Meeting Once More!

Ark's and Thufrat's question was answered a question later as a young lady stepped out of the carriage. A mesmerizing pair of red eyes frantically looked around the scene, trying to assert what had happened out here. Her blonde hair flung about as she swung her head around, looking for her maid Maddy. After making sure that her maid was safe and sound. The young lady heaved a sigh of relief before looking around the scene a little more.

Her gaze quickly came to a stop when it landed on Ark and Thufrat, showing evident surprise. She then noticed that one of her bodyguards was knocked out cold, with the rest of them standing at the ready, weapons drawn, facing Ark and Thufrat. A weird glint shone in her eyes as they landed atop Ark once more.

Ark and Thufrat were both dumbfounded at the sight of this young lady walking out from within the carriage. They quickly recovered though, it wasn't that weird. It was almost to be expected, why would there be multiple noble ladies in a backwater city like this? Ark was a little more flustered then Thufrat though. But it was fairly easy for him to hide it.

"Maddy, exactly what is going on right now?" The sound of the noble lady's voice broke the current awkward silence.

Maddy, the maid, seemed to be awoken from her stupor, and she quickly answered her master.

"You see, this dwarf said that they were here for the job as bodyguards. I thought he was joking when he said that the wolf was his partner, and the situation escalated a little. One of the guards insulted the dwarf, and the wolf got mad, resulting in this situation!" After reciting everything that happened as quickly and concisely as she could, Maddy had to gulp for some air. It wasn't a short explanation after all, and she said it all in one breath.

"Hmmm" The noble lady glanced at Ark a little, the wolf seemed annoyed, which wasn't weird, someone insulted its master after all.

"Sigh, it should be fine if both parties just apologize right? I don't want this to become a feud because of such a silly reason." Thufrat proposed when he saw the troubled look on the noble lady's face, she obviously didn't know what to make of the situation.

"That's probably for the better right? We need to get a move on as well." The young lady appreciated the help and decided that it was probably the best solution for now. They could probably make up along the way as long as they spent some time with each other. The only problem was that her bodyguard was knocked out cold, and he needed to wake up for them to be able to solve everything.

In normal cases, the young lady would've been more irritated and angry if someone created trouble with her people, but this situation was a little different. First off, these guards had only started following her recently, and they were her father's people. This made it hard for her to recognize them as her own people. Second of all, they really needed these two people as guards, they didn't have the time to reject them and then try and find new ones. And last but not least, these two didn't seem like bad people at all.

"We just need to wake him up first though, then we can set our differences aside."

When Ark heard this, he glanced at the bodyguard he had just knocked out and started to manipulate the mana in the air around him.

All of a sudden, a faint sizzle was heard as a very meager amount of thunder mana zapped the knocked out bodyguard. It didn't even take a split-second for the once out cold body to shoot straight up.

"Uwaaaaaaah" The man was shocked out of his wits, both literally and figuratively. He quickly tried to get on his feet, but he just fell squarely on his face again. All eyes first shot to the bodyguard, before involuntarily switching to Ark. Ark just shifted his gaze and pouted a little. The young noble lady had an almost unstoppable urge to laugh, but she somehow managed to hold herself back.

After a second or two of confusion and looking around, the bodyguard finally realized the situation and drew his sword. Ark only looked at him with disdain upon seeing this, like drawing his sword would actually make a difference in this situation. [What a complete idiot] was the only thing could think of when he watched this person.

Before he could do anything else, the young noble lady interfered and told him what they had come up with. The man was obviously unwilling as he looked at Thufrat and Ark with disgust and a little fear.

"No way in hell will I apologize to some dwarf and his pesky wolf, I didn't really do anything wrong either!" As these words escaped the bodyguard's lips, the noble young lady's gaze suddenly intensified, and she stared at the bodyguard with a look that could kill. Before the guy could say anything else, she started speaking.

"If that's your attitude, then you might as well just go home, I don't think I want you as my bodyguard!"

This elicited shocked expressions from almost everyone present, but it couldn't be helped, the young noble lady didn't want to put her life in the hands of such a person. He wasn't particularly strong either way, and they would probably survive without him.

As he heard this, he ground his teeth hard, before staring at Ark with malicious intent clear for all to see. He glanced at the young noble lady once, before sheathing his sword and going back to Ravenfront.

"Was that... really ok?" Thufrat asked with some clear concern in his voice, the look that man had in his eyes did not bode well, and he was sure that trouble would be sure to follow.

"It's fine, we really need to get going after all."

"Now, shouldn't we all introduce ourselves?"
