Rising from the Ashes
The first thing Avery felt was warmth—not the suffocating warmth of devastation, but a pleasant, calming sensation that seemed to wrap around her. She slowly opened her eyes, adapting her vision to the smooth, pleasant surroundings. She transformed into status on a meadow, with the sky above her painted in gold and violet.
For a little period, she believed she had become independent. Then she heard a voice.
"You've changed the whole lot."
Avery turned to see Hana standing a few toes away, her figure translucent yet consistent. Her expression became both compassionate and solemn.
"where am I?" Avery inquired, her voice husky.
"You're in the midst," Hana replied. "the space between what has become and what will be. Avery, you have altered the guidelines. Now it's time to face the consequences."
