12 Chapter 11: White

"Alright, this is it for homeroom today. And as for you, follow me." Sae said as she gathered her notes before pointing her finger at Hikaru.

"The trial for the three students who assaulted you in front of the Convenience Store will be held in a few moments. It will be presided over by the student council president, who will also pass the verdict and I'll be accompanying you as your homeroom teacher." Sae said while staring at Hikaru who had a blank expression on his face.

"I hope you know what you are doing." Sae said before turning around and walking towards the Student Council room followed by Hikaru.

"I certainly do."

"I would be truly glad if that is the case indeed." Sae said as she stopped in front of a door.

"The hearing will take place here. Don't lose your bearing at all costs, do you understand?"

"I do." Hikaru said as he entered the room.

The room was completely deserted except for the four figures who were glaring at Hikaru. The room was equipped with a large screen and a few dozen seats, which were arranged in a circular pattern.

"Nice to meet you again Senpai." Hikaru said as he bowed a little.

"Heh? What are you talking about? I don't know who you are, don't act as if you know me." The other boy said as he looked at Hikaru with a scornful face.

"Is that so. I won't talk about it anymore in that case."

"You better not! You have wrongfully accused me and filed a complaint against me, which influenced me mentally. I would make sure that you get expelled from this school so that you can't play a prank like this anymore!" The boy said as he looked at Hikaru menacingly before punching the desk he was sitting on.

"I understand. Please do not damage the school's furniture." Hikaru said as he sat down on his seat.

"Be silent. The trial will start now." A tall boy said as he entered the room. This was Manabu Horikita, the current Student Council President.

As he walked to his seat, he looked at everyone present in the room, presumingly judging them.

"The trial shall begin now." Manabu said as Sae sat beside Hikaru.

"You three students of Class 2-A have been accused of assaulting Hikaru Akiyama, a student of Class 1-D. Do you acknowledge this statement?"

"No. We have been falsely accused."

"Is that so. What were you doing during the incident?"

"The three of us were talking about our classes in the park during that time."

"Alright. What do you want to say regarding this Akiyama-san?" Manabu said as he looked at Hikaru who was just looking at the three boys with an amused expression.

"We have visual proof of the assault. I would like you to review that."

"Of course. Please bring the recording here." Manabu said to a blonde-haired boy who was sitting beside him.

"I'll tell someone to deliver it here from the security room." The boy said as he called someone using his Student ID.

'The Vice-President of the student council, Miyabi Nagumo from Class 2-A, the same class as those three over there. Now, something will probably happen to the visual evidence.' Hikaru thought as he looked over at Miyabi.

"Someone is going to deliver the recording in a short while." Miyabi whispered into Manabu's ears before going back to his seat.

"While waiting for the recording, let's continue the trial."Manabu said as he looked at the three students.

"Were there any eye-witnesses to the whole ordeal?"

"How can there be any eye-witnesses for something that didn't even occur?" One of the three boys said as he looked at Manabu with a confused expression.

"Alright. What about you?" Manabu said as he looked at Hikaru.

"There indeed is an eye-witness to this incident. Three students of my class witnessed the incident when it happened and one of them can vouch for it."

"What about the other two?"

"I haven't talked to them about it."

"That's pretty irresponsible." Manabu said as he stared at me before sighing a little.

'Eye-witnesses won't matter anyway if they somehow prove that they weren't even there during the incident. The convenience store staff won't meddle in this and won't act as a witness and as for the other students, they will be either too scared to go against the Vice-President of the student council or won't even bother about it. Either way, if I somehow win this trial today, the influence of Class 2-A will drastically decrease because of the conditions I will set and the influence of the Vice-President of the student council will also diminish slightly, and that slight change may cost him his seat.' Hikaru thought as he looked at Sae beside him who was simply sighing.

"Are you worried about the outcome sensei?" Hikaru asked Sae who was sitting beside him.

"Of course I am. I am your homeroom teacher after all. But looking at how it's proceeding, I doubt that you will be able to prove that they are guilty."

"Didn't you watch the recording too, sensei? Can't you act as a witness too?"

"The school staff are prohibited from interfering in these types of events as we may be biased to our own classes. I can only support you mentally here." Sae said as she sighed again.

"I see."

"The recording has arrived." Manabu said as he opened the package in front of him.

"Start the recording please." Manabu said as he looked over at his secretary, Akane Tachibana.

But after the recording started, everyone in the room was rendered speechless, well some were pretending to be shocked.

"What is this!?" Manabu asked Miyabi while looking at the screen in front of him. Instead of the footage, there was nothing on the screen! It was pure white and Hikaru reckoned that it was the whitest thing he had ever seen! It was even sparkling!

"I don't know! I'll contact the security room immediately!" Miyabi said as he rushed out of the room.
