The villagers are thrown into a panic, as even the mission cannot keep them safe from the /"Devil/", and are easily convinced by the rangers that it would be better to return to their homes, where guards against the killers would be put in place, while the hunting party searches for the man-eaters, and put an end to the reign of terror that they hold over the valley.

Day fades into night and the sun returns to light up the sky, and there is no news of any further attacks by the killers. The people of the valley start to relax, and their lives slowly start to return to normal. The rangers trek through the dense bush, searching for the killers and in the process kill another three of the large cats, one large male and two females found in the area of the second village, and the word goes out that the reign of terror is at an end.
