Lucky

After a mountain of Chinese Paige excused herself and goes up to her room. She needed time to think. She walked to the balcony and looked out at the night sky. It was clear and the night sky twinkled with stars.

Am I rushing into all this she wondered? Yes, she thought that she definitely was but she also felt so different with Jaxson, Axel and especially cupcake. She didn't think she could leave now even if she wanted too, she was in too deep.

She felt so safe here. Am I safe? The more comfortable she got the more she worried that he will come along and spoil everything for her. She wanted to run from her nightmares and not face them, but maybe with Jaxson it wouldn't be so bad she thought.

"Beautiful?".

She turned to see Jaxson standing on his balcony. He stands up onto his ledge and leaps over and lands beside her.

"What's wrong?".

He looked truly worried about her. It felt nice to be cared for again.

"Nothing... I'm just worried. I never had a relationship and I'm not sure if we are rushing".

She kept looking at the sky. She thought if she looked at him she wouldn't be able to say everything she needed too.

"One day at a time. We aren't rushing, I've yet to take you on a date show you my moves".

Hi, words make her smile and she looked up at him. He's very handsome, his smile and eyes are his best features. She looked to his lips and blushed to remember how heated they had got earlier in Jaxson's.

"Moves?".

"Yes moves your my first girlfriend and I intend on trying all my moves on you to win your heart". She thinks he may have it already Paige thought.

"But your mother?".

"My mum has to remember it's my life she cant choose my partner. Like she didn't pick my dad, its fate. You find your destined partner when you both don't expect it. Look beautiful, all you gotta do is give us a chance. Date me?".

"So a date mmm... show me what you got then".

She reached up and kissed his lips briefly, any longer and she wouldn't be able to stop herself. She pulled his hand and lead him out of her room.

"Goodnight Jaxson".

He stood there a bit shocked at the sudden kiss then gives her a heart-racing smile.

"Night beautiful, dream of me".

"Yeah right!".

An adorable fluff ball waddles to us. Cupcake is in a puppy onesie with ears and a tail.

"Night uncle, I'm sleeping with my pretty sister so don't try and take my place".

She rubbed his wee head and picked him up closing the door behind her. She brought him into bed and then they fell asleep together.

The next few days are a blur. Paige takes cupcake out for the day or they all head to the office.

Everyone at the office seems extremely nice and welcoming. They call Paige lady boss now. It felt weird but she accepted it as long as they didn't think she was some gold digger. Jaxson was very attentive and sweet to her.

Today was their first date.

Jaxson wasn't counting it but Paige was. She waited in his office as he's in a meeting at the moment. She goes to his private bathroom and touched up her lipstick and fixed her hair.

She had on my black skinny jeans, her favourite band t-shirt and her leather jacket. Just to make it more like a date she had added some heels that she had found in the wardrobe.

Jaxson was taking her shopping, she wasn't sure why as he had already fully stocked up her wardrobe.

Knock knock

"Ready to go?".

Paige came out after one last check.

"Let's go".

They drive to a mall and head up to the limited edition brands on the top floor. Jaxson holds her hand and guides her to a store which she had heard of but never dreamt about entering. A lady smiles at the door to welcome them.

"Sir, Miss this way. James will be with you shortly".

We are lead to a well-lit room filled with gowns. There are a sofa and a coffee table and in front of that is a stand and a curtain. She guessed this is one huge changing room.

"Darlings, I was wondering when I would meet your mate. She's so petite and stunning. Aren't you lucky".

"Definitely a lucky man".

Jaxson says and kisses Paige's cheek. She was a bit embarrassed in front of a stranger.

The man had long blonde hair, a beautiful face and one red ear stud in his left ear. His clothes were colourful and flamboyant. She supposed anything is colourful compared to herself, she liked black and red and doesn't have many other colours.

"Hi". Paige goes to shake his hand.

"Oh no no, we hug around here". He engulfs Paige in a huge bear hug.

"Now I'm going to make you even more stunning. What's the event?".

"Its a charity ball". Jaxson had answered for her.

"I'm going to a ball?". She didn't know he had planned another date already.

"Of course you are, I finally have a date so I won't be as bored". He smiled at Paige, hoping she wouldn't refuse him.

"Ok darling come with me, we have a lot to try on and only a little while before dinner".

James pulled Paige over to the racks of clothes his assistant just brought in.

"You are not joining us for dinner". Jaxson says looking a little gloomy.

"I and Evan are joining, we have it booked. Besides it's the only way I'll get to know this beauty before me. It's that or I don't dress her".

James had his arms on his hips and looked quite funny trying to order Jaxson around.

"Fine".

"Oh good, Goddess he's so tame when you are around. I can tell we will be life long friends. You can come to me for anything we can shop and go for drinks".

James chats endlessly about all the things he wants to do, as he piles dress in his hands for Paige to try on and there are a lot.
