The Devil Princess

Princess Zanilia knelt and bowed down to her mother's corpse with tears in her eyes.

The female devil standing at the side looked s though she had seen a ghost. it would be weird if she did not react that way, after all, everyone single devil knew that princess Zanilia was worthy of the title 'Miss arrogant and Condescending'. No one had ever seen her show any expression except that wickedly seductive one that made all men enchanted.

The second princess Layla was the complete opposite. She was innocent, kind and gave off the feeling of a fairy, which was why she was made the heir to the throne of the Gods.

Late queen Mila's death was not a surprise as she had shown signs of weakening ever since she got married, which was caused because of the union of a God and a Devil.

She had married the Heavenly Lord, and because the bloodline of Gods and Devils repel, it had caused. backlash in both husband and wife. Her husband had died after she had given birth to Princess Zanilia while she lasted longer as her cultivation was more stronger than that of the Heavenly Lord.

Zanilia looked at her mother's corpse, her beautiful face wash in tears.

Denial was shown on her face as she shook her head repeatedly.

"No, no. Mother, you have to wake up. You have to." She wailed as she shook her mother, but her mother did not wake up.

She could only watch in pain as her mother's corpse quietly dispated, her soul transported to the underworld where she would join her ancestors.

She sat there for a long time, until she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked back and saw her best friend, Zenos looking at her comfortingly.

She stood up and hugged him tightly, crying so hard her voice turned hoarse.

"Zanilia, put yourself together" Zenos said, looking at her gently. "You have to remember that you will be the next Devil Queen, so you can't lose yourself in grief. Your younger sister is up there in the God Realm, as the queen. You wouldn't want the other devil's to find you in this state, will you?. So please, put yourself together. Okay?"

Zanilia nodded her head and wiped her tears.

'Zenos is right. I can't lose myself in this pain. I have to uphold the Devil Realm and Human world for my mother. I would be the Devil Queen soon. I have a big responsibility. I promised Mom I would be a good ruler. I must not disappoint her.'

Ten Years later

.....

"With the power in me and that of my ancestors, I crown Princess Zanilia Chu as Devil Queen Zanilia." A middle aged devil said.

Zanilia faced the crowd, her face expressionless and devoid of any emotion. She was dressed in a red and black gown, With a long red cape flowing behind her.

'I am now the queen. No matter what, I will continue to remain strong.'

Zenos stood at the side, looking at the newly crowned queen with abig smile on his handsome face.

They both looked at the crowd, looking forward to the long years ahead.
