Chapter 01: Pharaoh Mathers

Black City

At the center of black City there is a huge mansion located there , it belongs to the Mathers family one of the richest families in the whole of the Dragon empire. Not only is the Mathers family rich but they are also one of the strongest families in the Dragon empire second only to the Royal Draco family.

The Mathers family and Draco family are very close being mostly related due to marriage but they also share a close friendship with one another ever since the establishment of the Dragon empire.

It is said that the ancestor of the Mathers family was the best friend of the first Dragon emperor having fought with him to help unite the Southern part of the Cloud continent. Ever since then the Mathers and Draco family had close tied with each other whether it be with marriage or friendship.

In the huge mansion of the Mathers family one could see a lot of figured shuffling around the mansion those were the servants of of the Mathers family , this is the daily situation of the Mathers family. Servants would be seen every now and then going in and out but it would be hard to find any single member of the Mathers family outside.

The first reason is that the Mathers family as a whole was obsessed with gaining strength so all of their time would be used either training or doing family missions. This was not different even for the youngsters of the family were not different.

The second reason is that they preferred to be low-key and not draw attention to themselves because outside there were many eyes and many people were using all kinds of abilities just to be the daily life of the Mathers.

As for for the third reason it is because once the members of the Mathers family reach a certain strength or age they would be send out to other Worlds to either do missions or to help spread the families influence.

As for their younger generation once they reach the age of 15 they would be be sent out to the outside world to gain experience for five years and they can only return when they reach the age of 20. The Mathers family would also disguise those of the younger generation who were going out to gain experience so that they could not be seen by the prying eyes of the public and also it's a rule that the younger generation going out can't use their names nor have their family sigils shown to the outside so they can have a better life.

The Mathers family members can be recognized by their sigils which appears as a burning mark on third foreheads , they can make it appear or disappear at will.

Don't let the way they do things make you think that their familial ties are weak. No , on the contrary they are very united and always protect their own.

Back to the servants who were shuffling left and right in the mansion , these servants were up preparing for an important event it was the day for the ability awakening of the young generation of the family.

The ability awakening happens every year as long as there were any 14 year olds in the mansion. Abilities are gifts given by heaven and Earth to humans and beast. For humans their abilities are awakened when they reach the age 14 and they would need the help of an ability stone to help them sense the ability that's engrained into their souls.

The ability stone is a strange stone that has the ability to allow individuals to know what their ability is.

Inside the mansion there ten youths who were all seating in a meditative position. These were the youths of the family who would be tested and all of them were age 14 , in front of them there stood a middle age man who had a frown of his face and next to him was a servant who wore butler attire.

The man turned to to butler and said "Go and drag Pharaoh over here , we're all waiting for him"

The butler had a trace of embarrassment on his face but he still clentched his teeth and replied "Master we had already called him but he chased us away and said we should not disturb his experiments else we'll be next"

"Experiments!? What rubbish experiments !? He can finish those after , I'll go drag him myself I'm his father after all"

With a whoosh the middle aged man disappeared from where he stood and he quickly reappeared in a room where by a 14 year old boy could be seen with gloves on and holding a scalpel dissecting a green coloured rabbit like beast. The young man holding the scalpel was named Pharoaoh Mathers.

When the middle aged man he didn't even seem to be aware of his appearance in the room.

Seeing that his presence went unnoticed the middle aged man lightly coughed and only then did the boy turn around while holding the scalpel full of blood.

"Oh Father what brings you here" Pharoaoh smiles at his father.

"Don't act like you don't know. Get rid of that and let's go get you tested and stop being a freak trying to find out how beast function because every beast is different. I even regret why I taught you all about dissection and biology now you look like the me back then" the middle aged man whom is Pharoaoh's father had a trace of a dotting smile on his face as a said those words to his son.

Not daring to disobey his father Pharoaoh put away the scalpel then took of the gloves ,his moves were so smooth one would swear he was a professional surgeon. After doing all that Pharoaoh went next to his father , his father put a hand on his head then said "I hope you haven't been slacking off on your martial practice"

Without even waiting for an answer from Pharoaoh with a swish both of them disappeared from the room then appeared back to the place where the ability test was going to happen.

Looking around Pharoaoh smiled at his father then joined the group of youths who were seating cross legged on the ground but when the other yours saw Pharaoh their eyes shown a trace of affection and a bit of annoyance.

Everyone in the Mathers family cared and dotted deeply on Pharaoh because in this generation of youngsters he was the youngest having just turned 14 the previous day whole the others where a month or two away from turning 14.

Even tho they had the same year of birth but they steal treated Pharaoh as a younger brother.

Seeing that Pharaoh had joined the group Pharaoh's looked at them and smiled.

"The ability test will begin shortly"

Hearing his words the butler pressed a button on the wall next to him then a large reinforces glass came down from the top of the room them trapped the teens inside and it had the ability to stop the boys from seeing the people outside but those outside could see inside.
