Love or pity

Kanye alighted the car, and so did his company. The building before them was an  exclusive one, obviously owned by a wealthy person.

  "So. How did your date go?" Kayne asked, walking to his companion's side of the car and they both began to walk towards the mansion,

    "Why don't you ask her? Besides, it wasn't a date." The guy replied, his soft voice, low.

    Kanye said, "She wouldn't pick up her calls. And I've been too busy to check on her. So tell me. What happened? Did you kiss?" Kayne asked jestingly.

    He clenched his jaws but didn't reply. Kanye groaned, "Come on dude..."

He snapped,"You're bothering me, Kanye! Just stop pestering me! It went fine and perfect! "

Kayne blinked in surprise, not expecting that. Something's wrong. He only yells when he's angry and his questions couldn't have angered him.

  He swiped his ID card across the identification machine and the door beeped and slid open. He walked in and Kanye walked after him.

   The interior of the mansion was just as grande. Everything looked sparkling and glassy and neat. The maids around bowed and were mostly ignored by the two.

    Kanye asked, "Did she come home last night?" Yes. That's the only thing that makes him this angry and then, he'll yell at anyone who disturbs him

  He scoffed, "It's obvious, isn't it? I act like a psycho anytime she does."

Kanye placed a hand on his shoulder, "It's okay. Forget about her. You're with me, okay? So... How was your date?" He grinned.

He groaned, running his fingers through his neatly arranged hair, "If there's a word worse than 'awfully terrible.'..."

    Kayne gaped at him, "Why?"

He sighed,"I don't know. I don't know. I'm just so confused. "

    Kanye's lips thinned as he patted his shoulder comfortingly," It's okay. "

He sighed and the two entered the elevator.

The office was like any other. Neat, arranged and classy. The boys entered and the middle aged man behind the desk looked up, a handsome smile brightening up his initially stoic face. 

  " Hi, boys. "

" Hi, dad." They chorused.

    Areum's fingers ceased to press gently on the piano keys. She sighed, glad she's learnt the song she just finished playing, perfectly.

    It's a slow, sad song, that fits her current mood and aura.

   How's her life been? Pretty terrible. Yes. She's been moping around all day, feeling like there's a deep hole in her heart where all the pain was blooming to the surface.

   How was her outing with Arizona?...

Well, it went kind of like this...

At first, Areum felt as though her heart was gonna burst out of the ribcage. It was beating so fast.

But as their lips touched, she closed her eyes, absorbing the feeling that washed over her body.

She wasn't such an expert kisser. In fact, this is her first and she was glad it went to the guy she has feelings for... Even though.

Arizona on the other hand, was stiff. She.. She.. She kissed him! He blinked, feeling his heart race. No... No. This... They can't be. He's not even sure if he likes or as a friend or if he has feelings for her.

Unwilling to hurt her later, he'll have to do so now. So, gently, he pulled away from the kiss.

He watched her open her eyes, revealing a pair of beautiful green eyes. "Areum..."

Areum looked at him,holding her breath, 'It's either acceptance or rejection '

"I know you might feel... bad about this... But I... "He sighed, thinking of a way to say it mildly.

   Areum felt her heart squeeze. Yup. It's a rejection. Ouch.

" Just say it, Arizona. You don't like me. "

Arizona looked down in guilt, hating to hurt her, but he can't force himself to like or love her." I do. As a friend... "

Areum spat," Oh cut the crap, Ari."Her heart was hurting right now and he's telling her, 'as a friend'

   Arizona said nothing, "I can't force myself to love you, Areum." He finally said solemnly.

Areum felt her eyes sting. Yay! She's gonna cry. She bit her lower lip, "And i can't force you to." with that, she concluded.

  ' Arizona REJECTED me.'

    But funny enough, she couldn't cry. She didn't last night, up till now. Not that she was okay with it, she wasn't. It hurts as fuck. But then,the tears wouldn't come out.

     "Darling? Are you okay? You've been playing since morning. Won't you eat?" Mr Kyung asked in concern, walking into her music room, where she sat quietly on the piano stool, her slender fingers grazing the Ivory keys.

     "I'm not hungry, daddy." Areum murmured as he reached her side and felt her temperature. Areum almost rolled her eyes.

"Come on, you can talk to me."Mr Kyung said. Areum smiled bitterly, 'Oh yeah? Well I got rejected and I just feel like screaming!'

   "I'm okay. I'll eat when I want to. Don't worry too much."

   Mr Kyung felt it was something personal. He smiled and patted her soft hair, "I understand."

     For the first time that day, Areum smiled though it was faint, "I love you, dad."

   "I love you too, daughter."

    Arizona locked his door and walked over to the bed. He slumped tiredly on the bed. If he acts on his anger right now, he'll kill someone.

    Earlier when he entered the living room, Susan was waiting for him, as soon as she saw him, she began to scream, yelling at him,

  "I know you went to that animal of a father you have! And that betrayer you call a brother! How dare you, Arizona! You are no longer related to them! Stop going there! If you do one more time, I'll disown you!"

   He'd eyed her, scoffed and walked away. "Arizona! Arizona!!" But he'd given no acknowledgement.

Ever since the previous night, his mind has been filled. His heart was confounded.

    He likes Areum alright, but he's never considered her anymore than a friend and he was sure he's never done so in his subconscious mind. But yesterday, the moment their lips touched, he felt something he's never felt before. Like a new surge of life entered him.

    And as he spoke to her after, he felt his heart clench at her voice. She'd sounded really hurt.

    Now, he's feeling confused. Is he feeling this pang in his heart because he actually likes or, or because he pities her?

   He groaned, roughing up his hair.No one's gonna answer that question. He'll have to do so himself. But that's when he calms down because right now, he's sure he'll just conclude at something false and regret it. So, once he's calm... He'll think...
