CHAPTER 19: SUDDEN ACCIDENT

THIRD PERSON POV

The game of tag had been going on for an hour when darius finally opened his eyes and saw himself being carried by Rohan, who was wearing a purple jacket.

When he does, he recalls the pact they had made. In the meantime, rohan shoved his twin behind him as soon as he saw him woken up. When Rheyne noticed the white fennec fox staring at him with his head tilted sideways, He carried the fox and hugged it tightly.

"Wow~ I knew we should just adopt him! such a cute fox like this shouldn't be on the wilderness!"

"but you've been opposing me to bring him in the dormitory earlier.."

"what? who? come on, let's just forget about it! haha!"

rheyne just keep hugging the fox tightly while caressing his furs, on the one hand, darius just keep trying to struggle on him while looking to rohan as though he was seeking his help, but rohan just avoid his gaze on him and whistle.

'hey human! help me here! stop your twin?!'

as soon as rohan heard darius voice on his mind, he just got surprise, 'Amazing.. so we can talk in our mind huh?'

'nevermind about that! help me here!'

'don't want to. seems like you're struggling out there.'

'fck! don't be that heartless!'

suddenly, rheyne glance to his twin and asked him cheerfully, "did you already named him?"

"hmm.. not yet, But I have something on my mind." rheyne just smile widely as he caressed darius head happily, "then what is it then? tell me!"

the corner of rohan's lips just twitched before take darius to him that makes him breathe softly, he then put him back on the jacket, " you sounds like a child, brother."

"hey! you're the youngest one here! I've got born 50 seconds before you!" for the second time, Rohan sigh once more, he pokes his nose and gives him an adoring glance, due to this, darius can't help but feel uneasy. For some reason, it seems as though there is a hidden meaning there.

'this human.. why do I feel like there's something wrong with him..?' he thought to himself.

"well, let's just named him darius." he said to his brother and caressed his head.

"Hmm.. darius huh? should we name him fluffy instead?"

"heck, brother.. that's too lame."

"don't make a face like that as though I'm gross!"

"but you truly are.."

"that's two times already!"

Rheyne simply pouted on his twin and crossed his arms. While they were lazing around, they were unaware that a mysterious figure was hiding behind them and waiting for the right moment to attack. but Its presence couldn't deceive the sins of greed, so when Darius' intuition kicked in, he instantly alerted Rohan about it by using telepathy to talk to him.

'someone was hiding behind, you should be careful..' just when rohan heard his voice, he searched the area discretely till he discovered who was trailing them. He then pulled out his ring and activated the hologram containing a map of the entire forest. When he spotted a red dot close to them, he couldn't help but exhale deeply.

"rheyne.. once I count tree, we have to run immediately, someone spotted us." he whispered, when rheyne immediately realize what does he meant, he just nodded and replied,

"got it." While carrying Darius on his arm, Rohan gives his twin a quick glance as they continue to ride the hoverboard. However, darius quickly jumps onto his head and lands there, which causes Rohan to frown. but he stopped asking him further and instead pressed the button beneath. as the hoverboard's side began to glow purple.

on the one hand, you will see an innocent man with silver curly hair and sky-blue eyes, hiding on the bush, this guy was none other than zepphyr fuentavila, who decided to camp in the southern part of jaded woods by the time the game of tag begins.

"I can just make them sleep if I wanted to but.. showing my powers here might attract the other's attention, and furthermore.." he then glance at the mysterious white fennec fox that is nested in rohan's head meaningfully. "my intuition is telling me to becareful with them."

Zepphyr instantly jumped down from the trees and ran on them when he saw Rohan press something on his hoverboard when he realized what they were planning to do, however it was already late when he heard Rohan exclaim, "Go!" as their hoverboard accelerated.

Zepphyr simply clicked his tongue in discouragement as he began to pursue them while attempting to match their speed. Since this is a southern section of the forest, there are many trees, vines, and stones everywhere, which makes it challenging and confusing for others. However, for Zepphyr, who was an angel and also held authority in the heavenly realms, this was a piece of cake.

however, it doesn't mean that he's an absolute, after all, every power has it's own limitations and that is, angels barely sense the power of a primordial demon. and since darius amon was a primordial demon, there's only a 25% for zepphyr to sense his presence. another one, since the sins of greed has already made a pact to a human, half of his powers was sealed within the depth of the heart of it's eve, which make for zepphyr to lose another half of it's possibility to be able to unmasked the presence of the sins of greed.

as to why how did he manage to find out about devian's true identity that easily, it is only because of two reasons, connection and affection.

