13 No plan survives conflict

She underestimated him.

From the hollowed mount Etna, she had watched him and his battles. To make sure that he was doing as told and causing a commotion that would distract the Olympians. Only for him to have far more potential than what she had expected.

Who would have thought that he would evolve with each feast? To not only permanently gain power from his opponents but to also surpass them with it. Not Echidna. Her pride and ambition had led to her underestimating his ability and place non-existent limits on his growth.

It did help that her flawed plan was ruined even further when the Kraken appeared. Empowering Ghidorah and causing the God King himself to intervene. Who she had hoped would be able to put down the parasite once and for all but it was for naught.

Zeus had failed and the only thing to show for it was Ghidorah once again gaining more power. Along with a weapon of mass destruction that atomizes anything it touches. Similar to his gravity beams in that fashion.

However, this did not matter to her, not truly. For soon, her husband would be free and she knew without a fraction of a doubt that Typhon would slaughter the Golden Demise.

As if in response, the mountain began to shake as a large hole was torn into it. The cause was the man, no, a dragon that casually strolled into Mount Etna. Arriving before the large barrier that sealed Typhon within. Which was getting weaker by the second.

Turning his gaze toward the two, Ghidorah smirked. "I must thank you, Echidna. If it was not for you, I would have waited a long time before beginning my hunt for power. Though, I doubt that my thanks would do the dead any good."

Snarling, the Chimera pounced on Ghidorah. The fear he felt at Ghidorah's mere presence was overridden by his will to protect his mother. However, the difference in their current power levels was apart when Ghidorah simply waved his hand and manipulated the air in the Chimera's lungs to pierce it's heart.

Then, Ghidorah grabbed the Chimera and quickly drained the corpse of it's powers before tossing the skeleton to the side. Causing Echidna to grimace at the fate of her son... a fate she would share, she knew. Dragons are known for their wrath after all.

"It does not matter anymore. Killing me will change nothing! The seal has already begun to collapse and there is no reversing it now!" She announced.

Bringing laughter from the dragon in return. "Heh. Heheheh. Hehahahahahahahaha! Of course, it won't! Your death will not change Typhon's release but I never wanted that! Your death will, however, bring me immense satisfaction!"

Flexing his incredible physical prowess, Ghidorah appeared before Echidna before she could even react. Grabbing her by the throat, he activated the Electric Shock Pulse in conjunction with his absorption ability.

Practically vaporizing the Mother of Monsters and draining her of her power as Ghidorah watched on. The added pain he inflicted upon her was unnecessary but she used him. Took advantage of his weakness to achieve her own goals and he hated that.

This time, there was no skeleton left behind. His lightning has seen to that when it eradicated her body. And after he finished destroying her, familiar magic notes floated into the cave and turned into the kneeling form of Hecate.

Who Ghidorah did not even bother looking at as he turned his attention toward the barrier. "Report."

Bowing her head, she did as told. "After Zeus descended from Mount Olympus, Athena, Apollo, and Hermes worked to relocate the humans of Greece. To protect them from the evitable ruin your fight would bring."

Nodding his head, Ghidorah asked a question that had been bothering him. "Where are they? Their leader is killed and they... hide?" He did not think the gods were cowards. Then again, they are known for hiding on their mountain.

"That is Athena's doing, my lord. Your newfound power has made the Olympians fearful of you and Athena has used this to ascend to the throne. She seems to have a plan to defeat you, or at least incapacitate you, my lord." Informed Hecate with a bit of worry.

Using various scrying spells she had set up in the throne room, she had witnessed all of their actions ever since the peaceful Titans were cast out by the gods. With each one of those spells being ones of her own creation.

For she is an inventor at heart, always has been. And the point of inventing is to make things that don't exist. As such, how would the Olympians be able to notice something that they are not even aware of? Especially when it was made by the one who created all of the magic in Greece.

Chuckling at both the notion of Athena besting him and the look of pride on Hecate's face, Ghidorah asked one more question. "Do not worry too much about Athena. The most she can do is delay the inevitable. Besides that, what of Poseidon? I doubt the Zeus of the Seas would submit to Athena."

His words gained a chuckle from Hecate. Knowing just how impossible that would be. "Of course not. The God of Gods left for his kingdom soon after Zeus descended the mountain. He seemed assured of his brother's victory."

He will have to look out for Poseidon in the future, then. Even if the Sea God is known for his apathy and hatred for plots, there is still a great possibility of Poseidon being a problem in the future.

However, before he could voice his concerns to his priest, the mountain began to shake once more. The barrier could no longer hold back the Giant within and started to collapse. Allowing the chaotic and destructive aura of Typhon to leak out.

Almost destroying Hecate in the process as the aura washed over them. However, a barrier was quickly cast by Ghidorah. Creating a golden sphere around Hecate that blocked the aura from eradicating her and saving her from an untimely demise.

"That was quicker than I expected. He is truly the Father of Monsters." Giving Hecate a quick look, he bid her farewell. "Soon, you will be able to support me in these matters but for now you must flee."

Which she did with some reluctance. Knowing that the time to prove her worth would come. Not even considering that she had already done so by teaching Ghidorah magic and acting as his eyes and ears in this land. She had already proven herself to be invaluable.

Under the pressure of Typhon's might, the sabotaged barrier was bound to break and soon did when the large hand of Typhon smashed it open. Like a duckling being born from an egg, the Storm Giant broke himself out of the prison he had spent so long in.

Revealing a form not too dissimilar to his late wife, Echidna. The only differences are his large pair of bat wings and color patterns. With Typhon possessing long pitch-black hair and sickly yellow eyes that caused Ghidorah to cringe at the sight of them.

Now free, the Giant could not hold back his excitement. "Keheh! HehehehahahahahHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Wonderful! Absolutely marvelous! I can sense them all over the place! Those useless divinities are crawling around like maggots!"

His aura had already spread far beyond even Greece. Threatening to cover all of Europe in a hurricane of titanic proportions. Granting the side effect of allowing Typhon to sense every single Greek god and even some of the gods from other pantheons.

Causing Typhon to laugh with glee at the prospect and Ghidorah to wonder if Typhon was always a lunatic or if centuries of solitude had driven him mad. Either way, the sanity of his opponent mattered little, he decided. Typhon would be devoured all the same.

"Ha! It will be a massacre of the highest order!" Typhon continued and prepared to leave the mountain when his head snapped over toward Ghidorah's location with a look of surprise. Having only just now sensed the dragon.

However, this shock quickly melted into glee. "Your strong, dragon. You smell of the abyss and... something else." The winged Naga slithered around Ghidorah as it spoke. "But your existence is welcome. It had been so long since I met a true opponent!"

He roared out as his tail slammed into Ghidorah with a crack and flung him out of the cave. Now, in the open, Ghidorah morphed back into his true form with a growl. Not at all pleased with being thrown around like that.

And when Typhon excited the cave and stood before his slightly larger form, Ghidorah flexed his aura and pushed the Giant back. Bringing a grin to Typhon's face as he pushed right back with his own.

The responding clash split the sky itself as another battle began. One between the Father of Monsters and their King.
