Chapter 2 Take Care of Yourself

Judy sneered at Phil, "Aren't you naive? How do I know if there is money in it?"

"A good-for-nothing. Do you get a hundred thousand?"

"Are you kidding me!"

Judy rolled her eyes.

Phil gritted his teeth, looking at Judy as if fire could seep out of his eyes. For a moment, Judy had an illusion Phil might violently kill her!

"Judy, I'm glad we lived for three years!"

"I'm also glad that you are Claudia's mother!"

Judy opened her mouth but didn't know what to say. For some reason, there was fear across her heart, and a chill rushed from her skull!

Phil looked away from Judy and set his eyes on Claudia.

"Tomorrow morning, I will wait for you at Civil Affairs Bureau!"

After speaking, Phil turned around and was about to leave.

Just after taking several steps, he stopped suddenly.

"Also. Don't worry about my things. Just throw them all away..."

"Anyway, I'm never coming back!"

"Seven years..."

"Claudia, I really regret it!"

"Maybe, I shouldn't have known you in the first place..."

After Phil finished speaking, he walked out of the Loewy family without looking back.

The night in River City was bitingly cold.

Phil wandered on the road. Behind him, a red Ferrari engine roared. It almost turned the aisle at the fastest speed and finally stopped in front of Phil.

The Ferrari door opened. A woman with a pair of slender, straight, round and fair legs stepped out of the car. Then, in a tight white skirt with long fluttering hair, she smiled charmingly at Phil.

She was taller than Claudia.

She was also prettier than Claudia.

"Mr. Yates, Mr. Boris called and asked me to pick you up." The woman walked to Phil.

Phil took a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and put it in his mouth, "It's so late. Sorry to bother you."

The woman named Renee Clerk was one of his college classmates. But unlike Claudia, Renee was the school belle when she was in college.

During the four years of college, Renee naturally had no interaction with Phil.

But three months ago, she accidentally discovered that her college classmate was the president of Optimus Group when Renee joined the company!

From that day on, Renee got attached to Phil.

She even gave up his position as supervisor and became Phil's secretary.

Staying by Phil's side every day, she hinted at him overtly and secretly.

She didn't give up after learning Phil was married.

"Did you quarrel with Claudia again?"

Renee leaned beside Phil, looking at Phil's side face. For a moment, she was a little obsessed.

Phil shook his head with a wry smile, smoking a cigarette.

"It's not a quarrel..."

"I'm gonna divorce!"

"Divorce?"

Renee frowned.

Phil took a deep breath, "They looked down on me, thinking I'm just a good-for-nothing, not worthy of the proud Claudia."

Renee stopped and looked at Phil in astonishment.

"Why?"

"Don't they know who you are?"

The dignified president of Optimus Group condescended to be the live-in son-in-law of the Loewy family for three years. But he was not wanted and was kicked out?

Everyone knew Optimus Group in River City!

The gigantic enterprise accounted for 50% of River City's GDP in three years!

The president of Optimus Group would frighten River City with a word!

He was powerful enough to destroy the Loewy family, different from crushing an ant to death!

Was he scolded as trash?

It turned Renee's world upside down.

Did the Loewy family think with their toes?

Phil stomped out the cigarette butt and smiled wryly again.

"When I returned to River City three years ago, it happened that Renee Clerk's father passed away. The company was also in a debt crisis. The family relatives even wanted to occupy her father's inheritance. So Claudia was in a bad state of mind during that time."

"So I gave up my work and stayed by her every day. I just hoped I could be with her whether it was washing and cooking or daily necessities. I wanted her to recover as soon as possible and not do anything stupid because of his father's death."

"It turned out that I flattered myself!"

Phil's hands trembled slightly. It had been three years. The three years of feelings just disappeared overnight.

Renee was a little moved and stretched out her arms to hug Phil, "Actually, you still have me."

"Can you give me a chance?"

"I really like you."

Renee's eyes were red. She raised her head and looked at Phil.

Phil didn't speak, nor did he push Renee away.

After a long while, he let out a long sigh, "It's getting late. Take me home!"

Lowering her head, Renee let go of Phil's arm with a sad expression and held his arm.

They got in the car. Renee sent Phil back to his house.

It was Blue Bay.

It was the most expensive villa in River City and also one of the properties developed by Optimus Group.

Among them, the villa 001 was heavily guarded all year round. No one knew who lived in it.

Only Renee knew it was Phil's home.

At noon. In the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Watching the steel stamp land on the photo of the divorce certificate, Phil suddenly felt a little dazed.

The seven-year relationship between Claudia and him seemed to be completely over!

"We are divorced. From today on, we have nothing to do with each other!"

Claudia picked up the divorce certificate and looked at Phil.

Phil got up and was about to leave, but Claudia stood in front of him.

"Are you so ruthless?"

Claudia's face was full of sullen anger. After all, they were husband and wife for three years. She wondered why Phil was so cold-blooded.

Even though their marriage was already in name only!

They had lived together for three years!

Seeing the calmness on Phil's face, Claudia felt uncomfortable all over.

Obviously, she dumped the trash, Phil. But why did she feel like she was divorced?

Looking at Claudia, Phil stretched out his hand to help her smooth the hair around her ears.

"From now on, you will be alone. Live a good life."

Claudia was speechless. A sense of suffocation spread all over her body.

Why did she feel she had lost something very important?

"Was it Phil?"

"How is it possible? The trash has nothing to keep me. I divorced him for my better future!" thought Claudia.