"seriously? how did they found me out?" he murmured before he took out a bow and rubber arrow that has a paint on it's point, although there's a gun, as for an angel like him who lives for almost a thousands years, he still chooses to use bow and arrow as his weapon, it is his specialty after all.

He slowly raised his bow and released an arrow, aiming it at Rohan. However, just then, Darius noticed and subconsciously instructed Rohan to dodge to the left. When Rohan turns to face the back, he promptly obeys Darius' instructions and avoids their arrow, which causes Rheyne to exhale.

"You serious?! there were still people using a bow nowadays?!" rheyne complains, due to that, by the time they dodge the arrow, their pace went slow as well which make zepphyr catch up to them, and while rheyne were very anxious about him, rohan just calmly look at zepphyr's direction, but then.. when he notice that darius went up with a surprise expression while looking to zepphyr, rohan frowned and asked him.

'what's wrong?'

'that guy.. he's dangerous..'

'huh? what are you saying?'

Darius would probably be biting his lips right now if he weren't in animal shape. Due to their lack of trust in their surroundings, demons are much more sensitive than angels when it comes to detecting one's own existence, which is why Darius was able to identify him right away.

'you might not believe on it.'

the corner of rohan's lips just twitch, 'I made a pact to you, so why wouldn't I believe everything you will say? I wouldn't surprise anymore if creatures like vampires, giant, elves or even fairies were true.'

'I mean.. you might regret it later, are you sure about that?'

' I didn't regret making pact with gyu, did I?'

when darius heard his replies, he couldn't help but to sigh, 'that guy, zepphyr fuentavila, was one of the important figures of heaven realms, he's an angel and the guardian of seven princes of empyrean kingdom.'

and that caused Rohan to almost fall when he heard the word "angel." Despite the fact that he believes in angels, the idea that an angel would set foot on a human's ground made his heart begin to beat loudly and noisily as if he were looking straight at the god.

'Angels were not permitted to enter this world unless they had a crucial job to complete, so it's highly probable that's the primary reason he's here. However, in addition to him, I also sensed the presence of another angel in the eastern portion of the forest. This presence is much more pure and golden, and I only know one other person who has this kind of presence.. well, anyways, I suggest not to get close with angels so much, you already made a pact with me, if they found out that you are connected to the sins of greed, they will surely targeted you.'

rohan's mind went adrift once more, as soon as he heard darius warning to him, he did really regret asking zepphyr's true identity and now, he couldn't help but to feel that the god was directly looking to him for founding out about the angels, he wouldn't be surprise anymore if one day, an angel from heaven realms would knock on his door.

thinking those things, he smiled awkwardly, 'geez.. that's creepy as hell.' he thought.

but even so, for his own safety, he decided to listen at darius warnings, just because a lot of danger might befall upon him once he took care a demon, it doesn't mean that he would give it up, for rohan, the most important to him right now would be an entertainment, as long as he isn't yet satisfied to the entertainment that darius will show to him in the near future, he wouldn't let go of him until the end.

so a small smile curve on rohan's lips, by the time rheyne notice him smirk, a chills were sent down to his spine, and for some unknown reason, his presence grew dark as though he was covered by an empty darkness. although it wouldn't be seen by naked eye, rheyne could imagine it, he was his twin after all, and there's only one reason why he is like this, either he felt an annoyance towards zepphyr or.. he found their situation rather interesting.

however, given to the face that rohan showing, it's full of amusement, which make his twin frowned in confusion. 'damn.. I started to feel uneasy.' he thought.

meanwhile, as soon as darius saw rohan formed a small smile on his lips, his eyes widens when he feel a warmth power surging on his body proof that his connection from rohan grew stronger a little, it makes him gasps and couldn't help but to whisper on his self, 'so he found this situation as a form of entertainment.. huh?'

'you have quite a taste.. I thought you would afraid with him once you found out that he's an angel, it's completely different to what I expect.' darius told him, rohan's face went back to expressionless again and didn't replied anymore as he glance at the back, where zepphyr was still chasing them.

