The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 30:

Prince Alex's POV:

It was going to be another incredibly dull day for me.

Ever since I got separated from her, everything's felt different.

I couldn't get a new personal slave out of the respect I had for her.

And even if I did, it wouldn't be the same.

I thought I was the only one that was upset but even Cyrus has been unhappy lately.

It seems I'm not the only one who got attached to something they couldn't have.

He's been in his room more often these days, rarely coming out and for some odd reason, he thought no one would notice it.

I could understand his pain.

After losing our mother, there was nothing or no one we thought we could lose and it would affect us.

Until she came into my life.

Never in all my years of being alive have I met someone like her.

She showed fear towards me even after I had told her to relax and be herself.

She never asked for anything outrageous except for her sister to work in the castle.

She's different.

And I'll never see her again.

I was walking to the front doors of the castle when I saw Cyrus there already…odd.

"what're you doing here?" I simply asked.

The height difference wasn't that much though he was maybe 4 or 5 inches taller than me.

"can't I stay where I want without being questioned?" he snapped.

I didn't pester him any further.

As odd as it sounds, I speak with him more than I speak with Xander even though we don't have heartfelt conversations all the time.

He's always too busy ruling the kingdom.

"but if you must know…" he gained my attention.

"I sent soldiers to capture and bring back those who escaped and they're already on their way back"

The news gave me goosebumps.

So there was a chance that I would be together with Nadia.

That meant I had to stay here upon her arrival and save her from the punishments she was bound to receive.

That's IF she made it back.

Now I couldn't leave here even if I wanted to.

Nadia.

Please be ok.

I stood with Cyrus for a while before we heard footsteps and sounds of a slight struggle.

Both of us were eager to open the doors but had to keep our cool.

When the doors finally opened I was a bit disappointed.

It was only one of the soldiers who I'm guessing is the leader amongst them.

Behind him was a slave and two of his comrades.

When the slave looked up, a teardrop nearly escaped my eyes.

Though she was wounded and slightly beaten up, she was here with me again and I could tell she was happy to see me too.

How I've missed her.

"what of the others?" Cyrus roared and I suddenly remembered there were other people around.

"I'm sorry sire but we were ambushed" he bowed his head.

Even if I didn't have advanced hearing, I could still hear my brother growling like an animal.

Not that I could blame him.

He had hopes that he would get what's his today and yet…disappointment.

Royals aren't used to getting disappointed.

Now to rescue Nadia.

Since she was my slave I grabbed her hand and dragged her to her feet.

"I'll deal with you personally" I did everything within me not to give her a hug and kiss her but that'll be privately.

Just so it wouldn't look too obvious, I kept on dragging her till we got to my room.

No sooner than we did I bolted the doors and backed against her.

I could tell by her breathing that she was crying and tears began to drop from my eyes as well.

I turned around and hugged her while using my left hand to pat her head.

"shhh it's ok; it's ok" I tried calming her down.

Things must be hard for her right now and we would get through it together.

"I thought I would never see you again" she tightened her grip around my shirt and squeezed hard.

"me too…me too" I felt like if I let her go even for a moment, she would vanish again.

Everything felt like a dream to me.

"are you alright? Did they hurt you?" I tore away from her and began inspecting her entire body.

"I only have a few scratches but I'm alright" she smiled in a way that showed her upper teeth.

"I've missed you" she hugged me tightly again…

Lyra's POV:

We've been on the journey since yesterday.

Eri still hasn't woken up and it worries me seriously.

Me and Sam have been talking to the warriors and they seem really friendly; all except the blind jackal.

Something in me wanted to ask why she was like this or what made her like this but it wasn't in my place yet.

I looked down at Eri again.

She's the one who's suffered the most.

"don't worry" one of the warriors who's name I've come to know as Cedar tried cheering me up.

"we'll take her to a healer as soon as we get there" she smiled.

"thanks Cedar" I smiled back.

"how close are we anyways?" Sam was whining like a child.

"actually were here" the jackal stopped suddenly.

I couldn't see the difference.

We were still in the forest but in front of the thickest and largest tree I've ever seen.

I watched her open her hands and began chanting in another language I didn't understand.

There was a sudden silence until the tree slowly began to part and formed an archway.

"welcome…to The Lost City of Noie"…

Finally, one of the princes POV and I couldn't help but make Alex a bit soft.
