As the darkness inside the chest vanished, Ryu could see the things inside.

When he saw what was in the chest, he was stunned. Inside the chest were many weapons like swords, bows, daggers, knuckles, Spears, staffs, longswords, halberds, and axe too.

He was shocked beyond disbelief after seeing the weapons. One needs to know that for a single weapon, a normal cultivator has to work tremendously.

A weapon for a cultivator is like another limb. They needed it as a part of their life, and here in front of him, so many weapons were lying in a chest.

"Grandpa!! so many weapons!!!" Ryu spoke, almost becoming an idiot.

"Yes, my child, and they are all Earth step or above," He spoke while feeling very proud.

"Earth step!!?" Ryu exclaimed. He knew how important weapons are, and earth step weapon is like a legend to the people of the lower realm.

There are different categories of weapons, as

◆ Common step weapon

◆ Earth step weapon

Each weapon is further divided into three different categories. Low grade, Medium grade, and High grade.

"Grandpa, how do we have so many weapons?"

"These are the memento of our Tatsuya clan!"

"Tatsuya clan!!"

As he was looking at them, his eyes trailed off and he saw some cauldrons and books and some instruments. There were some pill bottles too, but they were all looking empty.

As he was still looking at the things in the chest, Roland interrupted him and said,

"Yes, but we did not come here for these weapons!"

"Not for weapons!!" Ryu spoke, coming out of a daze.

"We are here for the training instruments which will help you in cultivating the Body strengthening realm."

Roland said, while taking some braces out of the chest.

"Body strengthening Realm? Aren't I learning martial arts?" Ryu asked with a perplexed look.

"Yes, but for you to learn some martial art, you need to have a firm body to withstand it," Roland said, looking at Ryu earnestly.

"So that's how it is!" he said, while nodding to Roland.

"Before that, tell me what you know about Body strengthening realm," Roland asked.

"In the body strengthening realm, we strengthen the body with spiritual qi. After you strengthen the body to the fullest," he answered while smiling.

"Very good, now tell me how you strengthen your body?" Roland asked again to hint at him.

"That's by overtaxing it and then supplying it with spiritual Qi... Ah!!"

Ryu looked at the braces in Roland's hands.

"Yes, that's right. These braces will help you in a cultivating body strengthening realm,"

As Roland spoke this, he bent and gave the braces to Ryu.

Taking the Braces in his hands, Ryu looked at them and saw a small dragon trying to get out of the water can be seen on it. There were four braces.

After taking them in hand, he said,

"Grandpa, I feel little weight from them, though!"

"Ha Ha Ha, you will after you wear them," Roland answered while laughing brightly.

"After wearing them? Okk! I'll wear them," he said and wore the braces.

Two in hands and two in legs. Just as wore then a shining red light flashed.

"Thud..." Ryu was on the ground

"Ahhh... Auch..." Ryu exclaimed as he fell to the ground.

"Muahaha... See they are heavy, right?" Roland spoke while seeing Ryu on the ground.

"Gran... Grandpa, Ahh... it's too heavy!!" he spoke as he tried to get up but couldn't.

"It will adjust itself in a moment, so don't worry!!" As Roland said,

Another light shone, but this time it was a tinge of orange, and the weight Ryu was feeling was getting lighter.

"Ooh!! It's not as heavy as it was before!" Ryu spoke as he tried to stand.

"Grandpa, what is this?" Ryu asked after standing as he got curious.

"It is an artifact which was made to help a cultivator for the Body strengthening realm," Roland said.

"An artifact! as those in the cultivation association?" He asked as it baffled him as this was the second time he had come in contact with an artifact.

"Yes, just like those," Roland answered, while taking an axe out of the chest.

Roland spoke while not giving Ryu any chance to speak.

"For a start, you will practice with braces and enter the body straightening realm. After that, you will use this axe as your first weapon to practice," he said while not giving Ryu any chance to speak.

Ryu still had some questions, but seeing that his grandpa was not in the mood to answer, he stopped himself.

"But grandpa if I focus on penetrating the body-strengthening realm, I will have to practice a lot," Ryu said.

"Yes, that's true, so?" Roland asked.

"But I want to help you guys with the household work?" Ryu asked eagerly.

"Oh, that! You will be working with those braces on," he said nonchalantly.

"Hmm!?" Ryu was a little stupefied as he heard this.

He wanted to help the family, but he did not know that he would have to work while having this much weight on his body.

"But that would be hard, grandpa!"

He said while thinking about what will happen to him if he works with this much weight.

"Getting panicked now? I haven't even started yet!!" Roland said while looking at Ryu with a non-satisfied look.

"What? N... No, I am not panicking, I will do it, this much weight is nothing to me!!" Ryu said while trying to walk with the weight.

Roland started giggling a little. After some time, Ryu stopped and dropped to the ground.

He was already full of sweat, his veins popped out as this was very taxing on his body.

Roland saw this and walked to him and gave him a water pouch. Seeing this, Ryu took this and started drinking heavily.

"Gulp... Gulp..."

"Ahh... this just hits the spot!" Ryu said.

"Start the breathing technique and strengthen your muscles!!" Roland said.

"Yes!!" Ryu said as he got up and sat in the lotus position.
