The Disconnected Circle

Someone who wishes something that they do not know the weight of should never ask for the wish. No matter if he or she wishes by only saying it out of the blueness of their spirit. This novel follows the journey of a young man named Enso, who confessed his love for his childhood bestfriend, Ren. However, reality was harsh and cold like a blunt knife, and he was bluntly rejected, resulting in him carelessly wishing for something he did not know the weight of. And now that his wish was heard, it was granted duly.

A Great Tomorrow

As the sunshine hits Enso's eyelids, his eyes began to move and soon he opened his eyes, revealing his beautiful ocean blue eyes for the sun to see, if the sun was a person.

He began seeing the sun shining through his wooden window-

"Wait!! what the, when did my window look like a cabin window?"

Enso hurriedly went up from laying the moment he realized that something was wrong, horribly wrong.

He began looking around the room and what he saw only made his anxiety and confusion increase.

"The fuck?! this isn't my room!"

A cabin-looking room with a red rug placed flat on the floorboards, and then some cheap-looking paintings that were looking like it was made by a kindergartener were hanging on the walls. While some random stuffs like a decrepit-looking table with a make-shift vanity on it.

This was all in contrast to what he knows his room had. He knew that he hated rugs, while a vanity? He barely does anything to improve how he looks, so why would he need one? And he was sure that he had a desktop.

What?! Where?? Where did all my stuff go?! What is this?!

Questions began dominating his mind as he continues looking around. Until he suddenly got startled by a loud and vibrating bang coming from under this wooden floor, like something huge was thumping under this room.

This room was basically tremoring from whatever construction work was happening outside, or so he thought.

"Am i, am i hallucinating?!"

He yelled on top of his lungs, this was his way to vent out his current confusion and welling up anxiety. Plus, his post sleep clarity did not even help but only made him more agitated.

Seconds after, somebody, no, a woman came rushing in through the door. And as she opened the door, Enso began to hear voices and noises of people seemingly coming from outside this room.

*BOOM

The sound of the door slamming on the walls reverberated throughout the room, followed by her yelling-

"LUCAS!! HOW MANY TIMES AM I GONNA CALL YOU TO HELP ME DOWNSTAIRS"

It was Ochako, his mother, but something was different, especially her clothing, it looked like a peasant's clothing from the european medieval times' from what he'd seen from the movies.

"Mom? What is that you're wearing?"

He asked in confusion.

"What?! Are you insulting me now?! I'm right here taking care of our pub downstairs that's why i look like this!"

Ochako was offended by Enso's, no, Lucas' comment.

"A pub?! When the hell did we have a pub?! And are you calling me Lucas?! Mom are you going insa-"

Lucas intensely asked in confusion, he was genuinely confused as to how their peaceful modern house had turned into this cabin-looking medieval peasant confines, and now a pub adding to that. But he was interrupted by his increasingly annoyed mother.

"LUCAS!!!! STOP YOUR NONSENSE ALREADY AND GET TO WORK!!"

Ochako pulled him forcibly from bed to which he was really shocked at the strength his mom used on him.

He was thrown stumbling at the door, and this time, what he was wearing were revealed to him.

Looking down at himself and checking his hands, he was really wide-eyed at everything.

He was wearing a classic brown peasant tunic, which was extremely itchy, coupled with a pair of trousers as they call it, cascading down his legs, and then his worn-down brown shoes.

"WHAT THE HECK AM I WEARING?!"

He yelled at himself.

"Lucas..."

Ochako from behind began figuratively exuding an bull-like nose steam.

Lucas turned around and could only shiver in fear after remembering the strength he felt from her earlier.

"O-okay..whatever.... i'll get to whatever work i'm going to do..."

He then went and opened the door, heading out of the confines of his room without looking at his mother.

As he exits, he then sees a hallway with a lot of doors, like a medieval fantasy inn. His eyes were practically popping out of his eyesockets from all the incredulity happening to him right now.

"What in the peanut butter fuck happened to our house?!"

The place was changed overnight, or so he thinks, which was the most logical reasoning for all of this happening to him.

But he wanted to give himself a mental rest from all of the changes, he was beginning to wonder if this were just an incredibly realistic dream. And so he headed downstairs, the reason for this is because for him, the logical way out of this dream, if this was a dream, was to go somewhere where a lot of people who couldn't be real are at. That way, he was sure to find out if this was actually all a dream.

And as he carefully steps down the wooden stairs, the voices became incresingly louder with each steps, until he finally began seeing figures down the stairs.

"Hey Carl!!!! How's your day?"

"YOU PUNK!!!"

"Hey there pretty lady, c'mere!"