"Will he just keep chasing us?!" rheyne complains, on the other hand, zepphyr just keep hoping at the stems of the trees while still holding his bow, he took out another arrow and shoot it at rohan's direction, but then again, they manage to avoid it.

because of irritation, he shouted on them, "will you just keep running away?! how coward~"

and that makes rheyne's lips twitched in annoyance, so he shouted back, "This is a game of tag Idiot! of course we would run! don't ya have a brain?! didn't ya listen to headmistress earlier?! how lame!"

as soon as he said those words, he smile awkwardly to him and said in cold manner. "I'll fuckin' kill you, you piece of shit." as he took out five arrows before pointed it above and let go the string as it fly all the way to rheyne's direction, this makes his eyes widened so rheyne immediately stop and use his hoverboard to block all the arrows before he look at zepphyr.

"Hey! are you planning to kill me?! just chill! this is jjust mock battle!"

"did someone already told you that you're an annoying..?" he just keep shooting an arrow towards rheyne's direction but he still manage to block or avoid every each of it.

"people often called me that—! fuck! If not only because of the rules I already kill you! do you even know who I am?!"

zepphyr then smile sweetly at him, but even so, there's still a hint o f threat behind those smile, as he took out his last arrow, "doesn't matter~ I'll just kick you off in this game! you actually pisses me off you know~"

"Huh?!"

meanwhile, rohan, who was just sitting at trees while watching his twin defending against zepphyr, couldn't help but to arched his eyebrows when he heard darius who was lying on rohan's lap laughing on his mind.

'he seriously got provoke by a mere words from human?! that's funny! hahaha! an angel who suppose to be a gentle and kind was cursing right now!' he said.

"is that even funny? it's too boring for me tho, I'm expecting that he would fight rheyne using his holy magic just like on the movies I often watched yet.. it's just a normal child fight."

suddenly, darius laughs to rohan, 'if that happens, half of the world might turn into ashes by now, like I said earlier, angels are beings that shouldn't be allowed to descend in human world, simply seeing their true body will cause a certain person's death, which means, zepphyr's identity right now was just a mere vessels, his true body's whereabouts is unknown.'

"so they do really using magic huh?" when darius look at rohan, he just staring at zepphyr with a hint of greed on his purple eyes, then he mouthed that causes darius gasps again. "How envious, I want it to."

he then carried darius and lift him up above while smiling meaningfully, "can you give me some of your magic as well?"

then again, darius started to felt uneasy because of him, but rather than avoiding rohan, he just give him a smirk. "how amusing.. although greed is already common to human, yours was different. however.. you should not forget that I'm a demon, I can give you some of my magic but.. be ready to lose all your sanity until you become my marionette, is that ok to you?"

rohan just click his tongue when he heard about the consequences and just sigh, "too bad.. I'm really not a type of person who follows someone else's order like a dog, so I guess I have to give up on it." darius just smile to him meaningfully and replied,

"Good decision! although, I can't give you my magic, you can just order me to use it incase if there's an emergency happens to you, however.. there's always a substitute, since using a magic can drained my life force, you have to give me your blood in exchange."

rohan just winced at him as soon as he heard what he said, but as he was about to to spoke, he's eyes widened when he felt a presence on his back as though there's a scythe the was pointed on his neck, so rohan immediately jump down to the trees and step back as he glance to the person Infront of him.

but then, a grayish fog appears around him and all of his surroundings turn into a dark one that makes rohan frowned.

he couldn't see anyone else as well but only himself and darius in his fox form and by the time rohan felt an upcoming attack from the back, he rushed on the side while carrying darius.

"what's happening here..?!" he asked to darius, suddenly, a cold and monotone voice spoke on his back that makes darius eyes widened in surprise.

"fuck! were dead..! 'he' found us!" he cussed, and then In front of them steps a handsome man with black, straight hair that extends to his buttocks, green eyes, and spectacles. He was wearing a serious, cold expression and holding a black death scythe that was tall as one person. By the time Rohan saw this man, he already understood everything, and just by thinking those things, it made him tremble, but he didn't just show it; instead, he just looked at him calmly.

"hoh.. so it was you, huh?" the man, which is none other than, jotaro miller asked him.

