The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 14:

Everything about the mysterious lady was so...mysterious.

I didn't want to trust her but seeing as she was in my dreams and knew my full name, I guess I didn't have a choice.

But that was the least of my problems.

Everything that happened last night hit me like a slap on my face.

How the king had asked me to come into his room and relax?

I didn't want to at first but I was so weak that I was out cold when I finally gave in.

With that in mind, I sat up slowly so I wouldn't get dizzy or anything.

The room was just how I left it before sleeping off except I couldn't see the king anywhere.

I used this opportunity to head for the door.

"not so fast" a voice stopped me dead in my tracks.

He was coming out from the bathroom.

I'm guessing someone else had prepared his bath for him.

Which means-

I made sure my eyes were glued to the floor and never looking up.

I didn't want to see anything that could possibly kill me.

His majesty didn't say anything.

I'm guessing he shrugged on some trousers.

"you'll have to eat dinner before you leave" that was when I noticed the plated on the table.

"I possible couldn't sir it would be wrong"

"you're really fond of refusing my requests and I might have you spend a few days in the dungeons. Would you like that?"

I immediately shook my head.

"smart. So be a good girl and take your seat close to me and eat your dinner" he made his way to the table and I followed behind.

I opened the plate and saw the mountain of food that was kept for me.

I don't think I could finish it all.

"leftovers aren't an option. Eat it all" he didn't even look at me while he ate.

I was about to say something but I'd rather eat than be eaten so I swallowed my objections and forced down every bite.

There were times that I wanted to hurl but I couldn't because it would put me in a tighter situation.

After everything, I was about to leave with the plates when he told me to rest on his bed again.

"but sire, I would like to go back to the slave quarters now" I whispered.

"are you defying my orders?"

"I didn't mean to but since I feel better now, I wanted to be with my loved ones. Please sire. I really am ok"

Honestly my entire body burned not being near my 'sisters' for so long.

He was silent for a while before surprisingly granting my request.

"thank you sire" I smiled, cleared the dishes and went away.

...............

Time flew by after that day, though the king still drinks from me and gives me a day off if he's feeling generous but it doesn't happen often.

Though it was like I challenged him the day he told me to relax so I've been extra careful.

He hasn't changed how he drinks from me though and I have the fang marks to prove it.

Me, the girls and Sam spend breakfast and any free time we have together.

And slowly, I began to adjust.

Meanwhile, the hooded lady still comes in my dreams and tells me things I'll understand in the future.

Though she hasn't revealed her identity to me, I don't think I need it right now.

She's always at the back of my head when I'm not asleep.

Whoever she is, she's really wise but I don't call on her for help all the time.

It's not like my problems require that much advice.

The person I worry for the most is Eri.

Since she was given to prince Xander, she's been growing weaker.

From what I've heard, he's worse than the king.

And I actually believe it's true, but I wish there were a way to save her.

Nadia's POV:

I was standing still holding out prince Alex's clothes while he picked them and put it on himself.

He isn't so much of a fuss if you do what you're told.

"thank you" he said, taking his shirt and wore it.

"would you like me to get you your meal sir?"

"n-no" I just need a foot massage, that's all" he stated quietly.

"yes sir" I quickly turned around and went to get everything I needed.

He sat quietly while I worked on his feet.

"was your sister brought here as ordered?" he suddenly spoke.

"yes sir. And I can't thank you enough for doing so"

Call me a bad person but when I saw Lyra here I felt it would be unfair for Eri to be in the village by herself.

The prince noticed my distress and asked what was wrong.

When I told him, he asked for her description and told the guards to bring her here specifically.

"and she stays in your room?"

"yes sir" I could tell he was staring at me with all seriousness but I couldn't do anything about it.

"but you're still not happy"

I guess he could easily tell.

Prince Alex has a weird act for keeping his servants happy so they would be more efficient when they work.

But there's a limit to how much he could go.

The main reason he finishes off his servants is because they act out of line or become disrespectful.

"y-yes sir"

"go on then. Spit it out!" he demanded.

After I had calmly explained that Eri was his twin's slave he didn't say anything at first.

He only let out a sigh.

"well that's beyond me. Once Xander has a toy, he has a toy and the only thing that can separate is very unpleasing"

My face began to lose all color.

"the relationship he has with his slaves is like that of an old married couple"

I didn't understand so I became brave enough to ask how and what he'd meant.

"TILL DEATH DO US PART"

I had to choke down my tears.

It was one of the rules I had to follow.

Who knows how he'll react.

The only thing I've ever asked from him is to bring my sister her and I was determined to keep it that way.

"I understand sire. I'm sorry"

"sorry for what?" confusion was laced in his voice.

"for demanding so much of you. I made a promise that-" I held my tongue because this technically counted as speaking out of terms.

"go on, I'm listening"

"well I promised I'd ask only one thing from you and I have so it would be selfish for me to ask for this"

Silence.

The prince didn't say anything while I went on with his feet.

"look at me" I was reluctant but I had to comply.

He kept staring at me like I had 3 heads and a tail and I wanted to tear my eyes away but I didn't want to disobey him.

"you're a very interesting thing, I'll give you that. It seems I might keep you longer than most servants I've had"

I wanted to say something but there was nothing to say.

"I'm actually feeling thirsty if that's ok with you"

I snapped back to reality and nodded my head.

The prince drew me closer while I knelt and pushed my hair off my shoulders.

"try not to think about it too much and it'll be less painful" and with that, his fangs sunk into my neck.

Lyra's POV:

"Lyra, we'll be having a guest here by next week" the king informed me though I had no clue what I was meant to do with this piece of information.

"yes sire"

"I know you're wondering why I'm telling you this but you have to obey my command before anyone else's. Do you understand?"

"yes sir" I kept on making his bed.

It was the last thing to do before I was hopefully done for the day.

As I got up and spun around to leave, I hit the king's chest and stumbled back a bit.

"sorry sir, I didn't mean to run into you" my voice was small.

"I know you didn't" he smirked with sinister intention and I knew I wasn't exactly through for the night.

Now do you get it with the princes' names?
