The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 4:

How such could happen was beyond me.

The house was a huge mess.

Things were scattered and broken like there was a huge fight happened right here.

Wait!

Where's me-maw?

A whole new sense of fear filled me.

If she had left, there would be a sign or something that she would leave behind.

"me-maw?"  my voice was shaky.

It was taking a whole lot for me not to cry.

I could barely see.

When coughing filled my ears, I ran to the sound.

I ran to where the sound was coming from and noticed a huge plank atop something.

Gathering enough strength, I took it off.

There she was.

Me-maw was bleeding with a wound that was by the right side of stomach.

"me-maw? W-what happened?" I cuddled her limp body close to mine.

This can't happen at least not now.

Not when we're going to be free at long last.

Not when we planned to escape.

Why today?

"Lyra? T-they came; you have to run" she was acting scared and using up the last of her energy.

"Who came?" I was fighting back my tears.

"vampire soldiers. They took everything and I tried to fight them" she coughed again.

Blood was still oozing out of her and it was scaring me.

"you have to get out of here. It's not safe!" me-maw gripped unto my hand.

"I'm not going to leave you. Let me heal your injuries" I didn't know where I was going to get someone or something to fix her but I knew I had to.

"there's no use anyway. I'm already too old" me-maw tried to laugh but it turned into a cough instead.

The first tear drop fell from my cheek.

"you have to promise me something" she began to pant.

Her time was running out.

My breathing was heavy.

"me-maw stay with me, please" I could barely see what was happening.

Tears had blocked my vision.

"promise me you'll go to Noie. All the answers are there"

"me-maw I-"

"just promise me!" if she wasn't dying, she would've yelled at me.

What other choice do I have?

Me-maw had done so much for me and if this is the only way to repay her, then I'll do it.

Slowly I nodded my head.

"thank you" was all she said before her eyes fluttered shut.

NO!

THIS CAN'T BE IT!

I can't lose me-maw, at least not now!

"me-maw? ME-MAW WAKE UP, DON'T LEAVE ME!" I roughly shook her body and yelled.

There's no way she was going to leave me like this.

"how sad" someone said from behind me and I turned around quickly.

Standing behind me was a man in armor.

He looked buff with dark hair and eyes.

"go away"

I knew it was a vampire but at this point, I feel so numb and dead.

I kept me-maw's body close to me.

"you don't have manners at all do you? Ya' little b*tch" I felt his hands grab a handful of my hair and roughly dragged me out by the hair.

"let me go this very moment!" I yelled as the kept on dragging me through the village.

Everyone was staring at me like I had gone crazy.

What did I expect?

They never really liked me so why should any of them care about me?

"what're you looking at? Help me or don't you have any humanity left? useless piece of sh*t-" I was cut short when the roughly threw me into his carriage cage.

My butt stung in places I didn't even know existed.

"Lyra?" I heard Eri's voice.

What was she doing?

The guard could decide to take her along if she pisses him off.

I've already lost me-maw so I at least have to say goodbye to Eri.

Using the little energy, I had, I ran past the guard who was about to lock my cage, towards her.

"what's going on?" she cried.

It was painful for both of us.

First, I lose me-maw and now I'm going to lose Eri?

Why are all of these things happening today?

"I'm going to miss you Eri" I gave her a hug.

"alright c'mere you little-" as if on cue, the guard came over to us, grabbed me and began dragging me again.

"NO!" she held unto me tight but her grip wasn't any match for that of a vampire.

We all knew even the whole village couldn't fight off a vampire solider.

I tried to escape from his grip again but failed woefully.

Eri's dad had to hold her before she does something stupid.

I'm shocked the guard didn't take her as well.

Maybe there wasn't enough space for all of us.

"you can't do this!" I yelled as he roughly threw me into the cage again.

The stinging in my butt was the least of my problems at this point.

Right now, I wanted to be home.

Tears kept flowing and from how it seemed, it wasn't going to stop anytime soon.

With the crack of a whip, carriage began to move slowly.

"LYRA!" She cried out.

I held the bars and looked at her as she got further and further away.

"goodbye Eri" I whispered.

Eventually, her father let her go and she began to chase after the carriage.

Sooner rather than later, her legs broke out and she was crying on the floor.

Today was beyond a painful day.

Why am so unlucky?

What have I done to offend anyone.

What have humans done to deserve such pain?

I closed my eyes and did the one thing I've never done before.

Pray to the priestess.

Wherever she is I hope she can keep Eri safe.

I know my fate is sealed but she has a long way to go.

Deep down there was a feeling that she wouldn't answer them because I never believed in her being some kind of super-hybrid but what other choice did I have?

I kept on sobbing as the carriage drove to the place of my death.

The final resting place for unluckiest humans such as myself.

The vampires castle.

This chapter is a bit short.

For my first fantasy story, it's going well, don't you think?

What do you guys think?
