Chapter 4: Contact

On the thirty-story Mermess office building, the top five floors were for the board of directors and the top floor of the company was the CEO and the president's office.

It was previously an old real estate company that was on the verge of bankruptcy. But Mermess, a newbie real estate company, took over it. After that, it was the heyday of Mermess that could increase its profits to record highs within a few years.

Shortly after they could also lead the company to get the company listed on the stock exchange and became a public company. The company was able to raise capital from investors around the world in huge amounts, causing Mermess to be one of the world's valuable companies.

The chairman of the board at that time was NAKROP THANAPOOMIN, who was only 25 years old, with another of his close friends who was CEO. The Board of Directors of Mermess are executives from Mermess and former executives from the companies that he took over. Although there are not many because most of them will resign after he took over it.

But even though there were not many, NAKROP was constantly annoyed by the thoughts of those old executives. Most of them were old people and had a fixed mindset that stick to the original idea. Moreover, they were egoistic and arrogant personality thinks that the younger one must obey the older one. It made NAKROP almost lose their composure all the time. Therefore, every time there was an executive board meeting, NAKROP would use a great deal of stamina that they used to fight those conservative administrators.

And today too, after a morning board meeting that took almost three hours to conclude made NAKROP very tired. That's why he reclined the seat of his work chair along with laying down on that chair exhaustedly.

Suddenly the sound the office door opened, and someone entered carelessly. But NAKROP had not opened his eyes a bit because he knew that in Mermess there was only one person who dared to do that.

"Oh- Are you exhausted? President..."

The teasing tone of a man in a gray suit and the white inner shirt was about a few buttons unbuttoned. It was revealing a white chest muscular and without a necktie because it was very annoying for him. That man took off his outer suit and leaned against the sofa in the middle of NAKROP's office. He sat comfortably, then TEACHIN brought water to serve him.

"I really have a headache with them… die..."

NAKROP's voice rang out while his eyes were still closed.

"Dinosaurs are like that… trust me. It will be extinct on its own."

The man's calm voice spoke up and held a glass of water that TEACHIN had just placed in his hand while staring at the drop of water beside the glass that slowly trickled down until it landed on his lap with a sly smile.

"So, how's it going? Have you checked them?"

NAKROP lifted his chair and looked at the man with serious eyes. That man who NAKROP was staring was the CEO of Mermess, KAVIN HASDIMETHAKORN, one of the co-founders of Mermess and brought Mermaids to the success of today.

"Well— it's almost done. It won't be long now..."

KAVIN replied to him in a carefree tone and the gaze that looked back with a sly smile.

"What did you find out…"

A warrior who knows his friend's personality well said with a still serious expression on his face. Until Kawin saw this, he laughed a little when he imagined that his friend was in love. NAKROP saw Gavin's expressions even frowned in dissatisfaction.

"I found a lot of suspicious… and it is very cool."

KAVIN replied, turning to look at the water glass with eyes as if a lion was staring at its prey.

"So— I'll be able to get rid of my headache for a while."

"Ha-ha, you are too serious…you can relax."

NAKROP furrowed his brows with no understanding. He was serious, is it bad? He thought to himself. When KAVIN saw this, he smiled and rose from the sofa, grabbed his jacket, and walked out of the room. Before leaving the room, he turned to NAKROP with a sentence that caused NAKROP to think deeply.

"If you are still like this, be careful that you will be single for the rest of your life— SINGHA."

SINGHA was NAKROP's nickname that KAVIN often called him. They were childhood friends, so they were very close.

NAKROP thought about what KAVIN's sentence just said at that moment, he didn't understand at all.

Single of the rest of his life, huh— didn't seem like what KAVIN said at all. He often found the women who always seduced and tried to approach him every time he met, making him feel annoyed every time too.

NAKROP shook his head in disbelief at his best friend's words. After that, he got up to have lunch in his private room, which TEACHIN had already prepared for him.

Suddenly, TEACHIN opened the door and walked into the room while he held the phone to his ear.

"Excuse me, president, you have a call from your nephew's School…"

NAKROP raise an eyebrow and stared at TEACHIN questioningly.

"From the guidance teacher...she wants to make an appointment to talk about your nephew. Would you like me to schedule an appointment?"

TEACHIN asked his boss. NAKROP furrowed his brows in thought when hearing about CHOMTAP. He was beginning to worry that CHOMTAP had any problem or something else making the guidance teacher want to meet him like this.

"Tell her… I will go there tomorrow afternoon."

"Ok, I'll do as you please sir."

Then TEACHIN went out and immediately follow the orders of his master. After TEACHIN left, NAKROP was still standing there with a face that was more worried than ever as his mind was thinking about his nephew.
