The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 81:

Lyra's POV:

"I still can't believe this is happening. And so fast!" I paced nervously around the room.

Yes, I'm the Khamatu and this was what my training has been all about but was I ready?

I mean this is a huge responsibility and the fate of the world literally rests on my shoulders.

What if I mess up?

Or can't keep up with my mothers' legacy?

"Lyra relax. Take deep breaths. Everything is going to be fine" Cyrus tried calming me down but I was too tense.

"what if I'm not strong enough? Or they capture me again? Or-"

"shhh. Take deep breaths. Calm yourself down" he placed both hands on my shoulders and I did my best to stay calm.

"you're not going to get captured. That only happened because you were isolated but this time, you'll have everyone; including an army" he moved away and backed against me.

"and as for being fast enough-" in an instant, he turned around and threw a dagger at me which I caught before it could hurt me.

"you're strong and fast! Don't bother about anything. When the time comes, you'll know what to do" he came closer and wrapped his arms around me.

It actually calmed me down and I felt my once tense body relax against him.

The fact that he had never been loved before made me drawn to him for some odd reason.

He's always in my head.

Especially after our first real kiss.

Not like when he forcefully kissed me and drank from me after.

This time was totally different.

"thank you; I really needed that" I blushed as he slowly detached from me.

There was an awkward silence that lingered before I broke it asking a simple question to keep the conversation going.

"s-s-so after all this is over; what are you going to do? Go back to your kingdom?"

"well; honestly I don't think I would go back because I haven't finished my mission or should I say what brought me here. If that doesn't work, then I'll stay here for a little while before returning to Redlake" he shrugged.

"speaking of which; what brought you here?" I asked tilting my head slightly.

"it was you" Cyrus turned to face me.

I thought he was joking and expected to see a smile on his face but nothing.

"a-are you joking?" I took two steps back.

Cyrus stood where he was and signed.

"the main reason I'm here is because I realized why I treated you so badly was because I loved you but didn't know how to express it. I came all this way to try and win you over. You're the only reason I'm still here. Well you and the upcoming war" he rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

"Cyrus…" I found myself calling his name before asking again.

"w-what if I don't love you back?" it was hard to miss the broken-hearted look on his face before he quickly covered it up with a smile that was fake.

"then I would be happy with your decision and maintain our friendship" he did his best to cover it up but I could see right through him.

From hearing everything he's been through; I'm the only person he's ever truly loved and he really wants to make an effort to make it work.

Now that I think about everything he's done since he got here; I realize I've been a selfish fool for not seeing it sooner.

He loved me enough to give me time to grow and adjust; to forgive him for his past and for everything he had done to me.

Especially that day at the dance:

My hand shakily made its way to one of his shoulders.

"Cyrus…I can't dance; I'll step on your toes" I blush with my head down.

"well you've stepped on my heart and I'm not dead yet so I think I can handle you stepping on my toes"

The guilt in me multiplied and I wanted to face-palm myself for being so stupid and cold hearted.

"Cyrus I'm really sorry for how I treated you in the past" I pleaded.

"so am I. But in all fairness; you did pay me back for how mean I was to you" he smirked as he walked towards me.

"well if you put it that way then you deserved it" I smiled, feeling his arms wrap around his waist.

"I really did but I don't think I'll ever deserve your kindness. I-"

"I know you are still trying to forgive yourself over everything but if it makes you feel better; I think I'm starting to fall for you" there I said it.

His reaction was the last thing I wanted to see so I turned away with my cheeks bright and red.

Silence…total silence but he placed a hand on my cheek and turned my head to face him.

His beautiful forest green eyes entranced me.

"I've waited so long to hear those words. Though you haven't fully accepted me but we're getting there"

His intimidating height made me stand on the tips of my toes just to plant a kiss on his check.

Which shocked him at first.

His eyes were round like saucers before the softened and his smile grew even more.

Cyrus large hands cupped my cheeks and his lips met mine in an instant.

He was my first kiss though he stole the first one from me; but now I'm willing to give him this with no ulterior motive.

"I can't wait for the day I get to claim you as my own" he detached from me.

I could see the lust swirling in his eyes.

The very thought of getting intimate with him made my entire body over-heat.

I'm sure he could see it too because the room was immediately filled with a hearty laugh.

"I would never force you to do something you don't want to. You're meant to know that by now" he placed a gentle kiss on my forehead.

"that's one of the things I love about you. I truly appreciate how you are now" the new Cyrus is more than I could ask for.