"Hey shut up! you're drunk!"

All types of speeches and talks were everywhere, the loudness was also accompanied by the combined smell of beer, sweat, saliva, and even shit for some disgusting reason.

There was also a gigantic man of stature blocking the stairs, and so he had to say-

"E- Excuse me"

He excused himself and tried to squeeze through but the big guy won't budge, and the guy didn't seem to hear him either.

"*Sighs*"

He could only sigh from everything. And as seconds pass by, a tearing headache began boiling inside his head.

None of this was downing on him, these sensations all feels too real, he was getting exasperated and tired by the combined mental exhaustion from both the confusion and restlessness he was feeling. He was overwhelmed.

And as he continued being torn apart by the convulsing headache and the noises all around him, his vision began blurrying and mixing up colors and then it all went dark.

And as he collapses, his body hit the man blocking the stairs from behind. The man turned around and saw that a small and young man was leaning at him.

He tried to push Lucas away because he thought he was napping on him, but he soon realized that the young man was not simply napping, the lad was cold.

"Lad! Lad! are you okay?!"

He shook Lucas while holding his shoulders.

"Aye Simon! a lad here has collapsed!"

The man called for someone from the counter.

But before the person from the counter could reach them, Ochako from upstairs arrived and saw the situation. And unfortunately, she mistakenly misunderstood the situation and reacted negatively towards the poor man holding Lucas.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY SON?!"

Were the last words the man heard before a grueling fist collided with his face, sending him towards somewhere Lucas was familiar with earlier.

"Ooh"

"Ouch"

"Dang that Lady is powerful"

Were the comments of the people around the collapsed Lucas and the man who tried to help him.

Soon, the man from the counter who was called earlier arrived.

"Teresa?! what did you do to Felix?! That's our customer!"

It was Ochako's, no, Teresa's one and only husband, Simon, and also the father of Lucas.

And it seems that the man who tried to help Lucas was named Felix.

"He hurt our son! Simon! Look!"

Teresa told Simon as she approaches Lucas on the floor.

"What?! why would he do tha-"

"Simon, help me take care of our son first before worrying about the person who hurt him!"

Teresa interrupted Simon's dumb question.

"Oh my lord!!! Lucas!! he's cold!! Lucas is cold!! Simon!!!"

Teresa was now freaking out because Lucas is showing symptoms of someone who's dying.

---

And so both the parents put Lucas back to bed and were forced to close their pub early because of what happened. They also called for the local cleric to check Lucas for any diseases or injuries.

They found out from the cleric that the reason for Lucas' collapse was because of mental exhaustion, and that Lucas was not harmed physically. But the cleric also told them that Lucas seems to have been stressed so badly that he was now going to be bedridden until he wakes up.

Lucas' parents were devastated by these turn of events, resulting into them feeling intense emotions, also resulting into their clouded judgement. And so despite knowing that Felix had not hurt their child, they still accused Felix of something he did not do.

Felix was sent unconscious to the prison and was charged for attempted murder by the local guards.

---

Darkness filled everything, there was nothing, no light, no sound, no smell, no temperature, nothing.

Lucas#$#&Enso was now within a place where the dead is only allowed.

Where am i? Is this me waking up? or did we have some sort of blackout and my room has no lights?'

No, this place is weird....I can't feel my bedsheets, i feel....nothing

Why are you back here, Lucas? no, Enso?

A voice that seems to come only from within his head sounded.

What? what do you mean i'm back here?! when was i ever anywhere other than my bedroom?!

And who the fuck are you? You know i've been having some weird ass dreams, and now this?!

He continued ranting about everything he has experienced, but none of his questions were answered.

Wait, did you, did you die again?

Lucas#$#&Enso was once again, confused by the words of this mysterious head voice.

WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN BY ME DYING?! YOU KNOW I HAVE BEEN SO CONFUSED LATELY, I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT'S REAL ANYMORE, JUST TELL ME WHAT'S HAPPENING!!!!

And so he continued intensely cursing at the head voice entity, until the latter said its last words.

I'm sorry, Enso, but this is your wish, it has been granted by me. And so you must experience your wish. I must bring you back for the last time, and as for the punishment of you trying to kill yourself, i will give you something.

Enso#$^%#Lucas became more agitated by these words and continued saying-

YOU FUCKING MOTHERFUCKER, JUST TELL ME WHAT'S HAPPENING AT FIRST-

But before he could finish his venting of frustration towards the entity, the darkness disappeared, and soon he was back.

He rose up from the bed, and again, he was back.

Back in this cabin-looking room of hell.

"WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!!!"
