As soon as the words left my mouth, I felt the urge to punch myself. How could I demand her to trust me when I would even resort to betraying her had I not got the information that I wanted? I slowly stepped back away from her, feeling the heat of her gaze on me. From the silence, I heard her sigh.
"I wasn't born like this."
I raised my head and looked at her, noticing her slackened expression. My heart pounded on my chest as I listened attentively.
"I lived a normal life, as normal as a life of a child of rich murderers could be. But when someone leaves, somebody must take his or her place. My mother was too much of a coward to come back and face the consequences of the life she chose but was not ready to die either, so both her and my father sent me to take her place in the Organization. I was four years old then, but they didn't mind, as long as the oOrganization won't kill them. They still did." She paused and laughed humourlessly.