"I don't know what are you talking about, miller." rohan then replied while directly looking on his eyes, suddenly, jotaro smiles a little on him.

"interesting, you didn't even flinched a bit when you saw me perhaps.." he glance at rohan's trembling hands, so rohan immediately put it on his pocket, then jotaro added, "you're just faking it."

"I don't know who or what kind of creature are you, I'll just pretend that I didn't saw anything so will you please let me out already?" he change their conversation.

"ok, in one condition.." jotaro pointed his finger with a sharp black nails on the fox he was carrying and said,

"leave that fox to me, he is something you shouldn't pick up or else a calamity might befall upon you."

by the time he said those words, jotaro got surprise as soon as rohan pointed a dagger on him that even darius almost make his jaw dropped, 'H-hey the hell are you doing?! I'm still not in situation where I can fight him with all at ease, that's a fucking god of death! do you want us to die early?!' he preached rohan but he just acts as though he didn't hear anything and give jotaro a cold reply.

"weather it's a god, an angel, a demon or death itself, I would never forgive those people who keeps taking what's mine.. and so what if he is something who will brings me a calamity? the only matters to me the most is.. I want him, so whoever you are, just mind your own business, will you?"

when jotaro saw his cold purple eyes looking directly to him, a sudden chills went down on his spine, it as if like rohan was the god of death itself that once he spoke, he would die. however, he didn't yelled in, instead he just nudge the bridge of his eyeglasses.

"as much as I wanted to, I don't like bloodshed—!"

"and as much as I wanted to, I don't want to get angry, you would never like it."

jotaro give rohan a a cold glance and so as him, "are you threatening me? the god of death?"

"No, I'm just warning you, Mr. god of death, you see, I do really hate those people who keep stealing what's mine, if you want to take this fox, then you have to kill me first." when rohan said those words, darius just gasps at him, he didn't expect that he would warn the god of death like jotaro using his calm tone and expressionless face, and as he keep witnessing this, the more he found him interesting.

"that fox isn't a toy for you to played with, he is something that shouldn't be in this world, you could say that he is a time bomb that could explode if he wanted to." jotaro tried to explain in most calm way but that didn't affect rohan at all.

"is that even matter? he could explode as much as he wanted to, as long as I wouldn't be part of that explosion, he could just fucked off the whole world, I don't care at all, I mean.. wouldn't it better if there are no humans in this world?" he grinned widely to jotaro that makes him click his tongue again especially when he felt an uneasy feeling about him, so he sigh.

"it seems like I have no choice but to kill you, huh? although reapers were not allowed to take someone else's soul that is not on 'cleansing list', I'll just have to make a reason from the higher ups, 'rohan jadon Moriarty is a threat to human world, which is why I have to kill him.' is the best reason, so.." as jotaro swung his death scythe, a huge wind blew the grayish fog that surrounds on them, jotaro's long straight black hair flutters and he floated above, just as rohan was about to took out his weapon, his eyes widened in shock when he realizes that jotaro was already Infront of him and mouthed "Die."

And just as he closed his eyes and prepared to pass out, someone slashed the area they were in, causing him to gasp. He opened his eyes, but then he saw Darius transform into a human and cover him with his pitch-black six wings before carrying him and fleeing. As he turned to look at the mysterious person who slashed the area, a purple fog popped up around him, appearing as though someone was deliberately manipulating it to prevent him from seeing anything. He was shocked, not just rohan, but everyone in the vicinity of the forest.

at fynn's and rufus direction..

rheyne and zepphyr's direction..

to devian and keir's location..

including chauncey, caitlyn, aria and alexandra.. the same as headmistress as well..

even in elyze and damion..

it as though someone was making them fell asleep intentionally..

and the one last question on their mind before they fell asleep is.. 'what was happening..?'

thus, Since that time, the sudden incident has been the longest-running unsolved case in P.N. Academy history, and everyone who was inside the forest at the time has woken up in their respective dorms wearing their own sleepwear and gazing out of their window as though they had just awoken from a nightmare as the saturday morning has already come.

meanwhile, just as elyze wake up, she just massage her forehead as she wear her robe and went outside of the balcony to breathe some fresh air, she then remembers her 'dream.'

"what a weird dream, it as if like I just watch some action movie where rohan is the main character.. or perhaps..

"is it really.. just a dream?"
