14 | DJ's Dream- Psychological

DJ blinked a few times at the darkness and groaned. "Son of a-"

The darkness lifted and DJ was back at camp. There were soft voices in the cabin and DJ was in his bunk. Nothing seemed to be wrong. Maybe that was all just a dream...

DJ blinked a few times and looked around the cabin. There was no way he dreamt the entire way here. No way. Taking a deep breath, he looked down at the ground before hopping off his bunk.

Alex was asleep on his bed below.

The voices that DJ heard quieted down, a door closed. They were having a discussion about Alex's current state and what to do. Before DJ could figure out who they were, they disappeared behind the cabin door, leaving the cabin silent. Alex's steady breathing was the only thing you could really hear.

DJ hesitated as the door shut, then slowly turned to look at his brother. Heart dropping in his chest, he kneeled down and took his hand. "...hey al... I'm, I'm going to get you up soon... I promise." He muttered.

Alex's hand was cold to the touch. He didn't move or respond to DJ.

A few minutes passed by and there was a gentle knock on the cabin door. Soon after, Ryker entered the cabin carefully. He looked over at the twins and his expression softened. "Hey DJ..." He said, his tone gentle. Ryker approached them and let out a small sigh as he looked down at Alex.

DJ looked up at Ryker and took a deep breath, quickly standing up and hitting his shoulder lightly. "Where the hell did you go?! How are you even, in here?"

Ryker looked at DJ confused. "I walked here..." he said with a small chuckle.

"No, I mean, in the... thing." He sighed and shut his eyes. "Never mind, just... what are you doing here?"

"I came to check on you, I've been worried." Ryker said, shifting his weight. "You haven't exactly been very social since Alex fell asleep."

DJ raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. "...you were worried about me?"

Ryker shrugged. "Maybe... I just wanted to make sure that you were alright." He said. "You kinda uh... didn't exactly want to speak to anyone so I was just trying to make sure that everything was okay."

DJ blinked a few times. "Well, yeah, I mean, Caleb kind of attacked me in the hotel room so no shit I don't want to talk to anyone."

"You talk to me." He said softly, tilting his head slightly.

He paused and swallowed hard, looking down at the ground with a slight shrug. "Well.... whatever."

Ryker chuckled softly. "It isn't whatever to me." He said with a small smile.

DJ looked up at him and tensed a bit, looking over at the wall. "Well, it is to me. It doesn't mean anything."

Ryker took a deep breath, nodding a little. "Okay... fine. I'll drop it." He said. He then looked down at Alex, staring in thought for a moment before letting out a small sigh. "What a strange thing to happen to someone." Ryker said, then looked back up at DJ. "Thoughts of why he hasn't woke up yet?"

DJ blinked a few times and looked back at Ryker. "...you're, joking right?" He laughed awkwardly. "The prophecy? Whoever the dreamer is is the one who's doing this."

"I-"

The cabin began to shake a bit as the lights flickered, a thunderous boom happened at the same time.

Ryker caught himself on the bunk frame so he didn't fall over, looking up at the ceiling as the shakes happened. There was some yelling and screaming that began to happen outside of the cabin, people running past the windows in a panic. The shaking came to a stop, the lights remained on.

DJ's eyes widened and he turned back to Ryker, then out toward the entrance of the cabin. Taking a deep breath, he quickly walked toward it, pulling it open.

Pulling the door open, DJ found himself looking at a horrific scene. Buildings were burning, lighting up the night sky. Some bodies from campers laid on the ground, not moving. Weapons and shields, pieces of armor were spread out along the path. Others were scrambling to get back up to their feet, injured. There were some who hadn't been injured yet, running around helping those who were injured get to safety or fight off whatever was attacking them.

The smell of death plagued the air.

DJ inhaled sharply and grabbed the bag sitting by the door of the Aphrodite cabin, heading out of it quickly. He was never one for protecting but...His brother needed to get out safely. Pausing, he headed straight toward where some people were, helping injured up as he went toward the middle.

"DJ wait!-" Ryker called out to DJ before he left.

However, DJ ran out, the door to the cabin closing behind him. He wasn't able to figure out what exactly was attacking before the screams of Ryker came from the cabin. If DJ were to look back at the cabin, he would see that it had been engulfed in flames.

