War has waged as long as I could remember. I remember the blood. I remember the lifeless expressions. I remember how cold their bodies were as I laid between them.. I remember never getting the opportunity to meet my unborn baby sister. And even Now as my Brother Ascends the throne, He wishes for peace. He wants to make an alliance with The Lycans. Chapter 39

I ignored Silias all the way back to the Palace. Glowing? Yeah okay whatever! What kind of sick joke was he trying to play anyway?!

"Frey. Stop for a minute. I'm not being an asshole. The book in your hand is emanating the same power surge." I freeze mid step and turn glaring at him. He throws his hands up in surrender.

"Where did you get the book?" I roll my eyes. He was seriously getting on my nerves lately.

"The Book Vendor in the market place." He holds his hand out toward me. I scoff and toss the book at him and instantly I feel alittle more calm. Less on edge like I had something to hide. What thee hell was that. Silias chuckles alittle.

"Your Dragon Traits are growing. Dragon Magic is an ancient book of Dragon's kind of like a treasure to them." My mouth drops open as I gwack at him.

He stereotyped Shade and I. Just because we are a Dragon-Borne doesn't automatically make us like every greedy treasure hoarding male Dragon! Female Dragons didn't do treasure! I could feel my eyes narrow as I take a step toward him.

"I didn't mean it as a bad thing. But the on edge feeling you had. That you had something that you needed to keep hidden..that's what I meant." Now he was just trying to dig himself out of the hole. I snatch the book back from him and start walking again. Silias falls into step beside me. Keeping a safe distance that is anyway.

"What do you want Silias?" He chuckles and shakes his head.

"Raph has requested that you pick up training with some of the pack members." I snort. He did realize that I was alot faster than a Lycan right? And I could grow scales on command?

Sometimes I wonder what he takes me for. I'm not some pampered princess that can't save her own ass. I shake my head and roll my eyes.

"Tell Raph to kiss my a-"

"Freya?" I press my lips into a thin line and slowly turn to the sound of Astor's amused voice.

"There's letters waiting for you in your office and Astra is bringing Nigeria by to see you." I couldn't help but smile. I was missing them both. I nod and hurry passed them. I probably would have regretted that sentence anyway. It was best that Astor stopped me.

I make my way to my office quickly shutting the door behind me. I set the book down on my desk carefully and shift through the letters. One caught my attention. I didn't know the hand writing.

I tare open the side and dump it out. A necklace in thin black rope slide out at the end was crystal. Mostly mages wore them..I open the letter quickly.

Dear Princess,

It has come to my attention that you have been through a great many of things. Though I can not leave the Mage Tower. I wish to give you this gift. It is a summoning crystal. One that when you are in need of my help it will summon me to you.

With Great Affection High Magus Slade.

I felt myself frown at the last bit. What did he mean 'with great affection?' What a weirdo. I shake my head. Regardless he was offering help and I wouldn't say no to that. I place the necklace over my head and it set above the teardrop that Astor gave me.

Sighing heavily I pick up the next letter and open it.

Princess Freya,

It has come to The Council's attention that you have been tortured and almost killed by your own flesh and blood. We understand that you had no choice but to kill him in turn to ensure your own survival.

We do hope that you find some peace with yourself and hope that you are healed and safe.

The Council is also aware of the fact that children have gone missing and the rumor of a rebellious force trying to bring back Falak. We are investigating this.

If you have any updates please do share them with The Council so that we may work together and stop these rumors.

Shade growls and I pinch the bridge of my nose.

'They are a bunch of old cowards who want to take all the credit!' She wasn't wrong. But why would they send me a letter instead of Astor. That didn't make any sense.

'Because you are the rightful Heir to your father's throne. I'm sure that Astor recieved a letter as well.'

No I don't think so. Something felt odd about this. But I wasn't going to reply to the letter anyway. There was no point in it. They wouldn't lift a finger to help us. I wasn't about to help them look any better in the publics eyes.

Grumbling I pick up the last letter and open it.

Run while you can dragon-borne but in the end we will have what we want.

I gag as I notice the blood smears on the page. I slam the paper down and yank my door open. Damien stood across the hall infront of Astor's door. His features etched with concern

"Luna? What's wrong?" I inhale a few deep breaths and try to steady my stomach.

"Get that note out of my office." Damien steps around me and into the office. He was silent and stiff. I flinch as Astor's door swings open. I could hear the wood crack under the weight. Astor stormed into my office picking up the note. He snarls as Aro pulls himself to the surface.

"Get Silias. I want to see if he can use this to track them." Damien nods and moves to exit the room. I hadn't budged from my spot outside the office.

"Luna you look pale are you alright?" I give Damien a curious look. Was that a joke? I always looked pale. I glance at Astor and his worry washed over me. He sat the note down and walked over to me.

"Let's get you in a warm bath. That might help." I hum and allow him to lead me into our room. I inhale a deep breath. My stomache settled.

"I'll run your bath and then let you relax while I deal with what is in your office." I nod my head and sit down on the edge of the bed looking down at my hands.

'It made you sick because it was poisoned blood. You are sensitive to it. There is no shame in it.' I scoff. Yeah that was easy for her to say. She wasn't the one feeling it. Astor comes back out and leans down kissing the top of my head.

"I'll be back in a little while to check on you." I nod and listen to him leave. Honestly the only thing I really wanted to do was sleep.

Whoever sent that note was clearly doing to so to get under my skin and wanted me to feel vulnerable. It had only pissed me off. They were poking a sleeping Dragon..And They wouldn't be able to withstand the flames when they woke it.
