His fingers, firm but teasing, gripped her waist, pulling her against his body. “Do you know what happens to those who defy me, little pet?” His voice was low, dripping with dark amusement. He leaned down, his lips hovering just above hers, close enough for her to feel his breath but not close enough to touch. “They beg.”Elysia’s pulse quickened, her breath catching as her body betrayed the fear melting into something far more dangerous. Her lips parted, but no words came out. "You're mine, Elysia, I will burn the world for you." She heard him say in a low growl, making her legs tremble more.

Inn

The inn was big and beautiful, not how Elysia imagined an inn would look like. The innkeeper greeted them with a polite smile, a towel hanging on his shoulder.

"King Azrael, it is nice seeing you here again. The regular right?" The man flashed Azreal a toothy smile.

"That would be wonderful, I would also love a warm bath for the Lady and I." Azreal added.

"Very well Your Majesty, she's a new one, ay?" His eyes moved to Elysia, as he cracked a supposed joke that no one laughed at.

"We do not have all night." The King's voice turned cold and emotionless. It seemed Azrael did not appreciate the man's question and was quick to send him off.

Elysia watched as the King's demeanor changed at the man's words. She wondered what he had meant by 'a new one'. Could it perhaps mean the King brought his mistresses here? She asked herself the question she was too scared to ask the King.
