Kings Landing - The Red Keep, 270 AC
Aegon's POV
It's been seven years since my birth into Westeros—a world both familiar and strange, a land teeming with power struggles, ancient houses, and the weight of history. From my first moments here, I understood that my existence would not be ordinary, not in a world like this. I remember, even now, the very moment of my birth. It was the day I realized that I couldn't access my own power of Meta Ability Creation—not until the return of magic itself. It was a frustrating discovery, but the so-called Rob—short for "Random Omnipotent Being"—had a plan to compensate me.
Flashback
Aegon's POV
I floated in the warmth of my mother's womb, an unusual lucidity filling my mind. I could feel the world around me in a state of flux, as if something immense was just beyond my reach. Then suddenly, everything stilled. A static-filled, slightly irritated voice rang out from the darkness.
"Aegon? Testing… Aegon, can you hear me?" the voice asked.
Slightly taken aback, I responded mentally, "Yes, I can hear you. But honestly, why couldn't you let me choose a better name? Aemon would have suited me far better than Aegon."
The voice sighed, a bit sheepishly. "Yeah, about that. You're actually inhabiting the body of a real child—meant to be stillborn. Changing the name wasn't an option. But on a more important note, I need to tell you something: you won't be able to access your power to create meta abilities until magic returns to Westeros. So, I'll grant you seven special abilities before your birth."
My thoughts raced. I wanted to demand an explanation, to understand what he was about to grant me and why. But instead, I took a steadying breath and outlined what I needed. "Fine. First, I want The End from Medaka Box—with the ability to negate, replicate, or control any magical abilities, skills, and spells. Second, give me The Eyes of the Lord from Record of Ragnarok, with the power to analyze anything I see. Third, Golden Rule EX from the Nasuverse, granting me perpetual wealth and resources. Fourth, absolute immunity from all poisons, diseases, and toxins. Fifth, Genetic Access, allowing me to inherit the strengths of any bloodline I encounter. Sixth, Infinite Potential—unlimited talent in all pursuits. And seventh, the ability to create anything I can imagine, with the restriction that I cannot create life itself, only inanimate objects and magical or non-magical plants."
A scoff echoed in my mind. "You're really pushing it. Fine. I'll grant these, but this is borderline cheating. There will be powerful adversaries to balance things out. And one more thing—I'll give you inventory space, accessible at will."
After that, time resumed, and I entered this world.
End of Flashback
Since then, life as Aegon Targaryen, the second-born prince of Westeros, has been surprisingly mundane. Rob and the gods of other worlds have provided me with an inventory filled with items beyond any common man's comprehension.
Inventory:
• The Amulet of Kings (Elder Scrolls)
• Rings of King Solomon and his Grimoire (Nasuverse)
• A Grimoire of Valyrian magic and ancient rituals
• Sacred Gear: The Dragon Emperor's Imperial Regalia
• King Arthur's armor and Excalibur (Nasuverse)
• 999,999,999,999,999,999,999 gold dragons
Extravagant? Absolutely. But as the son of King Aerys II, life in the Red Keep isn't exactly quiet. Between training with swords, spears, and learning statecraft, my days are filled with constant drilling and lessons. Pycelle's droning on the noble houses of Westeros might be the most tiresome part, but it comes with the role. Today, however, I felt restless. I wanted to see what life was like for the common folk beyond these walls, to know the world from their eyes.
The Streets of King's Landing
Aegon's POV
Disguised in a heavy, hooded cloak, with a short sword and dagger strapped to my side, I slipped into a secret tunnel I'd discovered months ago. It led from the Red Keep, weaving through the cliffside, to a secluded cove near the city walls. From there, I could sneak into the bustling, chaotic heart of King's Landing.
The streets were a tapestry of life, each corner bringing new sights, sounds, and smells. Merchants hawked wares from exotic spices to leather boots, people haggled, children darted between stalls, and beggars whispered desperate pleas. The air was heavy with smoke, the pungent scent of waste, and the cloying odor of unwashed bodies.
Suddenly, a piercing scream cut through the noise—a voice high and terrified, begging for help. Instinctively, I broke into a sprint, weaving through the throng. I found three men—thieves or worse—looming over three girls who looked barely twelve. Two were blonde, wide-eyed with fear, while the third was dark-skinned, her face twisted in defiance. One of the men had her pinned, leering with a malicious grin.
Before he could act, I hurled my dagger. The blade struck deep, and he crumpled to the ground. His two companions turned, enraged, drawing their daggers.
One of them spat, "You'll pay for that, little lord."
Unsheathing my sword, I replied coldly, "Come and face someone who can fight back."
Barristan Selmy's POV
I had noticed the young prince slipping away, his eyes gleaming with that restless energy I'd come to recognize. I followed from a distance, knowing he was up to some mischief. Aegon moved through the streets with purpose, though. I watched him as he observed the people around him, almost studying them.
And then the screams. Aegon broke into a run, disappearing into an alley, and my heart pounded. I followed him, catching sight of the young prince confronting three ruffians harassing three young girls. To my shock, he threw his dagger, felling one of them. He moved with speed, striking another before I could step in and finish the last one.
"Aegon, are you hurt?" I asked, feeling an odd mix of pride and apprehension. "Please, don't roam the city alone, especially without guards."
But Aegon barely glanced at me, turning his attention instead to the terrified girls.
Aegon's POV
I knelt down, my face softened by concern. "Are you alright? Do you need a healer?"
The dark-haired girl with fierce eyes, now streaked with tears, steadied her voice. "Thank you, Your Grace. My name is Casca."
I stilled. Casca? Like the warrior from Berserk? I pushed down my shock, forcing myself to stay focused as the second girl introduced herself, her voice soft yet resolute.
"I am Jeanne d'Arc, Your Grace," she said.
Jeanne d'Arc… from Fate? A strange feeling washed over me. Finally, the last girl—a dignified, noble-looking blonde with a guarded gaze—spoke.
"My name is Farnese de Vandimion," she said formally. "I am a daughter of Braavosi nobility. My family is currently visiting the Red Keep."
The names, the faces—none of this made sense. Why would characters from other worlds be here, in Westeros? Each girl had a connection to a world as real as my own, and I couldn't ignore the implications.
I looked up at Ser Barristan. "Can we help them, Ser Barristan?"
He nodded, though I could see questions in his gaze. "Lady Farnese's family is in the Red Keep. We can reunite her easily enough. As for the others… you'll need your mother's permission if you wish to bring them to the keep, Your Grace."
I sighed inwardly. Of course. This will be an interesting conversation.
In Aegon's Mind
Casca, Jeanne, Farnese—what does their presence here mean? Are they simply reincarnations like me, or something more? Whatever it is, Westeros may be more entangled with these worlds than I ever imagined.