DJ stopped and turned around, his eyes growing wide. Shit.

Swallowing his pride, he quickly ran back over, grabbing the handle despite the burning on his hand and tried to pull it open.

The door didn't budge, however, DJ was tugged backwards by something grabbing onto his shirt. He was dragged backwards along the ground by a big mass that had a hold of his shirt tightly. DJ was getting further from his brother and Ryker who were trapped inside the burning house.

Well. This has been fun guys.

DJ made no attempts to get free. Once out in the open a little, he was thrown side to side like a dogs chew toy. He then was thrown to the side and was sent rolling along the ground for a moment. As DJ stopped, he could see who his attacker was, a hellhound. Before he could do anything to defend himself, it pounced at him with his mouth wide open. A large crack was heard and DJ's vision went black.

A few seconds of emptiness and darkness consumed DJ. Then someone faintly snapping could be heard, gradually getting louder as DJ seemed to be coming back into consciousness.

He shut his eyes a bit tighter, then they quickly shot open. Sitting up, he took a few deep breaths, his hand going to his heart. Holy shit, he lived.

mmm... sort of

His vision was a bit blurry, some muffled music could be heard. The figure who was trying to get DJ to wake up began coming into view. It was Ryker.

He was dressed in something a little more fancy than his normal wear, knelt down in front of DJ who was sitting leaned up against the wall in what looked to be a bathroom. "That's it... come on.." Ryker stopped snapping as DJ moved, placing a hand gently on DJ's shoulder. "Wake up DJ..."

He blinked a few times and he looked around the bathroom, sitting up a bit more. "I... wh..." he shut his eyes for a second and rubbed them, looking back at Ryker. "...what the fuck happened...?"

"I don't know... you kinda just... fell." Ryker said, his tone gentle and quiet. He searched his face for a moment. "Are you feeling okay?"

He stared at him and thought for a second, taking a deep breath. "I... yeah... I'm, I'm fine..." he sighed and looked around for a second, not making any move to get up before turning back to Ryker. "...why are you here...?" He asked gently, listening to the music outside.

Ryker smiled softly. "We came to an after school party.. well... separately but we had met up during the night and then you disappeared so I came looking for you." He explained, standing up, offering a hand to DJ to help him off the ground.

DJ blinked a few times, carefully taking his hand as he stood up. His hand was warm and, familiar. He didn't let go after he was on his feet, just turned to look back toward the door. "...so... now we're here...?" He looked back up at the hades boy, blinking a few times in confusion.

He nodded and looked down at DJ. "That we are." Ryker chuckled softly. He then looked down at their hands, squeezing DJ's a bit. "Is everything okay?" He asked, looking back up at DJ.

DJ stared at him and nodded a little. "Yeah, I just..." Something didn't feel right. Taking a deep breath, he looked back down at their hands, pausing. This isn't what Ryker was wearing. At least... it wasn't done up this nicely. He cleared his throat and looked back up at him, laughing awkwardly. "Sorry, my heads still spinning."

Ryker nodded a bit. "That's alright. We can find a more quiet area to be until your head stops spinning if you'd like." He said.

DJ nodded a little and laughed slightly, pretending to kind of stumble for a second as he placed his hand in the centre of 'Ryker's' chest to catch his balance. "Shit, sorry-"

He wrapped his arms around DJ, helping so he didn't fall. "That's... alright." Ryker chuckled. As DJ touched Ryker's chest, there was something that was under his shirt. Maybe a necklace of some sort.

Ryker didn't wear jewelry.

He took a deep breath and nodded. "Uhm, I... I think I'm gonna go get some water. I... I can meet you back somewhere quieter?" He asked gently, looking up at him.

Ryker's eyes widened some and he nodded a bit. "Uh yeah.. sure. Sounds like a plan." He smiled weakly. "Or... I can come with!" Ryker then smiled, perking back up, starting for the bathroom door.

DJ's eyes widened and he watched him. "...you really don't have to, I, I'm sure I can find water on my own." He laughed a little.

Ryker opened the door and laughed, the music becoming louder. "Nonsense. I don't mind helping."

DJ nodded and swallowed hard, taking a deep breath as he stepped into the party area. It would be easy to lose him in a crowd, and... maybe find the reason he was so nervous, and... giggly.
