Suspicions

The five of them arrived at the town's hall where the psychopath dropped off his victim hoping to find any clue that might lead them to the serial killer. They had left while the children were distracted. They didn't want to get them involved in this type of affair, they were still inexperienced in handling cases like this so keeping them out of it completely was definitely the best option.

Sian had taken the news surprisingly well, she hadn't overreacted as they had thought. She had already figured it was the reason they had kept her out of it in the first place, and when she had confronted them, she had to use everything that was in her to keep herself from running to her kids and locking them up till this serial killer was apprehended.

They searched the entire church premises alongside Joseph. Even though he was still mad at Lucas for rendering him homeless, he still respected the Triumvirates and was definitely honored to be in the presence of two of the members in one day, aiding them and even casually discussing with them.

They had searched for over an hour and still had no clue whatsoever pointing towards the Elemental killer. The serial killer was definitely in a league of his own when it came to hiding his tracks. He was exceptionally good at what he did and that meant even more trouble for them. They had however figured out he had a time gap for every murder and that his victims always showed up after a week of being abducted. He made sure to take his time to torture them to death before he scarred and mutilated their corpse to the way he pleased before finally dumping him where everyone could see.

The plan was to stakeout for him on the seventh night after an Elemental might have been reported missing. Lucas worked with the town's security department so them getting the list of missing persons would be a lot easier.

They finally gave up after another extra hour of searching without a positive result. They rested on the pews of the hall while watching the altar where the victims of this ruthless killer were lined up after their death.

Harold bit his lips hard, the fact that this killer was still out there infuriated him, he wanted to find this bastard and sap the air out of his lungs untill he dropped dead. He promised to make his death very painful in the worst way possible and drying him of air was the most merciful suggestion he had come up with so far.

He suddenly dove out of his seat, successfully dodging a heavy downward swipe from a frail looking man wielding a sword. He looked frail but the impact of the blade on the chair had sliced it in half confirming the fact that he had serious man power and raw strength despite his appearance. The remaining four had suddenly risen from where they sat and slowly retreated as the man approached them.

Harold stretched forth his hand to enclose the man in an air bubble but the man had instantly canceled the attack also proving that he was an Elemental so why was he attacking them. Harold cancelled out an air ball that the man had sent forward not wanting to return fire out of pity. He didn't want to get into a death match with his kind, the same people he was fighting for.

"We're not your enemies" Harold tried to explain while constantly canceling out attacks thrown forward at them by the man who did not want to listen.

"Be cleansed, be cleansed" he kept repeating while sending forth attacks to the five of them simultaneously. Even though he was outnumbered and very easily outmatched, he kept pressing forward.

Warren had finally had enough, the constant repetition of those two words annoyed him and he had heard enough of it for one day. In a flash, he had reached behind the man and knocked him out with a chop to the back of the head.

"You're welcome" He appreciated their abstract votes of thanks not waiting for them to say it.

Harold walked up to the unconscious man, wondering why an Elemental will consciously attack another Elemental even after knowing that they were his kind. Maybe it was some kind of hypnosis or maybe brain washing. He carried the unconscious man up from the ground using the wind and gently laid him down on one of the pews. He separated the man from his sword just to make sure he didn't harm himself or somebody else. Something seemed off with these attack and he was sure everyone else noticed it.

Aaron excused himself from his peers and the girls and chased after his parents, while making sure to stay out of their range of sight. His curiosity had driven him to desperation and this had begun when they had suddenly disappeared as if they knew he was watching. And the moment he was distracted, they had disappeared but he had managed to catch them just in time before they were out of sight.

He trailed them to the town's hall which sometimes was used as a church but it's main purpose was serving as the town hall. He had spent the next two hours watching them search for something he couldn't possibly think off and they looked dead serious searching about this thing, whatever it was.

He had grown bored of watching, finally accepting the fact that his parents and friends had run mad but just before he could turn away, he saw an approaching figure behind uncle Harold, a blade in hand and his footsteps almost undetectable. The stranger had raised the blade up planning on decapitating his uncle who was barely aware of his attackers presence. Aaron wasn't prepared to save his uncle but miraculously, his uncle had moved just before the blade sliced through the chair he once sat on.

The once boring event had suddenly become lively once more, and he had gone into hiding again, He wanted to see his parents in real action but before that could happen, his father had knocked the stranger out with only a chop to the back ot the head. He cursed his father for being such a fun kill but he had managed to catch a word that the stranger was consistently repeating, "Be cleansed!"

He finally crawled out of hiding spot, everything had gone back to boring after his father had ended the entire charade with only a single chop. He had also noticed that the stranger was an Elemental, seeing as he canceled his uncle's wind based attacks and threw more towards him. It was strange for an Elemental to attack another in broad daylight without any reasonable explanation.

"Leaving so soon?" The new visitor asked, he had been caught and soon everybody was watching him expecting with demanding expression on their faces. He wasn't used to being questioned or telling lies, he was the quiet twin who never got in trouble but here he was being interrogated by not one but five Elementals. Two out of which were his parents. He knew his mother was definitely going to kill him so he did well by avoiding direct eye contact with her.

"Care to explain what you're doing here Aaron?" His father asked. His normal cheerful face was gone and was now replaced with one of seriousness and a little bit of rage.

"You followed us didn't you?" Warren asked but yet again Aaron had failed to produce an answer. He had finally replied to the second question by nodding his head affirmatively.

Sian had finally intercepted Warren's questioning and pulled her son outside towards the corner. Her eyes red with rage at the fact that he had trailed them alone in this period where the psychopathic serial killers thrived in his work. No one knew how powerful he was and so him coming out alone opened doors to whole lot of trouble for them.

"Firstly, stalking your elders is not right Aaron and secondly, you should never leave the house on your own, what were you even thinking?" She questioned doing her best not to give off the fact that she was paranoid about a killer being at large and her first son wandering around alone.

Aaron bowed his head low, showing signs of apology and promise not to repeat his actions again. They were all acting up just because he followed them it wasn't as if they were doing something illegal or hiding something that they didn't want anyone else to know about.

Aaron paused and rewinded to his last option to why they could be acting up, they were certainly hiding something and this was something they didn't want their kids or siblings knowing about. They had only just thrown coals into his already burning curiosity and the zeal to find our what they were hiding was skyrocketing by the minutes.

Sian felt it was useless hiding these things from them, they would eventually find out. The news was certainly spreading and it would only be a matter of days before everyone in town knew about it. She was almost tempted to speak but it was as if Harold had read her mind and had intervened just before her vocal cords could start their work.

"I need you to go back home now with uncle Edmund and stay with your brothers and cousin and also with Flora" Warren interrupted whatever Sian had planned to say.

"Who's Flora?" He had wanted to ask until he remembered the forest girl. She must be Flora. He nodded to his father's words just before his mother hugged him.

Edmund had already joined in on the family moment while waiting for Sian to release her son so they could get going. Edmund had been impressed that this boy managed to keep his presence concealed and had managed stay here undetected for over an hour. The boy had potential, and he was already intrigued.
