Ysabel felt her surroundings freeze. Everything else faded away, and there was only her and Prince Hinrik, who looked at her like she was the most precious thing he had ever laid eyes on.
The butterflies in her stomach fluttered aimlessly. She felt her heartbeat thundering against her chest.
A soft wind ruffled her hair; it brought Ysabel back to reality. The scent of the flowers in her surroundings suddenly wafted through her nose.
"You can only say that now. In the long run, you'll get tired. Stop waiting for me, Hinrik."
Ysabel wanted to beg. But she knew just how pathetic that would make her.
"A queen never begs, Ysabel," her mother would reprimand her when she learned about it. They were in another kingdom, and everything she did, whether she liked it or not, would be reported to her mother.
