Kieran wasn't sure whether or not the spirits with intellect here retained their universal weakness like the other worlds, such as fear of sunlight.

Starbeck put on his coat and followed Kieran downstairs.

After Kieran opened the restaurant door, he could see a group of people gathered under the streetlamp further away.

The streetlamp was off because it was morning, but a rather big and buff man was hung on top by the neck, his face purplish and his tongue sticking out, waving together with the morning breeze.
