Peace before the storm [2]

Morning classes ended upon the monotonous sound of the bell.

"Yo Richard! Want to grab lunch?" a black haired teenager asked, his tone friendly.

"Sure Leon. Let me just finish up here.. and done. let's get going. " Richard speaks his attitude much friendlier than before.

Richard and Leon were friends who had met at the start of their education in high school. Both came from bad families, so a sense of brotherhood had formed between them.

"By the way Leon your full name is Leon Anderson, right? I'm just double checking.." Richard chatted with Leon, bringing up random conversations while they went to the canteen.

" Bro, by the way, did you see that new chick from class? Her name was Anastasia and godammn she was cute.." Leon said.

"Leon, what is it with you and girls? For once, stop thinking with your lower half already..ooh and a new girl joined? I wasn't paying attention besides us normies, Isn't this school filled with tens?" Richard teases Leon while eating his lunch.

"S-shut it bro. I am gonna land many beauties one day and I will marry them all!! Watch me!!" Leon counters Richard.

"Sure and Hitler liked Jewish people" Richard said his tone filled with sarcasm.

"By the way Richard I am worried about you bro..your grades are only barely making it.." Leon changes topic.

"Aren't you changing gears quite quick? To answer your question I am studying and trying to improve my grades. Thanks for your concern man." Richard speaks while muching on his food.

The duo eat their food and head to class.

Class end and they both leave the school.

"See you tomorrow bro! I am gonna jerk of- study! Adios! Remember you have got homework!!" Leon says as he leaves

"That idiot..Time to head back eh..Great I am gonna have to deal with that bitch of a mother.." Richard says his tone laced with discontent.

Richard heads home in silence with no one to interact. Thinking about his past.

His parents were abusive. They acted like they cared but in truth his very existence is something they couldn't stand. Few years ago Richard did his best to please them but it was never enough and he got tired and stopped caring. Eventually not much mattered besides leaving that family and his Few friendships that he painstakingly built. Despite all the suffering Richard vowed to live his life peacefully and went on to search for said peace.

Yet deep down he wished for more drama and action to fill up in his life to giving meaning to his miserable existence.
