Escaping the Calamity

With highly vigilant eyes, she slowly bent down. Before Xin Siyue could even think of throwing the rock, she took a large handful of sand in her hands and threw it towards Xin Siyue. As she wanted, the sand got in Xin Siyue's eyes and she dropped the huge rock before screaming hysterically by the irritation in her eyes.

Taking this as the distraction needed, 'Xin Mei' took off in a rush. Quickly running way from there as fast as her dizzy self could take, she rushed off avoiding the dense trees and rocks on the ground.

"Xin Mei, I won't leave you unscathed!" Screaming from behind, just as 'Xin Mei' reached the highway road, she was tripped down to the ground by piece of wood thrown at her either by Xin Siyue or one of her bodyguards.

As her knees touch the ground, an ear piercing sound of a brake echoed in the otherwise quiet road.

'Xin Mei' watched helplessly as a car came dangerously close to her face. She couldn't believe her fate. Was she going to die again withing minutes of her rebirth? Wasn't this unfair for her? She wanted revenge for whatever happened to her.

As the car stopped at the last second, she exhaled in relief and thanked the nine heavens in her heart.

Inside the car, Rong Xiu who was sitting next in the passenger seat next to the driver, turned around and asked the man in the back seat, "President, do you want me to go and take a look at her?"

The man at the back slowly opened his eyes, emitting nothing but bone chilling coldness, asked the driver, "Xiao Yu, did you hit her?"

"No, she came in front of the car. I stopped before I could hit her." Xiao Yu shook his head negatively.

The man in the back seat wanted to ignore the matter completely at drive off but when he looked at the front, his eyes narrowed and he swore that his heart just skipped beats.

As the headlights shone upon the woman on the ground, she slowly turned to look at the car with utter relief evident in her eyes. With her ash brown hair covering the shielding the majority of her face, though he couldn't look at her face clearly, he swore that his breath hitched when he looked at the grey orbs glistening like thousand stars and staring at the car in relief. His interest piqued.

"Rong Xiu, bring her here." He uttered coldly and continued looking at the woman.

Rong Xiu got off the car and approached the woman who was still looking at the car blankly and held out his hand for her, "Miss, our president wants you to get in the car. We will send you to the hospital to take car of your injuries."

If her situation wasn't as bad as now, she wouldn't have accepted the stranger's help. But she wasn't someone who couldn't see her disadvantage clearly. In fact, she could see it clearly that this was the only way to escape. Therefore, she stretched out her hand for Rong Xiu to assist her in getting up and walked to the back seat wordlessly with great difficulty.

But when she saw the man's face through the window, she froze on the spot as if she'd been stuck by lightning.

And even the government had to keep quiet without taking any actions.

Though his background was awesome, that was nothing compared to his appearance. He had a face that could bring disaster and chaos upon a kingdoms. Being a person with a Chinese father and Caucasian mother, with his biracial looks, he could easily pass off as the most handsome man in the world. He probably is though.

Though he had everything, there had never been a gossip involving him with a woman.

If he was here in this time, that means he was here in her previous life as well. Despite seeing the accident, he ignored it. But she couldn't blame him though since most people now would do the same. Instead of ignoring it, they would've taken their phones out and made fame out of recording the scene.

Rong Xiu opened the door and placed his hand of the top of the car before gesturing her to get in. But just as she was about to get in, Xin Siyue ran towards her furiously.

Ignoring the pain in her body, she quickly slipped inside the car. Since her actions were too hasty, she lost her balance and directly fell into the man's arms. Though she didn't mean it, she sat frozen.

Xin Siyue, who ran over in a hurry and attempted to grab 'Xin Mei', stopped in her tracks when her gaze fell on Han Xiyuan. Her eyes evidently lit up and she put her best smile on her face before tidying up her messy hair and clothes.

"Young Master Han, Hello. I am Xin Siyue. It's my songs that are trending in the internet now." She shamelessly introduced herself to Han Xiyuan.

'Xin Mei' who heard this gritted her teeth in anger and exasperation. It was her songs. She was the one who wrote the lyrics and composed the music but the one who got the credit was the shameless white lotus in front of her. Han Xiyuan clearly felt the woman in his arms hands tightening around his waist as she buried herself in his arms. He could feel the anger radiating from her.

"What do you want?" He asked coldly without even sparing a look at her. Instead he wrapped his arms around the woman in his embrace.

Xin Siyue's expression froze when she saw him ignoring her and embracing 'Xin Mei'. She gritted her teeth in anger and said, "She's my sister, Xin Mei. We just had a car accident. I deeply apologise in behalf of her for getting inside your car. If you could allow me, I will take her to the hospital to check her injuries."

'Xin Mei' who heard this couldn't believe the audacity of the woman to lie straight to the man's face without even a tiny hint of hesitation. She immediately raised her head and looked at Han Xiyuan with her glistening grey eyes pitifully and said in clear Mandarin she learnt and understood during the conversation and her monthly visits to Country X, "Young Master Han, your car hit me. Shouldn't you be the one taking the responsibility?"

Xin Siyue was ecstatic hearing the audacity of her sister. She was dead sure that Xin Mei was going to face hell for her actions by Han Xiyuan. But Han Xiyuan suddenly chuckled and broke her dreams, "I will surely take responsibility for you!"

Then he slowly faced Xin Siyue and coldly replied, "As I said, she is my responsibility now. You can scram now."

Hearing Han Xiyuan's reply, Rong Xiu closed the car door and quickly got on the passenger seat quietly. Xiao Yu, without even glancing at the woman standing outside in disbelief, drove off while Xin Siyue watched with deep hatred towards Xin Mei as she stomped her feet angrily and cursed her dear sister in her heart.
