The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 44:

We were in a cave obviously but it wasn't crammed.

There were so many crystals with different colors hanging everywhere beautifying the place.

"this is amazing" Eri gawked.

"so where is she?" I asked Yura.

"well I can be everywhere and nowhere and so can you depending on how much attention you pay" there was a lady suddenly behind me all of a sudden.

She was a bit skinny but not malnourished and looked exactly like the king but her gold eyes shun even more in the dark.

She had long hair and tattoo's everywhere plus some paint on her face and some piercings.

"new minds ready for molding…who are these" she asked her nieces.

"this is Lyra, daughter of Elaka and the last Khamatu. The one beside her is Eri; daughter of Stella Monroe and a witch of snow"

The strange lady looked at us from head to toe like she hadn't seen people before.

"how do you do? My name's Darya" she hugged us both.

"now without wasting time…let's begin"

..................…...

"since you two are new, I'll try and get you up to speed so I can teach you four together"

"magic can be used as an extension of your senses. It can have a positive and negative result. Here we use magic to better our society and that of the lives of the people…except for those who choose to go out of line. Magic can be used as defense, offense and anything in between. Since you haven't done anything magic related before; I'll teach you how to start or go about it. Some people prefer to store magic and others don't. there are so many magical spells out there and there are stored in spell books. Some more advanced than others. I will lend you the one for beginners so you can practice while at home"

I was excited as well as Eri.

Magic seemed easier to learn than combat but I shouldn't judge a book by its cover right?

"I'll give a little demonstration" Darya brought her arms forward and bright orange light eliminated her hands.

I could see a circle with different markings and designs a few inches away from her fingers.

It looked beautiful and enthralling.

When she kept her hands closer together, the circle became bigger and when she moved her hands far apart, they divided into two.

A/N: if you've watched Doctor Strange or even Loli Rock, you might know what I'm talking about…

"now the first step is harder than all the others. You have to connect with your supernatural self. Close your eyes and keep your arms forward"

We did as we were told; eyes shut, arms forward.

"magic is all about imagination and breaking the walls of containment…doing the impossible" Darya began to circle around us.

I won't lie to myself; I was feeling…something but it was a faint connection.

The extra energy I felt was weak and I had to concentrate further.

I didn't know what to concentrate on, but I began focusing on what I felt in my body.

I was thinking the crystal on my neck would help me a little but unfortunately it didn't.

"now I don't expect you to get it right away but-" Darya froze and I opened my eyes immediately.

Eri was seriously sweating and I could see small sparks from her hands.

She was doing it.

Then like an explosion, two bright circles were a few inches away from her hands but hers was blue.

"very impressive Eri; keep practicing and it won't be that stressful to channel this kind of energy and make it happen and Lyra keep practicing…you'll get there eventually" she tapped my shoulders.

"now since three of you are in the same level…sort of…but I can show you how to do some spells"

"w-what about me?"

"until you get to this level, there's nothing I can do…keep trying; you'll get there" she tapped my shoulder and walked to the others.

I felt so embarrassed that I ran to the exit and was immediately met with harsh sunlight.

My body gave way and I collapsed on the grass and began shedding tears.

I couldn't help but feel like a failure.

"Lyra? What's wrong?" the queen was right in front of me.

At first, I considered not telling her but she's the only one I could talk too since I'm sure Eri won't understand.

"well I'm not good at combat or magic and I'm Elaka's daughter! I'm meant to be good at everything from the start"

"but it's your first day don't be so hard on yourself-"

"it's Eri's first day too and yet she's advanced more than me…maybe I wasn't cut out for this"

She didn't say anything for a while before sighing.

"I need to show you something…walk with me" I slowly got up and followed her.

We walked until we approached a greenhouse with beautiful plants and herbs that grew inside.

And very huge tree was the center of attention.

If I thought the entrance to this world was big; then this was different.

It was so big that it grew out of the house and was incredibly tall; most likely the tallest in the world.

"it's beautiful…but where are we going?"

"I can't tell you but with time, you'll be able to come here on your own…now close your eyes and count to five"

Her request was suspicious but I obliged and counted.

When I opened my eyes, I was in the same place where I found the crystal and where I was told I was the Khamatu.

But why did she bring me here?

"have you ever seen your mother's face before?" she asked as we approached the tree.

"n-no. I have no idea how she looks like" I never even thought of seeing her again so there was no point.

"I want to show your something" she stopped when we got close enough to the tree.

"place your hand on the bark"

The queen has been making weird requests lately but everything is for my own good.

I touched the bark and felt something like a link between me and the tree which was really weird.

The bark opened and revealed something like a coffin…

With someone inside!

"Lyra; this is Elaka…your mother" …

Mother-Daughter moment…kind of.
