Chapter 13: The rainy day

That evening—

PARAMEE stood in front of the guidance room looking at the pouring rain as if falling in front of her with clearly bored eyes. Then she looked down at the old, distorted umbrella in her hand with anger.

She said she would stop by to buy a new umbrella in the morning before going to school, but she completely forgot it. In addition, when she would use an old umbrella that was carried from the condo, it became a piece of trash instead of an umbrella.

"Damn it— why was it so unlucky today? There are also some important documents in the bag. Ahh— or I try to wade through the rain, fortunately, the parking lot is close by."

She mumbled to herself, so she decided to run through the rain to her car. Suddenly, she was shocked to hear a familiar voice ring out behind her.

"Hey! Are you going back? Where's the umbrella?"

CHOMTAP spoke up in a curt tone and walked with an umbrella to meet her who standing in front of the guidance room.

"As you can see… And then CHOMTAP... Why are you talking to me so curtly? And you should call me teacher…"

PARAMEE stood with arms akimbo and reproved CHOMTAP in a serious voice.

"It's so noisy!"

"Wait!!"

Seeing that CHOMTAP did not seem to call her teacher and turned away from her. Then PARAMEE walked around to stare at him with doubtful eyes. Her eyes narrowed as she stared at him thoughtfully.

CHOMTAP was startled when he felt her gaze closely and when he made eye contact with Parmi's serious eyes. He felt that his face temperature was increased promptly.

PARAMEE saw that CHOMTAP's face was red, she was worried and asked.

"Hey— CHOMTAP, are you sick?"

PARAMEE tried to reach out and touch his forehead to take a temperature. CHOMTAP knew what she was going to do, so he hurriedly brushed off her hand with his arms raised to cover his ruddy face.

She stood and looked at him incredulously. While he saw this, so he felt that if he continued to stay like this, he thought he must have had a fever. So, he handed his umbrella over to PARAMEE, still facing the other direction and stammering.

"I— I give… ah— you …hmm! Teachers can use it."

"No!! So, what will you use? You may be wet with a cold, then you can't come to study...you can use it. I will run over by myself. My car is parked in a nearby garage."

"It's okay... Teacher, you can use it."

"Eh!! Why don't you get my idea? You must use it."

"Teacher, take it. I'm fine..."

The two were disputed with each other for several minutes. When PARAMEE saw that if they were still arguing like this, she and CHOMTAP must have come home late at night. So, she suggested a way out.

"Sigh- so here we go. Let's use it together. You just walked me to the car."

CHOMTAP turned to look at PARAMEE with a startled expression. PARAMEE saw CHOMTAP standing there dumbfounded. So, she grabbed his umbrella and spread it, and turned to call him to join the umbrella together.

"Come on, let's go home, it's going to be late."

PARAMEE stood with an umbrella and waited for him. When he saw this, he walked to her with a throbbing heart.

"I'll hold it by myself..."

"Hmm— you mean I'm short?"

"Not like that…"

CHOMTAP held an umbrella and extended it towards PARAMEE. Causing one side of his shoulder to get wet in the rain, but he didn't care.

"Hey— stand that far away, you'll get wet."

"I- it's okay."

They walked to the school's garage. PARAMEE ran to her car and waved goodbye to CHOMTAP.

"Thank you, CHOMTAP. It's good to go home."

"Ok"

PARAMEE smiled, hurriedly packed her things into the car, and drove off, leaving CHOMTAP to stare, following her with absent-minded eyes.

"Mr. CHOM…this way."

The sound of the driver calling CHOMTAP caused him to regain consciousness, but his face was still red like that.

"Eh— Your shirt wet."

"Nothing. Let's go home."

CHOMTAP walked into the car and ignored the driver who looked at him worriedly. Because it seemed like the driver noticed that CHOMTAP's face was red, he thought CHOMTAP was sick.

'Or should I stop by to buy medicine for Mr. CHOM before going home?'

------------------------

NAKROP sat and waited for CHOMTAP in the great hall of the house along with working. When he heard a car turning into the house's parking, he stopped his working hand and placed it on the table. He turned to greet CHOMTAP who was walking into the house with his shirt wet.

"You bring an umbrella, didn't you? Why do you get wet like that?"

He asked his nephew in a calm voice, his brow furrowed, and looking at CHOMTAP inquisitively. And when he saw that CHOMTAP's hand was holding an umbrella, he became even more suspicious.

"Is the umbrella broken?"

"No- I will leave first."

CHOMTAP cut off the script and walked up to his room with the eyes of NAKROP looking at him contemplatively.

After a while, there was a warning sound that there was an incoming email. So NAKROP turned his attention to that email. And when he saw the subject of the email, he immediately opened it.

'Observation Day 2'

The email contains a detailed summary of PARAMEE's daily life, along with a video clip attached. When NAKROP watched the video, he realized why the wet CHOMTAP came home with an umbrella, and his eyes instantly darkened.

He couldn't have brought his nephew closer to PARAMEE than this.
