unless you want something right?" Jack Said as he twist Darius ears.

"Darius is sorry and will not do that again. Little me just want to ask mighty brother Jack to help me got in to the martial arts hall he practiced before he join fighters academy. I want learn how to gather energy, make my body a lot stronger so that I can handle the mage training" Darius said as he winced.

"Getting you in will not be a problem but it depends on you to pass the test. Is not that I am underestimating your capabilities but the training there is like going through hell on earth" Jack seriously said.

"Don't worry brother, I am ready for it." Darius said as he tried to look tough and stand straight like a soldier.

"Why do I feel like you are hiding something?" Jack look at his little brother suspiciously.

"Uhmm you see... Is umm

" You don't have to lie, i already know you long enough to know how you behave when you are hiding something to someone. You behave like this when you are hiding something from your parents, I will not take you there unless you asked for permission" Jack said with a knowing look.

"You know how my mum is, she will say oh my little cute baby boy is not going there, he will get hurt." Darius Imitate how his mother will react.

"You still must ask for permission" Jack insist.

"Alright I will be back soon" Darius said as he run back home to ask for permission.

Some moments later...

"Darius, you are back so soon. Are you feeling hungry or you fight with someone?" His mother asked.

"Mum is none of that" Darius said.

"Then what is it?" Madeline questioned with a raised brow. His mother's name is Madeline.

"I want to ask for permission" Darius said as he fidget with his fingers.

"About what?" Madeline asked.

"I want to join the fist of Truth, you know, that martial arts hall" Darius slowly said as he is afraid that she will say no.

"Of course you what my reply is" Madeline said.

"Please" Darius pleaded.

"No, sweetie you can't go there. You are still a kid" Madeline insist that Darius will not go.

"Please mum, I really need it" Darius pleaded with puppy eyes.

"Until your father say so" Madeline used the legendary diversion technique used by parents to divert the request to his father.

After a series of argument about the advantages and disadvantages of going

To the fist of light between Darius and Robert and Madeline.

"Is for your own good, you see that fighter training is not one bit easy" Madeline said as she try to stop Darius from going.

"If you were a bit older I will take you there my self. Don't rush, take your time and slowly but surely you will be there" Robert said.

"No dad, I can do it. I have the strength and will to go" Darius show his firm resolution.

"It's your first time been away from home, and you alone their are many dangers there" Madeline said.

"Come on mum, you are magnifying the level of the danger. It's just training and some students, right? I can handle that" Darius said.

"Alright be careful and take care of yourself while you are there" Robert said.

"Take very good care of yourself and don't you dare get injured" Madeline warned.

Darius is allowed to go, his father even said that he has a friend there, and his parents give him some words of encouragement. His mother even kept repeating that he should be careful and should hurt himself while he is there.

Darius run back to where Jack is...

"Hey brother Jack, I am back" Darius announced his return.

"How did it go?" Jack asked.

"Very good, I have been given permission to go, I even asked that they write a letter to you so that you believe that I am really been permitted to go" Darius said excitedly.

"Oh, alright we will be moving out in two days time" Jack said.

"Yay!" Darius jump in excitement.

"Bye brother Jack, I will go home and start my push ups and squats" Darius wave at Jack before running back to his home.

Jack is left speechless at his brother's activeness.

'This brother of mine, I really feel like he don't know what he is heading into. But I quiet like his readiness to undertake the fighters training even though he wants to be a mage.' Jack said as he gave one last look at running and hopping Darius making his way home.

'Wish you well my little brother' Jack silently wished Darius good in his career.
