"It's not the sun dance. You did it wrong."
Suri tried to deaf her ears.
"You are the chosen one. Do it right. Not like that!"
The voice became more and more urgent, and it distracted her movements. The voice continued to ring in her ears, but why was there no one to say which one was correct? Suri no longer heard her mother's movement beside her.
She was afraid that if she opened her eyes, she would ruin this ritual and they had to wait another year to perform it again.
"Wrong!"
Suri gasped and accidentally opened her eyes. The Thebis priests still faithfully played the musical instruments. However, when she turned to the side, Suri couldn't find her mother. She turned around and found her mother standing with her head down in front of her. The woman was already outside the ring of flames.
Suri wanted to walk out of the flames and asked why her mother had stopped. Didn't they agree to continue dancing together in the ring of flames?
