David Cress knows who the killer is...

In a relatively small town like DreVille County, it only took a few minutes before everyone read the update from the local news station.

David paced around his living room, trying to convince himself that he was overthinking.

He didn't want to be right, he really hoped he was wrong.

He stopped in front of the wall where he hung his antique swords and leaned on it, trying to steady his breathing.

And that's when the lights went out.

STARK'S

"Mom? Where are you?" asked a worried Isabela

walking down the stairs.

The Starks lived in the restaurant's second floor.

"I'm right here." said Martha,

who was cleaning a table.

"Have you seen Alex? He said he would help me with my homework."

"No, he left a while ago."

Isabela pouted.

"Oh, ok. What's up with you? You look like you're thinking about something."

Martha smiled sadly.

"I'm okay, sweetheart. It's been a rough week."

Martha was proud of the fact that her daughter was too smart for her age. She was only 14 years old, but she could be a very reasonable teenager.

"Well can you help me? Chemistry is so fucking complicated."

Unfortunately she had also developed a potty mouth.

"Language, Izzy. And I won't be able to help. I hate Chemistry too."

She considered telling Izzy about David knowing the killer's identity but chose not to.

Izzy nodded.

"Ok, but didn't Alex say where he was going?"

"He said he was going to Larry's house." replied Martha.

"I hope he comes back soon."

CAMILA'S HOUSE

Camila entered her house really pissed.

None of her friends were answering the phone.

Francisco Glavas, her father, was waiting for her.

"Hey princesa, I made tea."

"Thanks, dad. I really need one."

Francisco looked at her. "Something wrong?"

Camila sighed.

"What, you don't keep up with the news anymore? Apparently David knows who murdered Paul's stepfather and I've been trying to call my friends but they wouldn't answer."

"That's suspicious." said Francisco.

"Considering they're all suspects."

Camila looked at him horrified.

"Dad, what if one of them really is the killer? What if they lied to us?"

Francisco put his hand on his daughter's shoulder.

"Please don't say that. You don't really think they're guilty, do you?"

"No way, I'm sure they're innocent."

Her dad smiled.

"Then stop doubting and worrying. If they're really innocent, then the truth will come out sooner or later."

Camila finished her tea.

"I just hope it's not too late when it does."

HOSPITAL

Dr Sara Sanchez was packing up for the day when she got the update from the news on the killer.

She rushed into the Emergency Room to ask Kai if he'd heard the news.

Nobody but the receptionist was there.

"Hey, Sally, where's Kai?"

"He clocked out a few minutes ago, said he had an emergency and he had to go."

Sara frowned. "Just like that?"

"Yes, he seemed to be in a hurry."

Sara blinked.

"Ok, let me know when he's back."

Kai never left early without telling her. It had to be very important to make him hurry.

Never mind, she'd ask for an explanation later.

POLICE STATION

Davenport was pacing around impatiently in his office, while Giovani was just sitting there, feeling nervous and confused.

"Where the hell is David?" said Davenport.

"Why the hell would he tell the media before us?"

Giovani rolled his eyes.

"Stop whining, ok? This might just be fake news. Try calling him."

"He's not answering."

Giovani looked at his watch and sighed.

"That's it. Let's go find him. He's probably in his house laughing at us for believing this bullshit story."

David pulled out his gun as soon as the lights went out.

He turned on his phone's flashlight and looked around.

David heard something behind him that made him turn around, but the figure behind him was faster, and with a kick the gun flew out of David's hand.

David stood still and stared down his attacker.

The killer was completely dressed in black; A hoodie, boots, trousers, and gloves. And most prominently, the killer had on a Guy Fawkes mask.

David lunged first and they threw their fists at each other and exchanged a few good punches, but David was stronger and shoved the killer against a wall multiple times before throwing the killer to the ground.

Fuming, the detective bent down to remove the mask but as soon as he was within distance, the killer thrust a strong knee into David's groin.

David groaned and fell back, The killer took advantage of David's momentary pain and swiftly grabbed one of the antique swords that fell off the wall in the struggle.

The detective started to get up only long enough for the killer to slash him cleanly in the neck, just one lethal slash.

The detective fell again, copious amounts of blood pouring out of his neck.

He could only writhe in pain for a few seconds, and stare at his attacker; William Silko's killer standing over him, he sputtered and tried to speak but his twitching body stopped him from uttering a word.

And then he stopped moving.

The killer left the antique sword next to David's body and escaped through a window.

STARK'S

The door opened.

"Sorry, we're closed." said Martha.

"It's just me." The visitor replied.

Martha smirked.

"Why, hello, Francisco. What are you doing here so late?"

"You know I just love keeping you company."

Martha blushed and gave him a bashful smile.

"But I'm actually here to talk about the kids. With this killer, they don't seem too well."

Martha sighed. "Yeah, they're really stressed about it. And they're all suspects. They're afraid, Francisco, I mean, they're on the verge of being charged with murder."

"Don't stress yourself, Martha. David will catch the real killer tonight." said Francisco. "The kids will be just fine."

"Speaking of which," said Martha. "I haven't heard of him or the arrest, not even on the news."

Francisco's smile fell.

"Oh my God!" yelled Martha. "What if something happened? What if the killer got him?"

"Let's hope you're wrong." replied Francisco. "Because if not, David might be in serious danger, we could all be in serious danger."

DAVID'S HOUSE

"Oh my God, D-David!" Davenport sputtered.

Davenport and Giovani had seen the door wide open and immediately knew something was wrong.

They stumbled into the living room and found David on the floor, with blood still pouring out of his neck and the bloody sword next to him.

Davenport took his gun and searched the house, while Giovani checked David's pulse and called 911. The detective checked the body as he pushed a towel against his neck to stop the bleeding.

His eyes widened when he felt a pulse.

"Bruce, he's still alive!"

His partner came running back, followed by the paramedics. Only a minute later, David was on a stretcher and was being wheeled to the ambulance.

"What's going on!?" screamed someone behind them.

The detectives turned around to see Alex standing there.

At the sight of David's main suspect, Davenport lost it.

"I should have known it was you!"

"What?" asked Alex confused.

"You think I'm stupid? The killer always comes back to the crime scene! Only I wasn't expecting it to be so soon."

"No, you're wrong! I don't even know what you're talking about."

"Hey, calm down." intervened Giovani. "There's no way Alex tried to kill David."

"WHAT?! What happened to David?"

"He was attacked but he's still alive, if he doesn't make it, that could be two murder charges for you."

He grabbed Alex and handcuffed him. "Alexander Stark, you are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you can't afford an attorney, one will be provided for you-"

"This is bullshit! I'm innocent!!"

Giovani tried to stop him.

"Bruce, come on. This isn't necessary."

His partner shrugged. "I'm just doing my job. If he didn't do it, then he has nothing to be afraid of. I'm sorry Gio, but there's nothing you can do."

He put Alex in the patrol car and took him to the station.
