CHAPTER 12 : APOLOGISING IT IS
'Congrats Ellie. You will be dying from frostbite today.' Was the last thought Eleanora had before slowly turning towards Alexander.
"Did you say those things?" Alexander asked again.
"Alexander, trust me. There is some misunderstanding here. I am-" Astoria still tried to save herself but Alexander didn't let her do that.
"Get out." Alexander said in a low deep voice, which even frightened Eleanora.
"-being misunderstood.. huh?" Astoria looked at Alexander, her face devoid of any colours.
"Get out." Alexander repeated, his tome colder tgan previous.
"Alexander you can't-" and Astoria didn't even got to complete herself.
"Listen when I am being nice." Alexander said, his gaze shifting back to Eleanora.
"Fine." Astoria nodded before turning, her eyes hateful for Eleanora.
She walked towards the door, her foot stomping hardly on the tiles.
"You will regret this." Astoria muttered under her breath, audible only to Eleanora.
"Eleanora, are you forgetting something?" Alexander asked, even making Astoria stop briefly.
Eleanora looked at Alexander with a half-scared-half-blank expression.
Alexander raised his eyebrows, as if suggesting something very obvious, similar to their previous life. And something clicked in Eleanora's mind.
'No he can't be saying this after all right? No, no I am guessing this wrong. Alexander can never be good to me, not when he doesn't even know my identity-' Eleanora was still contemplating when Alexander called out Astoria and stopped her midtrack, precisely next to Eleanora.
Eleanora looked at Alexander, trying to catch any expression which was signalling something else and not what she was thinking.
But no. He didn't.
'Fine. Anyways, it's not like I like Astoria. I was even gracious enough to let this pass, but not now.' Eleanora thought before turning towards Astoria.
"Apologize." Eleanora said, crisp and clear.
"Excuse me?" Astoria gave the worst possible look she could to Eleanora.
"You seriously ARE deaf, right? Or else why would you require everyone to repeat twice?" Eleanora continued, knowing this time she won't quietly suffer from everything thrown her way.
"Don't test my patience and your limits." Astoria said through gritted teeths.
"At least stick to your words. You said you will get me kicked out or apologize for insulting me unnecessarily. You didn't even do anything to get me kicked, they were all my efforts. So have the courtesy to apologize. Now." Eleanora said, her voice getting confident with each word.
"Alexander this is way too much! How can you tolerate a nobody like her speaking to me like this!!" Astoria was screaming by the end of this statement.
But Alexander didn't say anything, he was busy guessing Eleanora's next move.
"You.. you will regret this entire ordeal! The moment you step out of this room, you will regret existing!" Astoria threatened Eleanora.
"Unfortunately I don't carry a regret bag around like you. I have confidence in my choices." Eleanora said, infuriating Astoria even more but at the same time rendering her and Alexander speechless.
"Sorry!!" Astoria shouted before stomping her way out of the room, the sound of her heels diminishing slowly in background.
But the silence that followed suddenly made Eleanora gulp hard.
Though she felt a bit better after recieving her apology, she still had a devil to face. She looked at Alexander, who hadn't shifted his line of sight for even a microsecond.
"You lied." Alexander said and suddenly the temperature was back to negatives.
"Alexander.. I.." Eleanora didn't even know what to say.
"Apologise." Alexander said coldly.
"Huhh?" Eleanora was shocked at his sudden change in demeanour.
"Apologise." Alexander repeated a little too forcefully.
"And why should I? Didn't you hear what your so-called girlfriend said? Or are you deaf as well? How-" Eleanora was saying when Alexander cut her off.
"Enough! Apologise!" Alexander raised his voice, his words cutting through air while his eyes looked blood-red, his veins pulsating on forehead.
And suddenly Eleanora felt as if somebody had slashed her soul into two halves. The memories from the past were once again too fresh and so was her fear for the beastly Alexander who had punished and harmed her in unspoken ways.
"So.. sorry." She barely whispered as a tear rolled down her cheek while her entire body was shivering from fear.
"Get inside." Alexander said, his voice toning down a little after watching Eleanora all paled out.
She simply lowered her head, walking with shaky steps inside the room as she went back to the sofa, sitting there lifelessly as her tortures and punishments from past life played in front of her eyes.
'Not another crybaby. If she hadn't said all those things so brazenly, I might have actually changed my doctor, but not anymore. I will make sure that you suffer for every single word you have spoken to me. Nobody has dared to ever raise their voice in front of me, not to mention what you spoke. You will pay for everything, Eleanora, everything.' Alexander thought in his mind.
"Next time you try to run away, pray for yourself and your family." Alexander spat bitterly, traumatising her even more.
Alexander, who was still angry from Astoria and Eleanora's drama, sat leisurely on his bed and was in no mood to bear with a crying girl, something which he extremely hated.
Tyler soon returned with a few men who carried another bed and a set of everything which was already present in the room.
He even made those men pass the designer clothes that Alexander had asked him to buy, though they were of course more than necessary.
"Dr. Rosenheim, Boss has selected all of them personally, though the fit may not be appropriate. If you don't like anything, tell us immediately, we will get that exchanged. Also the Boss personally asked for this one." Tyler said before passing her another mysterious box and leaving Eleanora with a pile of branded bags, reminding her of old times.
She opened the box, only to find a pair of white sneakers, that too the perfect size to be more exact.
Previously she had spent a lot of time with Alexander, and if there was one thing about him, it was his observation skills. Hence he knew everything about her, ranging from her height and size to even her smallest shift in emotions without ever asking her.
But things were a bit different here. Though when Eleanora actually opened the bags, everything was to her perfect fit and unfortunately everything looked a little too good on her.
"This is too much. I will ask someone to bring my daily necessities here by tomorrow. You can return the rest-" Eleanora was still speaking when she was cut off.
