As I carried the unconscious child in my back teleporting my way back to the nearest outpost I thought of what to do, the demon they summoned was likely the one who burned the village, and therefore there most be a reason why, more importantly, what should I do with the child, he would no longer be the same, he didn´t have a family or purpose.

I already had all the information i needed, the attack to the village of Litua was a plan to get rid of a specific person or familiy who were hiding there, this kid and his family were colateralls.

i decide to stop the interrogation, any more of this and the poor child will break, and he losed his will to live, the only thing left was vengance, it would slowly erode his soul but it would likely let him live until he figured it out, but the demon was dead, and the frontier was not a place were a child should be.

I could teach him the way of the army, but should such a young child decide that I let these poor villagers die for the same reason, should they carry the guilt of living whilst their friends and family died? I preferred to be cursed and prevent that suffering.

As I decided the fate of the poor kid, the child in question was sleeping profoundly, unknown of the upcoming choice he would face.

< Your fate is changing>…

Aron, woke up in rumble, a dead soldier, most likely the guard who escorted him, laid dead beside him, he firmly grabbed the musket in his hand, which, was severed from his body and rested on debris a bit more to the left than the rest of the body.

Aron was shocked from this scenes, but quickly recovered from the mental shock, he had done something far worse for pettiest reasons, he climbed his way through the debris and took the musket of the dead soldiers and searched for bullets, a single silver bullet was in chamber ready to fire.

As he prepared to flee from the scene, he noticed the body of a demon laying on the ground, it was convulsing violently and melted and reformed in quick succession, the through an unknow process melted completely and acquired the shape of a man.

He recognized that man, his best friend, and humanity's biggest sinner.

Leopold was staying in this hellish place.

He knew that was impossible, it most likely was a demon who used some sort of will to manipulate the form of his face, but he still felt the urge to kill the man.

Suddenly a silver figure clashed with the demon, the demon started talking about something but he didn´t care, it was a unique opportunity, a perfect opportunity to kill the man he desired to get rid most.

Aron runed in his direction and quickly aimed towards his head.

With the flick of the trigger, a man or demon was no more, no more than a corpse laying on the ground.

He stared at the captain, his eyes were cold, as they always had been, but their carried a new emotion, pity, pity was a dangerous emotion that makes cold men mad, and madmen serious.

Aron fainted, as he look in detail the battle field for the first time, corpses burned and with missing limbs, puddles of blood and crawling men reaching for their guns to end their suffering.

He fainted as he looked at hell, yet, as comfort, the hell he saw was slightly better to the one he created back there.

I woke up in what appeared to be an early version of a hospital bed.

Only if this place was half of what a hospital would loke like, there was a wooden floor and stone walls.

By the sides of the wall's papers were pinned papers, which drawings were changing rapidly, I recognized the language and figured their purpose, their were my hearth beat and oxygen rate.

Mesmerized by the strange combination of technologies, I failed to notice the handcuffs that tied him to the bed.

Stopping contemplating the medieval hospital room, a man he recognized very well entered the room, now wearing his usual green military suit, with many badges hanging on his chest, sit in a chair next to me.

- You must be asking why you are cuffed.

- y..y..yes sir, Captain.

- The reason for that is for you not to hurt yourself, other kids in situations similar to you would enter a state of psychosis, the things you saw and lived shouldn´t happened to anyone your age.

"*sighs*

He says that but very well knows everything that is happening at the border "

- That's why I sincerely apologize, you shouldn´t have killed that demon, it was a blessing he didn´t leave a curse in you, I'm grate full you helped me deal with the demon, for that reason I'll like to make you an offer.

"So he apologizes for me making his job?, he must think that demon killed my family or something, "

- I can grant you two option you would normally don´t have, the first one, you go to the capital and go to an orphanage in the kingdoms hearth, even if you are not adopted you´ll live a peaceful life…

- or?

- Or you join the army, the minimum age to join the army is 16 springs old, and your half the age, but that doesn´t affect the son or students of high ranking military officers, so you can come with me and finished what you started, I saw on your face the sight of hatred, you´ll normally have to wait 8 more springs, and maybe the war is over by then, but I offer you the chance of revenge now.

" Why are you offering a kid to join the war, you just love to make any passer by a troop, unfortunately I don´t have better options, by body is already at peak physical condition but I could learn how to use a weapon"

- i.. I'd like to follow you back to the frontier, captain.

-…, fate has been cruel to you Recruit, I'll fill the paperwork, get more rest, for the following years you´ll lack a proper one.

The captain quickly stood up, grated me farewell and walked through the door.

My fate was decided just like that, my first years of life would spend on a battled field.

Such a great start.
